[Q] Unable to Run Android from SD after installing MAGDLR

Ok so here is my issue,
I recently installed MAGDLR and got Stock Desire ROm running and everything is perfect until I found out that I am unable to run my android ROMS from the SD card!
From the MAGDLR bootloader, i press on boot android from SD = nothing happens.
I realized that maybe haret.exe needs 2 be on the SD card root. So i moved the files.
The bootloader detects the files and boots into Android from SD but then gets stuck at the custom bootloader image of the android ROMS
Tried different ROMS but in vain.
Eversince I installed MAGDLR, I am completely unable of running any ROM from SD.
Does anyone have the same issue or is it only me?
I feel there is a very simple thing I missed and I will feel like an idiot once I know lol.
Any suggestions? I really like testing different ROMS.
Me too, i tried the MIUI ROM from SD (normal rom version) and stucked at MIUI bootloader image.

Did u move ur system files from folder "Android" to the root of the card like I did?
Or was haret.exe already in the root of ur card by default?
I am thinking that this file moving might have caused this
I'm not sure you need to move your files. You can actually configure the Android directory in magldr's settings.
I'm not sure current SD builds are that compatible with being launched from magldr, though. First thing I tried after installing magldr was launching my old m-deejay DesireHD build, but it would just freeze immediately after displaying "preparing sd-card".

ya seems like old SD android ROMS are not compatible with MAGDLR. I thought they would be
Does anyone know what we or the devs can do to resolve this? My builds on SD also freeze at preparing SD card.

AFAIK magdlr cant read the required settings over the startup.txt still, but it would, read the first post over the magdlr thread by cotulla, it would even load wm6.5 and wp7 builds over NAND! its a matter of time (and patience )

Same here, I installed Mgrldr 1.11 in order to use MDJ nand hd superlight 2.2, but nand is today and at this point too..... Experimental !!!!! to be use daily.
I manage to load my "OLD !" SD Android, but it stucks on homescreen while charging SD card, very frustrating...

[Q] [Question]I have no internal memory and can't install apps

Ok so I installed an Android NAND Rom on my HD2, this is my 3rd ROM I have tried, all the others were fine, but with this one I have no internal memory, it shows up as 0.00b (completely empty) and I am trying to figure out what I can do to fix this problem.
I tried switching back to old ROM's but that did not work. I have also cleared my cache on my phone, that did not work either, anything you guys can do to help me?
Is there anything I can do to use my SD card as my default memory? I have a 16GB card but I can't install apps onto it. I can't install any apps at all. Nothing works.

Please goto ROM Thread and ask cooker about that and flash follow his suggestion

It may be lame suggestion, but try to install stock WinMo rom, and again MAGRLD and different version of CWM_Recovery.
But first try only whit different version of CWM_Recovery.

+1 on this answer, @OP,sounds like you have flashed a large cwm partition layout that has taken up all the space for the system partition, a 400 one perhaps?
Same problem

Same issue here. Installed MIUI 2.9.29 on HD2 Leo. Internal memory shows 0.00B, which cannot be true. I did a complete wipe before installing ROM. Actually, after installing I did also factory reset/wipe cache/ wipe Dalvik, but nothing helps.
Searched for solution on this site and elsewhere, the only plausible advice is "clean reinstall", which is cumbersome for me.
Thanks if you share your thoughts.
EDIT: I used 150MB partition.

Help, Android Freezes, WP7 is fine :S

Ok so the problem im having is when i install an android rom (tried 5 different ones) the phone (EU LEO) suffers from random freezes which then either needs a manual reboot (battery out and in again) or reboots itself! :S The wierd thing is that if i flash WP7 to the phone it works like a charm! Anybody got any ideas?
Thanks, Ben
Edit: Tried a task 29, no luck, could it be an sd card issue after WP7 formats it?

