So after having my g2 since February i decided it was time for a change. After looking around on xda for a bit i decided to do the polished battery door, which can be found here. i didnt polish mine as much because i like the brushed look a bit better. but then i wanted to do something with the HTC and G2 logos. best ide was to blacken them. i decided to also make a tutorial for anyone else who would like to.
step 1 - remove your battery door

}
step 2 - find a black crayon
step 3 - rub the crayon over the HTC and G2 logos. make sure to press hard while doing this to get the crayon deep into the logo
step 4 - get a plastic scrubby like this.
step 5 - gently rub off the excess crayon that you put on.
step 6 - polish the battery door with a micro fiber cloth.
if you have done all that you should end up with something that looks like mine in the pictures
Your pictures aren't showing up. Can't wait to see what it looks like
same problem. This seems like a cool idea but i would like to see the picture results first
*EDIT* i have put liks in each step for pics.

Looks cool, but wouldn't the crayon start to wipe and melt away? Is there any clearcoat added after?

Yes i don't think its very durable but a clear coat would fix that. there is no clearcoat yet but ill be putting some on soon

Interested in seeing the clear coat application process.

Can try using plastidip clear.

That actually looks REALLY nice.. I would have never thought to use crayon to colour in the indentations, props to you. Thanks button hit.
I got some free time in a coupe days so maybe i'll do this. my battery door cover is pretty scratched up and i've been using the phone without a case on lately so this would make it look sweet.
Again, good job!
Thanks and I might see if I can find that plastidip stuff at home depot. And to clarify the only reason there are links instead of pics is because the pics would not show up.
*EDIT* i am in the proccess of do this over with more colors. should be up tomorow.

added a red version and fixed the pics issue somewhat.

Hi All
I've been reading XDA for a while, but never posted before - today though, I noticed something really odd with my X10
...it seems part of the back panel is magnetic (it started picking up paper clips!) - i'm not sure if it's always done this or it's something new
It's a very specific spot though - if you pull the back panel off, it's the small rectangle just above the bit that says microSD (though it does it with the back panel on too)
I was wondering if anyone can help me with the following...
1) what's under the rectangle
2) is it supposed to be that magnetic
cheers

Under the rectangle is the flux capacitor , and yes it is magnetic well no its actually the gravitational pull thats cause by it being able to stop time.
All quite normal just whatever you do do not place paper clips near it!

I bought the HTC One in silver since it was the only colour stocked by O2. But i do really prefer my phones in black so tried making a sticker for the front and back. Here's my attempt, its not perfect but what do you guys think?

I don't think so. You can see some air bubbles under the sticker and the seams from the white dividers on the top and bottom
Sell This
Can you describe how you did this and or sell a kit? This would make me feel better about pre-ordering a silver One.
Surely OP will deliver!
Im a part time graphics designer and have access to a vinyl plotter and endless types of vinyl. So i got to work by creating a template of the front/back for the plotter, loaded the matt black vinyl and let the plotter do the rest.
The hard part was measuring every aspect of the fone, as you can see for the front camera n sensors I got the measurements slightly wrong.
In the future i would love to try carbon fiber vinyl on this.

Im gonna plasti-dip mine since i got the silver. Gives you color options, adds some protection and gives it a nice grippy surface...

i willingly could buy your silver device if you dont like it even its not announced yet offcialy in my country. just checkin' picks
I don't care about black or silver.
The main thing is, the surface is not shiny.
That's why I always liked the phones from HTC (my One is on the way )
would you be willing to start making more of these and selling them?!
I think a matte sky blue...a la Volvo's blue in their performance line...but matte or satin would look amazing on the One.

It probably isn't a terrible idea if you like the shiny look. I love the way my one looks now but if it were scratched up at all i would give it a shot.
I may not be familiar with this but on a personal POV. I don't like it It looks like one of those brandless china phones I see

If with this finish scratches up how long do you think it would last without scratches if it's polished to a mirror finish?
I wouldn't run wire wool over my £300 car with, let alone my One!

All you would have to do is buff the scratch back out. That is the great thing about metal.
So ive lost the C forever, and now the phone looks ugly. Poor quality by HTC IMO... anyone else experienced this?

My C fell off when my phone was sitting on my lap on a road trip. I guess the sun was too hot for it and the glue just turned to cupcake frosting. I ended up taking the other two letters off along with the C and it doesn't look too bad! All that gunk in the C in the OP's picture can be rubbed out so it has a clean look.

possible you can post a pic? might just do that.
While I was cleaning the back of my phone I noticed one of the letters moving, so I went ahead and took all 3 out.
I used rubbing alcohol to get the rest of the glue out, and it's pretty clean now.
I actually prefer the feel of the back without the letters. It was weird at first, but I think it feels better.
I'd post a pic, but I don't have another camera.

RIP "C" lol ...sorry bout that bruh
You know this gives me an idea...
With the filler removed from those placeholders there's enough countersink to fill with epoxy and then sand smooth.
Clear five minute epoxy resin could be used and you can make them any color you want by mixing in a bit of acrylic paint found in a craft store.
Get creative!
Just be sure that it's clean so the epoxy sticks well. Or it could fall out again...
I'm willing to bet that properly mixed epoxy will stay put though.
sad times right now, good thing is that its going back to att once the new phone is released =)
similar to the Nexus 5 ...all the Nexus letters on my white and red housing have been RIP'ed
wow, i didnt even know that they could rip off like that ?? I say you clean it up and throw some black silicone RTV in there and no one will be able to tell the difference haha

haya Xperia Play community what are you guys still doing here? Its been 4 years already. Move on.
Jk. Thats why Í'm still here. Still messing with my Play.
So my logo fell out. For real. one day i took my phone out of my pocket, and realized something felt a bit strange. There was no bump where the logo should have been.
I was devastated. well not really, the logo looked kinda **** to be honest, was only a green circle. So iI made this.
Tell me what you think.
That is, if anyone is still here.

I really like it good job.
I love my xplay. Maybe more than my previous ngage classic and ngage qd. I thinking about new parts for my play. New screen, new back cover, face plate and that damned slider.. Buttons and whole dpad plate..
Any experienced user, how complicated are these tasks? I heard, whole xperia is glued together withou screws. I mean, main body, which you need to take apart from display. I have experience with PC. Changing motherboards, mosfets and things like this, but i never take apart whole mobile phone before. I really want to give my xplay new shine, again My biggest sick idea is to recolor those parts to match old playstation 1 gamepad. But this looks like impossible.. I dont have experience with permanent colors. Any ideas?
