Looking to return my phone back to stock. 347 isn't posted on the wiki. Anyone have this baseband? Much appreciated!
Noone has 347 backed up, unless someone can get dell to retroactively release the 347 pkg the best you can do is not touch the firmwares and nandroid back to it.
You can also upgrade to 351 and the like
i have nandroid backup of 347rom
i have completed a nandroid backup of 347 fresh out of the box successfully with multiflasher but i need to complete 6 more posts before xda allows my to show the upload links so bare with me, should have them on xda by tonight
While it wouldnt hurt to upload another fresh 347 nandroid it doesnt contain the baseband/other firmwares. Nandroid simply isnt capable of backing them up
oh ok, sorry wasnt aware of that. noob on the streak here, i thought nandroid did full backup of the entire unit?
tho i must say i love the streak, coming from an iphone 3gs, the streak blows that out of the water, and after being in the iphone jailbreaking community for a few years and moving to the streak equivelant, i now feel i was really silver spoon fed with the jailbreak programs, its good to now feel abit more challenged again, its taken me a fair few amount of days of reading about how stock/custom roms, flashing, recovery images, streakmod, clockwork mod, multirecovery flasher, nandroid, rooting, etc all work and to understand the process thoroughly before i jumped in.

what do you mean by other firmwares? im now confused on what nandroid actually does? i was under the impression that if i did a nandroid backup then updated to another dell or cusom rom i could then always jump back to 347 if i needed to, i thought it was the alternative to using the update.pkg which does not come with 347 streaks, i thought it was my failsafe.
im on 351 now and feel its much better than 347 but the lag on the touchscreen blows on both roms, does the streakdroid 1.9.1 rom stop that effect? i feel like im moving my screen around with a rubber band attached
Nandroid backups
Here are my fresh ootb 347 nandroid back ups anyways for reference

dell streak 347 firstboot.img http://www.multiupload.com/5MN27PTS3U
dell streak 347 nandroid.md5 http://www.multiupload.com/ESY72WX7IK
dell streak 347 recovery.img http://www.multiupload.com/D6AITJHGPG
dell streak 347 system.img http://www.multiupload.com/6M6EGTU879
Thank you Sc00terage.
no worries mate,
but from what TheManii says, the nandroid backups dont change the baseband, so your probably better off to update streak to 351 pkg, i found it was slightly better than 347 anyhow.

yea i have 1 1.5 just in case
rest are 2.1 of various settings and dev's
Atm I have 2, my back up rom, and a version of my main rom that I haven't themed yet, just in case.
But I had 15 before I deiced to clean it up a little bit yesterday (I just got a bigger sdcard and that was right when OC came out, so I was a little bit flash happy lol)
I have two backups on sd card, couple on my hard drive. I'm running gumbo 1.5c, but when i was playing with 2.1 roms, I always had a gumbo backup.
None. Backups are fo' suckas.
I have 0 backups.
I am horrible about getting to excited and flashing before I backup.

I dont get excited to flash, I just dont care enough to backup. Its just as easy for me to make an update flashable .zip with more tweaks I come up with...
I have 2.
Fresh1.5 and Fresh2.0d from my last theme update. Since then I'm happy with the ROM, Theme and performance.
i don't back up either. mainly because i'm not sure how to use nandroid!
3 backups:
pancake 1.5
my fixxxedrom without sense
a stock image
i just realized that astro can backup applications! that's the only thing i would want backed up. cool.
One for emergencies. The rest are on my computer for safe keeping.
I have 3!
I had about 12 of them until yesterday. Now I have three.
0
10chars
On my SD I always have one, on my computer I have about 9
I dont keep more than 5 or 6 at the most
in the last 5 months i've probably deleted 30 or more, lol
i only keep 2. my stock backup from my original root (also safely tucked away on my pc :]) and the last nandroid i did before making any major edits (i.e. flashing a new rom, any flashing at all in fact)
quick/dumb question. i did a nandroid backup. what does a restore do? if i flash to a new rom & restore a nandroid, will that work? does it restore my apps/contacts/settings/etc? or does it restore to the previous rom that nandroid backed up?
Thx to blade765. Doing just as simple as a restore.

