I've been using Micromod's v.19 GB ROM for about a month now, however, it's becoming more apparent that it's not very bug free as I use it more. The bugs seem to be increasing, I get more app crashes and weird bugs the more I use it.
I haven't tried a ROM based on the CM7 nightlies yet. Does anyone have a recommendation for any of the Gingerbread custom ROMs?

I've been tempted to move to LeoGingerBread ROM. It's based on AOSP with CM7 filling in the missing parts and is customizable through leoparts. Seems to be a complete package.
So flash another rom and see for yourself..
Micromod is a nice rom but has got a lots of bugs and is not as stable. Now answer to your question - it's really a personal preference, I am using CM7 nightlies since a month, its been improving and updating almost everyday, getting better with each iteration. Again, its a personal preference, but why don't you just try downloading those roms with gingerbread and try them for a few days one by one... may be you will find one which suits your needs.
I find CM7 really slow, compared to some Froyo ROMs (i.e. Enomther). Even LeoGingerbread is slow, as it includes CM7's framework (as of the actual version).

I've been very pleased with Micromod's Gingerbread Custom CM7 Mod. The only issue I have is occasional resets, but it sounds like that's a problem with other CM7 ROMs as well.
BTW, does anyone know if FM radio is working on any of the other CM7 Gingerbread ROMs? That's the main reason I chose Micromod's version over the others.
Using Leo's ROM now. Wait for 0.9.2 and flash (currently there's a bug in Apps2SD). It's a mix of AOSP and CM7.
Didn't encounter any weirdness yet.

I'm agree with you. I've been using MicroMod CM 7 v1.3 for almost a month and it works very well. It's too bad that MM left us for another phone :-(
But, thanks for your great effort MicroMod :-D
I personally like Geo's GRH55 build. Fairly stock, but it's speedy and has trackball awake - the only killer feature I needed.
[ROM] Gingerbread (GRH55), Deodexed, rooted, busybox, battery%, TB alert/wake 2/11/11
On the downside, HQ Youtube is not working on it, but it appears everything else is so far.
whats the fastest wildfire rom at the minute? sense or no sense doesnt really matter? like cyanogen or something, my phone is really slow at the minute which is really annoying me
wild puzzle, put an overclocked kernal on and use SetCPU to overclock, that might speed your phone up a bit.
Thats what i would do.

It is probably a kernel issue. Try reusing HCDR.Kernel v4.1 from it's specific thread. Apart from that, you can try Openfire ROM as well, which is a completely vanilla AOSP build.
cold it be that rom manager didnt wipe properly? iv just manualy gone through and wiped everything and it hasnt crashed on me yet,
i thought the kernel would be flashed fresh from cm7?

Yes, it is always recommended to wipe it manually through the Recovery Menu. You have to wipe data, cache, dalvik cache and /system for best results before installing a new ROM.
As for the kernel, yes, it is included by default in CM7, but it is v4.2. Using v4.2 has caused some stability issues for some members, and, in that case, it is recommended to revert back to kernel v4.1
yeh thanks for that info, was a kernel issue i hope, all been goin good so far
strange, cause the only difference between 4.1 and 4.2 is the wifi driver.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
Well since using the 4.1 keen every thing is working perfect, nice and fast no fcs or random reboots.
Well my mate said I have a desire hd and thank god I do, couldn't handle the wildfire lol

Cm6 and Cm7 is a bit not very stable for me, have to reboot one or two times a day. Maybe I'll switch to other.
you are doing it wrong, cm7 is really stable. I m using nightly 19 for weeks without any problems.

Don't think so, do a wipe data, system, darkvik cache, flash #53, boot in, first time ADW FC. reboot, flash 4.1 kernel, boot again, ADW FC again
I can reproduce it everytime, lol
I used CM the last two weeks..
Yesterday I went to the new CM7 Rc1 then i moved to Openfire..
it's very stable and fast, even without setCPU.. i've just backup all my apps and it is wonderful..
The last cyanogen seems to be quite slow sometimes..
I'm lost in choosing a ROM for my new phone ,I wanna know what is the best and most completed ROM for X8
hy, i think, if you wanna replace the stock rom, choose racht's latest rom. For me, jerelpea's rom reboots after locking the screen every minunte, while, in use it doesnt.

i searched for racht's latest ROM it is 2.3.3 but i think it is not stable yet ,any other ideas
im using miniCM - RC1 and everything works perfect for me, so i'm satisfied
none of these roms are fully stable, if we are lucky the new libaudio will fix the most of the bugs. I usually use skype, and it doesnt work on any of these roms, so i wait for the fix.

