Ok so the problem im having is when i install an android rom (tried 5 different ones) the phone (EU LEO) suffers from random freezes which then either needs a manual reboot (battery out and in again) or reboots itself! :S The wierd thing is that if i flash WP7 to the phone it works like a charm! Anybody got any ideas?
Thanks, Ben
Edit: Tried a task 29, no luck, could it be an sd card issue after WP7 formats it?

You could try another sd card.
If wiping data/cache/dalvik cache (task29) doesn't work.. There is not that much to say..
Our hd2's are getting older :/
Definitely need to format sd card. Wp7 completely changed partition layout and types. Since you are running a eu hd2 many roms also require a 1gb ext3 or 4 partition for the system to write properly or for a2sd support. One other thing is to check your radio, I know there is a wp7 radio for running windows 7 on hd2 and that is incompatible with android. If you have this radio, flash the latest stock radio and reinstall android
Thanks for the replys guys, tried the sd card didn't work now to try the new radio! Wish me luck!
Which radio do you guys suggest? I'm not sure which one to use!
Cheers
Did you try formatting and repartitioning your SD Card again?. A glitch in the partition will cause random reboots. Have you tried just running Android on SD on its own as normal?(no WP,no partition)...if the same builds you are trying now works fine without any partitions, then its definitely not your phone nor could it be your SD Card...still you might want to try a class 6 SD cars and see if that solves it
I unlocked the SD card after wp7 using the storage unlock tool, then I repartitioned it using CWM recovery. Would you recommended another method of doing this?

Flashed some day´s ago WP7 but I reverted to WINMO again... and when I try to put an Android Built on it won´t boot...
I get a cmd lines, kernel something and it get the HTC screen and it get stuck in it... Tryied lot´s of diferent sd builds but the result is the same.
I already formated my sd, tried in other WINMO rom´s and other sd and the result is the same!
I have HSPL 1.66
I have the last radio
I have the same as always and previously the the Android worked fine...
Strange!!!
HELP
Please
You said you formatted your SD card, but did you repartition it? When WP7 is installed it consumes all but 200 MB of your SD card so if you try to reformat it, you will only have 200 MB free unless you repartition it.
Did you say you tried other SD cards? Also, are you running Android from the SD card via Haret from Windows Mobile? Or, are you running a NAND Android ROM?

1- Sure i repartitioned it at full size... wipe de partition, and format a new primary partition in fat32.
2- Android SD via Haret.
Thanks
Do you have Android SDK installed, so that you can run logcat and see what's happening?

Nope, don´t know how
Dont think it´s a problem with the Android SD builds, I tryed some diferent and the problem keeps there...
The problem must be with WP7, but now all is the same as before but Android don´t boot and I need Android but don´t want to but NAND on it right away because I like WINMO still...
Please help, I´m not the only one with this problem...
I get a cmd, black screen and some text, the last is...
"jumping to kernel (custom)"
And them it crashes on the green HTC BOOT SCREEN.

Try Task 29 via bootloader, flash stock HTC ROM, Reformat SD card on PC and then again on WinMo. Transfer files while in WinMo on SD card or via SDcard adapter, and try booting Android again.
Did you by any chance transfer files on SD card while in Magldr if so the files may be corrupted (known issue) which may explain the problem with kernel not booting up.
Hope this helps.
Sorry for hijacking but nobody will reply in my thread and I'm becoming impatient lol. Can anybody help me?
Hey guys. I'm currently running this ROM, I've been using it for a few days and have had no problems but today, when I turned the phone off and turned it back on, it took ages to turn back on. Then when it did it all looked them same but was kept freezing etc., then up in the notification bar it said "SD Card Removed Unexpectedly" then my phone went crazy with FC's.
So I took out the battery and restarted the phone. Then, it would turn on and go to the lock screen but then it would reboot and be at a continuius* boot loop of the HTC 'Quietly Brilliant' screen.
So then I took out the battery again, this time I took out the SD card too and booted up and my phone was normal again. Obviously with no phone storage though as there was SD card in. Then after I just skipped the setup I put my SD card back in to my phone and went to the music player and all my saved songs on my SD card played. But no internal storage (I have the SD card partitioned with a 1GB Ext3 partition). Then with the SD card in knowing it still works I rebooted again, only to come back to the HTC screen again.
So basically, how can I fix this?
If I'm going to need to format my SD card is there a way I can backup what's in the Ext3 partition?
Thanks,
L.

lrbpereira - I'm the guy that posted having the same results as you in your other thread (this one seems to be getting all the action, though). Just curious, which ROM are you trying? I've been trying Warrenbread's, but I'm thinking about trying another just to give it a shot.