You could try another sd card.
If wiping data/cache/dalvik cache (task29) doesn't work.. There is not that much to say..
Our hd2's are getting older :/
Definitely need to format sd card. Wp7 completely changed partition layout and types. Since you are running a eu hd2 many roms also require a 1gb ext3 or 4 partition for the system to write properly or for a2sd support. One other thing is to check your radio, I know there is a wp7 radio for running windows 7 on hd2 and that is incompatible with android. If you have this radio, flash the latest stock radio and reinstall android
Thanks for the replys guys, tried the sd card didn't work now to try the new radio! Wish me luck!
Which radio do you guys suggest? I'm not sure which one to use!
Cheers
Did you try formatting and repartitioning your SD Card again?. A glitch in the partition will cause random reboots. Have you tried just running Android on SD on its own as normal?(no WP,no partition)...if the same builds you are trying now works fine without any partitions, then its definitely not your phone nor could it be your SD Card...still you might want to try a class 6 SD cars and see if that solves it
I unlocked the SD card after wp7 using the storage unlock tool, then I repartitioned it using CWM recovery. Would you recommended another method of doing this?

Rom crashes :/

Hey guys. I have a problem with my HD2 Device. My first android rom was NexusHD2 Beta1 like 4 months ago. It worked and i had no problems but i decided to install Miui instead of ICS. The Miui rom was really fast and smooth and didnt crash. Now i wanted to get back to ICS with HWA (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1434860).
I did a clean installation but the rom crashes randomly like within 2 minutes. I have no clue why it crashes i will tell you know how i installed it and maybe i forgot something and you can tell me what i did wrong.
I used HD2 Nand Toolkit and used Task29 at first. Then i installed MAGLDR and recovery with 200mb and 5mb cache. Then i opened CWM and installed the Rom. After that i installed Darktremor A2SD like it is said in this FAQ:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wik..._CM9_FAQ#How_shall_I_install_these_scripts.3F
I hope my english is not too bad and you can help me to figure out why my phone crashes .
I took a look at the ROM and the Apps2SD in the XDA Wiki. Are you sure you followed all the directions in the installation instructions of the ROM. You may need to delete the Android folder from your SD card as it does say the following in the ROM thread OP.

Also in the Wiki it says you have to format your SD card. So you may need to format your SD card also.
Yeah could be a problem but i even tried it without A2SD and it still crashed :s
btw thank you for your response!

If it still crashes without the Apps2SD then delete the Adroid folder from your SD card. I went back and edited my first post a little so you may have misssed me mentioning that.
Oh god it seemes that it works now! Its - like everytime - that simple but you Sir are my hero! :'D im really thankful ..

[Q] Android A2SD question

hello,i have a t-mobile HD2 that cannot boot any android rom(SD or NAND)so my guess is that my bad blocks don't let my phone boot Android...so here is my question:with A2SD I install the rom to the SD card(which is virtually converted to NAND or something?) or not??if someone finds any solution about my problem i would be grateful

I don't have any clue what your actual question is supposed to mean, but if you can't install SD Android then it isn't anything to do with bad blocks. You need to give more information, such as which type of HD2 you have, what radio it has, do you have HSPL, what steps you've taken so far etc. Nobody can help without sufficient information.

I still don't quite understand what the actual issue is. Do ANY ROMs boot on your phone? The reason I ask is because you later contradict this original statement by saying something about A2SD moving your apps to the SD card.

A2SD does not install the ROM to NAND nor does it install NAND to SD. It install apps to your SD card, apps that you use on your phone.
NAND ROMs are flashed directly to your phone and completely remove Windows.
SD ROMS are ran from your SD card with your Windows still functioning when you want.

Have you installed MAGLDR and partitioned your internal memory by flashing ClockWorkMod Recovery(CWM)?? And Apps2SD doesnt install any rom. Its just used to transfer applications that run on the internal memory to the sd-ext.(partion of sd card)

I have a hd2 too.
magldr 1.13 .... clockwormod 5.0.2.6 ... Nexushd2 ics 4.0.4 - rom... a2SD-Script ...
200mb nand-partition..5mb cache-partition.. 1 gb ext4-partition and 400 mb swap-partition
I installed my rom witht "hd2 toolkit 4.2.0.1", that can be downloaded here on "xda-developers".
With this tookit you can do followed things:
- Start with a "full wipe" called "task 29" (I think this "task 29" is necessary for your hd2, because of your problems and bad issues you are reporting)
- then partition your nand-memory (for first install i recommen 200mb nand an 40 mb cache - after you recognized that it works, you can reduce cashe to 10 or 5 mb)
- install magldr
- install clockworkmod recovery
- install your rom
