Ive been away from HD2 for a bit and need to flash a new rom for my wife. She is going out of the country and needs a rom that gets good battery life. Any suggestions would be a big help. Thx!!

this one goes well with 'ladies'
I found BLUETOPIA HD to be pretty good on battery life. I would also check out this thread. I didn't see some huge improvement as stated in the post on my battery life but I did notice it lasting maybe a couple extra hours. which is still pretty great. I think its worth taking a look.
oh and I found TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 Nightly v3.4.2 & Moto-MyTouch4G to be pretty good on battery life as well. i would just get a few suggestions and flash each one. see which one you like and gets the best battery life. I would let each rom settle down after you flash it & restart it a few times to really get an accurate battery drain out of it. I also found on ebay 2 spare batteries and a wall charger for around $10. you can even request it to be a different wall charger for the country your going to with some sellers.

Hi guys, long time lurker first time posting.
I have the Droid Eris and just picked up the Imagio today to see which I like best.
I noticed when pulling the cover off the imagio the plug/adapter and battery all looked very familiar. After further review it is in fact the EXACT same battery that HTC puts into the Droid Eris. I happened to order a Innocell Extended battery from Seidio. I pushed it in and it worked like a champ!
I cant post links yet but the product information is:
Product Code: BASI17HHRV
Innocell 1750mAh Slim Extended Life Battery
Under HTC Eris on their webpage.
www . seidioonline . com
Hope this helps some of you!
Link?
Is this what you were looking at? I hope so, I'd love to be able to get more battery life out of my phone!

I really don't mean this in the negative way it will sound, but...
The stock battery is 1500mah & replacing it with a 1750mah battery isn't worth thinking about less you have destroyed your stock lipo entirely & can not have it replaced (which verizon & HTC do)

I had it around from my Eris, and I do notice a longer battery life out of the 1750. I especially need it as my apartment is like norad and I dont have much signal there, so it hops in and out of signal range, putting a drain on my battery.
Hi everyone, I wanted to know if someone has bought the New 2400mAh Extended Battery on ebay and if so, how many extra hours do you get...
I love the android and I'm not going back to WINmo, but the battery life on it is not the best....
Let me know if you think it's worth buying it...
Have you tried using a different build, rom and android. Or try updating your radio? Because I only get around 7mA of usage in standby and my phone lasts a whole day+more of heavy usage.
Not bought, but looks good to me, Comes with a handy kick stand too - So HD7 Has NOTHING on the HD2 with that Lol.
My battery aint great, But i always have my phone on charge, doesnt last long and ive played around with alot of stuff, cant get it to improve, Just a downside to having the best phone in the world, Oh well. :-D
I know this has probably been brought up (the similar threads did not show the question), but i am probably going to need a new battery soon for my HD2 (US).
I am interested in an extended battery, but one that is the OEM size(no new backplate is a must), what is the biggest mAh out there for this? Searching the web and ebay all i could find is this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/2430MAH-HIGH-CA...ccessories&hash=item2eb5fbb4fd#ht_2170wt_1139
Not sure if its just a gimick, or if it will fry my phone, or if its legit....anyone know of that one? Or any others.......I dont mind paying the extra $$$, i plan to keep my HD2 for a long time....
one that works with NAND Android is a must as well......Through my searching the above is the only one i could find that fits my wants/needs.....
thanks for the look

one thing for sure ... dont purchase of ebay and thats not genuine as the mah is 2 large for the size of the battery id recommend buying a normal hd2 stock battery and keep one with you at all times that way you have 2 batterys,
i purchased apparently a (1600) mah of ebay which lasted same as stock battery and until i got an app called battery monitor widget pro it told me the battery is 1230 mah same as stock battery so unless your paying 30+ for over 2000mah with extended back i wouldnt bother as its a waste
you know i've seen a lot of people complain about ebay but as long as you follow some simple guide lines you should be fine, after all if it dont live up to its description you can return it for a full refund per ebay's rules. a seller must list it correctly or they have the chance to have negative feedback & returns. this is not to say that everyone on ebay sells ligit stuff though.
1st thing you should know is if it sounds to good to be true it "normally" is
2nd you should look at the feedback and see if other buyers have left positive feedback for the item you plan to buy
3rd test it as soon as you get it, especially if its a sd card or other easily faked item
4th & last thing you should know is dont expect 100% positive feedback means you'll get a genuine item. some people on ebay start with small stuff they can use to bump up they're feedback score & then start selling cheap/knock off stuff. this happened to me with a 16gb memory stick which had a memory hack showing it was 16gb but really it was only 7gb. ebay gave me a full refund and banned the seller.
if you follow these simple guide lines you should be ok. about the battery i agree LaneyEFC. i have 3 spare batteries that i keep on hand incase one dies im able to swap it out for a new charged 1. i bought all 3 batteries and a wallcharger off ebay for about $15 and couldn't be happier with my purchase. i had a extended battery with a kickstand that made my phone heavy & clunky. It also made it a little more difficult to text on then without. i hope this helps some.
i think this is the seller that i bought mine from.
I know the too good to be true thing mate thats why i asked to be sure.
As for 2 batteries, the reason i'm looking at a new one is, my current one does not hold a charge long enough(yes i have cleared battery stats and all the other tricks), so i'm looking for a replacement......i figure worst case i buy two OEM ones, but finding a higher mAh one in the OEM size would be optimal because i would rather have longer battery w/o swapping em out if possible

that also depends on the rom you use, i get 9/10 hours out off typhoon cm7 but also using the same rom i get 1 day 3 hours using the thread method in my signature and with MIUI i get 7 hours and get 16 hours using thread in signature hints