Works like a charm! I was running the 2.3.320 leak on the 30.04 bootloader, the nandroid brought me back to 2.3.151, factory reset also works for 2.3.151.
Very handy

I'm surprise not many people are on the leak lol. This Guy got the new ota and then kept the bootloader and other crap to help people downgrade using the newest bootloader keys etc. Pretty cool.

I would read this before continuing this process of reverting back to 2.3.151
by P3droid:
"There is a lot of bad info and danger going on, if you restore a nandroid you have not reset your phone to 2.3.151 or 2.3.15, what you have done is put your phone's system on the lower system but not the entire firmware. One of the major parts is the kernels which is not backed up or restored with a nandroid, but needs to be exact for a patch to work...be careful..it may work it may not"
You could end up bricking your phone. Just wait for TBH to come out with the fix is my recommendation.
was just passing along since people were having good results with this. for some people that don't wanna wait or so. just waiting for tbh app to notify me lol.

I just recently saw his twitter post, good thing I made a backup before doing anything. I am back on 2.3.320 and watching the team black hat app
Geeze....here too? Ugh.... this file was NOT meant to allow people to use older sbf's (which is what a lot of people tried to do). It was ONLY meant to make the phone appear to be stock again, for those that had to bring their devices in for warranty, etc. It was not meant for HALF of what people were doing with it.
As for the .340 update, we are unclear on whether that would work without a hitch. I'd LOVE to wash my hands of this, lol. My mistake I suppose. Should have been clearer. P3 brought this up to me, and I went around and updated all the threads I could find, only to think I was done, and stumble upon it here.
Just trying to help, I swear...
Just tested something, thought I would share it here as well:
If you try to install the official OTA from either .320 OR this nandroid, you will fail a fingerprint check that the system automatically does. You will have to upgrade to the newest firmware the same way you upgraded to the leaked version.
Here's what you need to do!!
First, make a NANDROID BACKUP of your stock, rooted setup.
TRUST ME on this, you'll use it to do things like GPS fixes, PRL updates etc.
Use Amon Ra. DON'T use ROM Manger. Backup everything except Cache.
On that Nandroid you'll want Titanium Back Up, GPS Status and updated Maps installed.
For ROMS, if it were me, and I knew what I did now, I would start with the Sense ROMS, since you're used to that, just to see what a GOOD Sense ROM feels like.
Always wipe everything in Amon Ra, except the SD Card itself (Although people will argue with me that it's not necessary). Trust me on this, too, ok?? Just do a full wipe and erase any doubts when you have issues that it was wipe related.
Then, once you realize that Sense is boring, give CM 7 a shot, or better yet, MIUI!
AND READ READ READ READ READ as much as you can before you do dumb things.
And conratz!! It's about time!
Exactly what i was looking for, thanks! :]
Thanks! I was looking for this as well, in the process of creating a complete backup with amon ra. Was kinda wondering what I should flash tho, sense bores me
I've had them all, and I'm locked in MIUI now
So you're saying backup the following?
Boot
System
Data
Recovery
Wimax
Sd-ext
.andriod-secure
that's everything but cache - why not cache?
Also, what's a good rom if Battery life is most important... one that undervolts?
Cache is just temp files. You don't need them, but everything else, yes.
You only need boot data system and Wimax. I reccomend using a format all zip between rom flashes.

What do you recommend for backing up SMS?
I entered my beta key and I'm stuck at zerging root....
its been around 5 minutes.