Hi, i´m on Dutty´s 14 PTG. I tryed Energy and the result was the same...
I think it´s someting that WP7 installed on the phone memory... Don´t know why task29 don´t resolve it... But I can´t put the Android SD working...
And it´s seams that this is a problem that isn´t only mine... you - koz - have it too...

Sorry, I should have been a bit more clear - I was curious what Android ROM you were trying to run from SD. Have you found a solution to this yet? Did you try flashing back to a stock ROM, then HSPL & then try an android rom from SD? I'm considering giving this a shot, but I haven't had the time lately.
EDIT: I resolved my issue by reformatting the SD again (I've done it multiple times & multiple ways). This way worked for me. First, back up everything you want to keep from your SD card onto your PC. Download this & install on your PC: http://download.cnet.com/Partition-...62200.html?part=dl-6285158&subj=dl&tag=button . With SD card in the phone, connect to the PC in USB mass storage mode. Start Partion Wizard and format the card to FAT32 at 32kb and as a primary drive. After that, drag-n-drop your flavor of Android onto your SD and boot it up. Hope it works for you.
EDIT 2: After getting android running, I reinstalled all my files/folders back onto the SD card, however, this broke android again (I couldn't get it to boot from SD). So I tried turning it into airplane mode while running windows mobile - and it worked. I can now boot to android from SD as long as I first turn on airplane mode. So, I don't know if the above reformatting was part of it. If someone gives this a try, it might be good to turn on airplane mode and try to boot before attempting the above formatting info. Please post results if you try it and I'll try to edit the above.
Hi all
It's the second time that, after restarting my phone, it loses the graphic interface
first with a DFT rom and after reinstalling Xbmod nodo rom it gives me the same problem.
Nothing to do I had to reinstall a fresh rom
SDCard problem? Any idea?

U should try using a different SD Card, ur SD card may not be compatible with wp7 :/
Thx
I'm trying now to install xbmod on my brand new sandisk 16Go C4 SDHC Card
I'll tell you what's the matter with it
If this is an sd card issue then you should buy a windows phone compatible sd card. ATT sells them. Only 8gb as of right now but im using it as we speak and i havent one reboot since. Purchase price is $32.00 (actually says windows phone on the packaging)
I have a similar problem, after installing W7 on HD2,
I synced google account and then just wanted to try soft restart,
but the phone went to constant restart mode - it shows green HTC text on white backround, then MAGLDR screen, then W7 boot picture and then restarts again in cycles.
removing SIM does not help.
removing SD will boot to where it sayes I have SD error and can only make emergency calls.
What was your solution?
how to I get back to MAGLDR menu to reistall W7?
I have tried Sandisk 8GB (class 2 and class 4 both) and Transcend 4GB class 4 , with no issues.
I Too faced the same issue during Flashing of XbModROM on my HD2, and I started the mobile few times without sdcard, and again put it back in.
I assume its like my old celeron PC recognizing a dead CD-ROM.
I still have this problem and there seems to be no solution.
a fresh install of WP7 works fine, without crashing, but I have to take care that battery wont drain, because after the first shut-down WP7 wont load, and I have to do a reinstall.
##TRY##
use the unlocker tool to unlock ur SD card,
and use HD2s Stock ROM
and start install from scratch, remember to format the SD card on fat32 (using a nokia phone if possible

i had the same issues when flashing xbox/yuki xda rom. try doing a couple of hard resets. strangely enough that worked after about four of them lol and my phones been working great since. its probably your sd card as well. ive used a few class 4 cards to no avail. i'm currently using the stock sandisk 16gb class 2 card i got with my hd2 and it hasnt failed me yet
okey,
my solution was - I bought a new microSD card, and now it has loaded for 10 times, so -> problem solved!?
Now i'm trying all options to unlock the 8gig card I had problems with - so to use it elsewhere.
Hello,
I've bought an used HD2 (my last one got stolen) and I did every step of this guide (i did this before on multiple HD2's):
http://www.jayceooi.com/2011/08/15/how-to-install-cwm-nand-android-on-htc-hd2-video/
but when I install MIUI (latest and second latest version), it freezes at the slide to unlock screen. I've done a task29, tried again with MIUI and again the same problem. I tried with Typhoon latest stable ROM and it got stuck in a reboot loop.
Is this HD2 broken or is there something else I can do?
ps: my sd card is a sandisk 8 GB, class 4
just to be sure, have you formatted your sd?
Yes, i formatted it in fat32 with my mac and created than an ext3 partition of 1 GB with MAGDLR/CWR
i tried with multiple sd cards too
maybe it is related to famous bad blocks in nand. try larger cwr partitions. to be exact if rom suggests 5-150-5 , make for instance 10-180-10 etc.
So if i boot a rom from sd, it should work if the pronlem is caused by the bad blocks?
yes. sd roms arent affected by bad blocks.you can try 3dak's miui or americandroid. so you can figure it out if the reason is related to internal memory or something else.
i'm able to replace the phone,so i will do that. (I probably need all thr internal memory to run ICS, so i cant afford bad blocks). Does someone know how to get this phone back to stock?