+1 me too.
No way libaudio will fix reboot issues. They are totally unrelated. A custom kernel will though

sorry then. i read it in racht's thread, but it looks like libaudio is just causes skype crashes.
i think 2.2 ROM based is the most stable for daily use. i've installed the latest ROM for 2.3.3 and i restore back my 2.1 because lots of bug. too many reboots. the most stable ROM for me is :
Floyo 0.15
MiniCM for X8
thanks for replying guys , I have installed Floyo-0.15 and it was perfect but I found that it doesn't support Arabic keyboard ,
anyone have a solution for this problem before trying MiniCM or restoring to the 2.1 stock ROM ????
floyo n minicm are the best so far.
right now I'm on floyo with mod on system/app.
usually I try cm7 2.3 racht n jerpelea Saturday to Monday.

Hey Guys,
Lately I've been having problems with some of the newer HD2 roms. The problem is that my phone freezes after a couple of minutes using a rom. (screen just freezes and turns black, after few seconds phone reboots).
I 'think' these problems occurred when the new Rafpigna 1.9 kernel was released. I think Rafpigna 1.9 isn't compatible with my HD2.
For example:
I tried Coredroid witch comes with kernel 1.9. After installation phone boots ok but after a few minutes phone freezes. The problem could be solved by flashing the older Kernel 1.8 and the rom worked perfect.
However, with the new gingerbread Sense roms (like imilka's roms) this solution isn't working. I tried flashing other kernels but phone always reboots after few minutes.
Could it be the problem that older kernels are not Ginger Sense compatible? If so.. could someone direct me to other Ginger Kernels so i could try to flash them.
or if there is an other solution.. please tell
thanks in advance.

I'm currently on simplicity jvs and its not stable and it often freezes and reboots. What can I try that won't freeze and reboot out of the blue?

Id suggest a fresh flash of simplicity making sure you follow the instructions to the letter.
I've been using simplicity for weeks and haven't had any crash or lag once.

Hello,i have used jetpack with talondev kernel for a month, very fast, great battery life and seems very stable!
here the thead http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1178026
I would figure the stock firmware would be the best thing for freezing and reboots.
Ian
most often crashes and freezes are from legacy data and bits of stuff left from previous flashes that are incompatible with whatever you have on there now. Won't matter what you install until you cleanse the phone fully.
Backup your apps and data, copy the backup to your pc or the external sd card and then cleanse the phone and then flash the firmware of your choice.
I've been using MIUI rom for several months now. Have tried going back to stock roms such as JVS but I have to say I liked MIUI more...

after flashing nearly every custom rom out there over the last year I'm currently doing the same as you and running stock JVT with semaphore 1.8.
This stock rom is so good that imo there is probably little point in running anything other than stock. Been running mostly jetpack v6 recently but got fed up of the occasional freezes and reboots.
Cyanogen
Cyanogen... can't get more stable than that...
Norbi is stabel rom
I can suggest to you use Norbi. It is stabel rom.
Used CM7 for a while but returned to stock JVT
Hi,
as the title said, I used CM7 (stable/released version) for some days/weeks and I must admit: it was runnning very stable! But the one thing that got me returning to a stock version, was the fact that one had to download the Google Apps (Gapps like RomManager calls it) in order to get Gmail, Market, Maps etc, on the device.
Having said that Gapps that I downloaded, was only for 2.3.5 where CM7 is running (a modified) 2.3.7; so after a few days the Google Framework FC'ed heavily on me, after finding some solutions online (cleaning data etc), I came to realize that I use Gmail (and its "native" features) very often, so I decided to return to stock JVT.
I am checking from time to time whether Gapps is being ported to 2.3.7; and if that's the case (hopefully soon) I will jump immediately back to CM7
I hope my post helps you a bit further.
Cheers!
Been running cm7 for weeks now, not even 1 FC on me...All kind of issue is due to bad flashing and user's error! What i suggest is that you make a clean install. When i say "clean install" meaning flashing back to froyo, wipe internal SD, cache...etc Flash GB latest FW den to cm7. This is to make sure u have a very clean base, no doubt is troublesome, but end of the day, its very worthwhile...
Yes I second or third that (Cyanogen Mod 7.1)
Its the best man!

Another vote for CM 7.1 Solid as a rock.
Stock rom with some great kernels (GalaxyEE , Semaphore)
GalaxyRom: as sable as stock plus you get a very nice Blue theme.