This thread isn't the place for help rooting. Plenty of others, or post in Q&A.
Key thing is to backup, at least, your WIMAX. It's almost impossible to lose your WIMAX partition anymore, but better be safe than sorry.
You could nandroid everything.. but it's kind of pointless. There are RUUs out to flash back to stock, and zips you can flash too. Mainly just ease of use since the nandroid will already be on your SDcard.
Also as hipkat says, do yourself a favor and don't use ROM Manager. Don't use CWM recovery either (well, it's up to you but it's pretty old now). Amon_RA is the mature stable recovery, and the TeamWin recovery is the new kid on the block... functional but not as robust yet.
Sorry about that lad, and yeah I will backup everything if I can get the damn thing to work
It looks like quite a few people are having issues. Just hang tight and see if there is a fix.
Also check the guide over in the development section to make sure you got the step %100.
Well, I just got it!, uninstalled HTC sync and drivers, reinstalled the HTC drivers and ran the .exe zerging root passed!
Said no to Clockwork and installed Amon RA from fastboot, then flashed SU and now I'm ready to backup

I use SMS Backup and Restore by Ritesh Sahu from the market. Haven't had any problems so far.

+1 - I would recommend getting Root Explorer and flashing a kernel to help extend the battery. You may also look into WIFI Tether
Thanks for this defiantly useful...time to start flashing
Thanks for the reminder, I am new to rooting this phone. (Not new to rooting, had HTC phones from G1 and MT3G, in those I am GTG.) Installed CM7 latest one. But I am interested in MIUI ones and the videos looks awesome!!!
MIUI has come a long way form when I tried it a few months ago...
Sick. Thanks for the heads up. Also, I appreciate the To-Do List. This is my first venture into rooting, so as you can imagine, it all seems a bit overwhelming at first.

NP! That's why I'm here!
hi there - with the DX's bootloader being what it is I'm wondering whether I can safely restore Froyo Nandroid Backups to my DX after I upgraded it to Gingerbread?
I want to take the leap to GB but want to know if I can safely restore if I run into any problems. I don't have another device and need mine for work so doing this is risky for me if something goes wrong.
although I suppose worst comes to worst I could always buy a pre-pay phone from VZ and put my SIM in it - but whatever.
Restoring a nandroid will cause your phone to get stuck at the Motorola logo.
You can, however, flash the Froyo 2.3.340 SBF file to return to Froyo. Note that flashing an SBF will return your phone to a new state. But after SBFing you can restore your nandroid backup.

After getting my TF101 back with a new screen (Thanks Asus for giving me the benefit of the doubt) I'm happy as a pig in mud. So I bought a keyboard/dock cheap off Ebay, with Chinese/English characters. The extra battery life and USB sockets are sweet.
Anyways, I've been running Revolver, so I haven't had any OTA updates. After nandroid & titanium backups I reloaded a stock ROM (WW_epad-user-8.6.5.21.zip) and waited. Sure enough, Asus updated it to ICS. Which is pretty. Nice user interface, looks a lot like my daughter's iPad. Apps all work, everything seems good. Took me a while to re-root it, cause I forgot to protect root using OTA rootkeeper.
Until I watched some video, using my bluetooth headphones. I used Skifta to stream from my PC - and got horrible lag between video and audio. Tried everything, including different video types, playing direct from the uSD card, using ES file explorer and playing from there... and no change.
So... I attempted to restore from my Nandroid backup. Even though I cleared user data, cache and dalvik, it got stuck on the initial Asus screen and wouldn't move from there. I had to manually get it into recovery then re-install revolver from scratch. And then restore all my apps from Titanium backup.... ending up pretty much where I was before ICS.
I'll be watching for news on audio sync. ICS is great, apart from this.
Then again, Revolver hasn't let me down. Thanks heaps, Gnufabio!
Just FYI, nandroid back up doesn't restore the kernel.
You should have flashed Revolver first and then restore your nandroid back up on top of it.
Strewth, didn't know that. I've still got the nandroid backup, I'll flash it again now I've got revolver up and running. Thanks Horndroid.