ATM using Pongsters CM7 rom, been thinking of swapping to a new one but no time for another week till my Calculus 3 Final is done...some interesting things in that thread, will have to take a look at it in depth later......
so still no "OEM Sized" batteries with higher mAh suggestions?

yea i know its not ideal to have to change the battery out but most days i dont even need to. if i do its just right there on the charger. it really all comes down to how i used my phone that day i guess. what would be ideal though is having a battery that lasted a long time like with my touch pro 2. man i could surf the web for house & it might have only dropped by 10%.
anyway like i said i did have an extended battery (2300mAh) but it did make the phone rather clunky & difficult to text on. i ended up just selling it to purchase the spare batteries instead. now im used to it, i just leave it on the charger & if i happen to need it swap it out real quick, longest part is waiting for the phone to boot up.
I've got the original extended battery I just use it all the time now it is clunky but I can play with my phone as and when I want and only ever need to charge at bed time
I don't mind it now and the kick stand is handy

I bought my HD2 used and the battery doesn't really get me through the whole school day, (8-4:30ish) even if I don't really do anything on it, it drains pretty quickly. I've conditioned it and everything, but I think the best things to do would be to buy a new battery.
I'd like to buy from eBay or a reputable online retailer.
Does anyone have any great stories with any batteries?
Make sure out have the apps Juice Defender Pro, Screebl, and SetCpu (with a profile to run the processor at the minimum when screen is off). With these, plus official extended battery, I get between 24 and 36 hours on my HD2.

I use Typhoon CM7 NAND Android on my HD2 and I get easily through 2.5-3 days with moderate use (WiFi included) - my avg stand by is 2-3mA but sometimes it even goes to 1mA (rarely but it does).
You shld get rid of wm if you have it and make your HD2 worth it!!!!
I bought a battery which shoul have 1600 mAh but so big like the normal HTC battery with 1230 mAh.
I didn't feel that I had more capacity, it didin't hold longer than with the normal one.
So i bought the original HTC HD2 Power Battery with 2400mAh and it was awesome. I could easy work with the phone for 2 days without loading and i make a lot with it.
The disadvantage of the Power Battery is that its nearly twice as big as with the normal, but i love it to work with the phone without looking on the battery percentage
If want long work time and size does not matter - original with 2400mAh. And no "chinese" batteries with increased capacity.
dot bother with the ecell battery its a waste of time

I'm not doubting that that's an excellent battery, but when you got the 0mA reading you appeared to be charging the phone and 2 days isn't really that hard to manage if you only use the phone moderately. Also don't forget that the ROM itself will have some effect on the results.
you can buy several backup batteries for emergency
hey all.
i am considering buying as new battery for my defy. the one i have is about a year and a bit old and batteries do tend to wear. i have come across a few on ebay that are higher capacity than original and am wondering if they will charge to full.

i have a defy red lense and am currently running cm7 kang by fuzz i think it is (great job mate by the way love it it is silky smooth). i am considering giving the cm9 rom a try out shortly so would also like it to work with that rom.
so will these charge up to their full capacity or will they not? if anyone knows before i take the plunge can they let me know please
thanks
I've got a 3500 capacity one it charges to 100% then runs down to 0% but then stays alive for an extra day I've got rid of battery icon just wish I can get rid of flashing red light and the warning on lockscreen. If your rooted you can get battery calabrator from market. It works but not for the massive batteries. Hope this helps
defy cm7
cheers mate exactly the answered i was looking for. will get one of those above then probably the 2400 one or whatever it is. that will do me i all i need is an extra 12 hours or so. i may even go and get one of the external batteries as well as a new internal battery as that would be good for all my usb devices. cheers again bud.
No worries glad I could help.
defy cm7
Does anyone think it is possible to create a custom battd.bin which supports the higher capacity? That would be really cool
Might be an idear!
I will have a think about it.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
I would support that. I wonder what is required to change the battd file for larger batteries
sent from the xda-developers app on my MB525 running CM10 with minimal gapps

Hi,
as I found, battery calibration doesn't solve this, even not on the smaller batteries. I use a 1700 mAh HF5X battery in Defy. Somehow it's recognized as 500 mAh, and not charged fully. I have the same issue: battery indicator stays on 1% for a long time.
I tried every fix and kernel I've found but nothing worked yet.
After checking, I think those batteries aren't so good (except perhaps the 3500 one) ... give a look at this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1828768
More, I checked other seller on ebay and everytime the same, whatever the seller : all the bad comments are about "high capacity" batteries ...
Good luck to find a good one