I installed [19.7.2012][NT 8779 V1 18L 3La 3Lb]LEO_ML_51240101_R_5710902a_22515021 by ansar. Before I had this rom installed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=953078. I had SPL-2.08.HSPL, Radio 2.15 and DFT MAGLDR Bootloader v1.13 installed. While using the HD2O© WP7 8779 (TANGO) The phone worked fine, I even was able to attain a activation code. (did it all in like 4 hours really late last night). So this morning I just flashed the one I said i installed 2nd above and thats when I started getting this problem. Ive tried the methods of the 1234 reset and things. So wondering if i have to go all the way back to stock 6.5 and work my way back again or if there is something that I can do. Because even booting up without SD card i still get the same error message.
did you format your card in PC before flashing new ROM?
sometimes behavior with SDcards is unpredictable... almost all problems in HD2 WP7 is related to SDcards...

0k so i was able to get past it by going into madglr and pressing reset. But unfortunently the phone won't recognize any of my 3 sd card. 2 are 2gb and one is a 4gb. Is there anyway to get it to recognize them?

per other posts and threads...it's a hit and miss with sd cards. personally, i've never had any sd card issues using yuki rom, but roms from other chefs have caused sd card compatibility issues. there is something about the base wp7 rom by those other chefs which causes sd issues. i have used sandisk, 3c, topram, lex brands...no problems with yuki, but causes problems with pdaj, hd2o, and ansar roms.
and fyi...there's no need to format the sd prior to using with wp7. wp7 will reformat the whole card anyway.
another issue you may have with your sd card is if you used them with yuki. if this is the case, you need to reinstall base yuki, install devstorageunlock cab, unlock sd card, then you can use the cards with roms by other chefs.
Hello folks, having issues with android on my hd2..
currently running
NexusHD2-JellyBean-CM10_V1.2 (nativesd) flashed with recovery 4ext
2.15.50.40 radio (always used this radio)
16gb class 10 samsung microsd
at present getting this error constantly when trying do anything
android.process.acore has stopped
...and being very laggy
i was getting similar problems with a the NexusHD2 ICS rom i was using which was a NAND rom flashed with ad recovery
I always task29 etc after every new rom install.
can anyone help with this as it has been driving me crazy!
Regards
Anthony
there's no need to "always task29" when you install a new rom either in nand or nativesd, you could already have bad blocks or a failing HW.
re-do it again & try changing your sd, also try a more stable ROM first like GB, if the problem persist then it might be HW problem

when you say bad blocks... do you mean on the NAND? and if so..wouldnt a task 29 fix this?
also... if I were to use a NAND rom..is changing my sd likely to help? as i thought everything was installed on the phone memory itself when using NAND rom...??
Also forgot to mention im using a HTC extended battery...but never had a problem previously
Thanks for your quick reply
ah! AFAIK there are kernels that are not compatible with some extended batteries, as for task29 the more you read-write to nand the more likely you will have bad blocks. I have flashed maybe more than a hundred times but i task29 only twice or trice since i got the phone.
even if you flashed to nand some files are placed in sd, anyways you could try NATIVESD, see the links below & give it a try

i know about the issues with the extended batterys.. i used to have a problem when i first got the battery where the phone would not boot up and just go in a loop but this was years ago... and since then roms have been sorted... and never had an issue since so i dont think its the battery
already tried NATIVESD as mentioned in my first post
this phone has only been task29 a few times... is there anyway to check for bad blocks
sd card is pretty new too so id be surprised if its the sd card...but I will get another and try flashing again
Okay so i went out and got a verbatim class 4 4gb microsd before...
obviously being class 4 its not fast enough for nativesd...
i created ext4 partition 2GB
and what space was left was allocated to fat32 partition
so i flashed NexusHD2-Gingerbread_V3.3a-(Android-2.3.7).zip to NAND as per instructions here....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905060
using cLK_1.4.0.1_bootloader_for_NexusHD2_135M.zip also mentioned in the thread
Rom seems to be okay...no errors and no lag... but it says i have 0.00b of internal memory
why is this happening?

Anthony
