Hello everyone.
I have an original HTC Wildfire and I had done to root, OC, put a series of ROM (WildPuzzle, DK, etc..) And now I brought it to the STOCK ROM.
Too bad that any ROM go to install, and even with the STOCK ROM, there is to send / receive MMS!
I tried everything, even downloading the application "APN Italians" from Market, but ... nothing ...!!!
I do not know what to do, I always "Network general error".
I state that before he started doing various flash ROM, etc.., MMS worked fine!
Who can help me, or simply those who have flashed several ROMs but send / receive MMS working?!?
Thank you.
Ciao...

Mmm... Service Center Number is only for SMS, not for MMS, I think.
However, it seems there is a problem with X AlphaRev causing non-functioning send / receive MMS.
Someone AlphaRev X installed and was able to send / receive MMS?
I succeed with alpharevx but on cm7-rc1 rom, but i had to downgrade radio from newest to one version older...when i find out wich one i will tell you...
And after getting tired of all experimenting, I instaled original ruu, installed s-on again hboot 1.0001, and installed ruu again, and reset phone to default state and mms was workibg like it should...
So either cm7 with older radio, or stock rom...
Hope it helps, I will write youbdown wich radio I flashed on cm7

"installed s-on again hboot 1.0001"... how do I do?
Do you have a LINK with the explanation?
There is the risk of brik the phone?!?
HELP...
To downgrade from AlpharevX hboot to 1.01.0001 follow this instruction it is great:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1160251
1. install wildfire ruu from shipped roms
2. do the guide from link above
3. again install ruu when you downgraded and you're done
after this you have stock rome, with proper setup wizzard at the beginning, all the HTC wallpapers, MMS and internet APN's for your provider (hey... for telenor Serbia it's there no matter what rom i installed stock or kitchen) nad everything works flawlessly also if you follow step by step instruction there is so small possibility to brick your phone that it is not considerable....
I must tell you that me or member who put this guide are not responsible for any damage you do to your phone, so READ CAREFULLY
Cheers

My current setup is as follows:
BUZZ PVT SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-6.01.1002
MICROP-0622
TOUCH PANEL-SYN3KY_01
RADIO-3.35.20.10
Nov 17 2010,12:08:53
Why should I go from HBOOT hboot 1.01.0001 to 01.06.1002-?
Even if my boot screen shows the S-OFF want to say that in reality are not in S-OFF?!?
I did not understand ...
The problem may be due to the fact that I used AlpharevX when my boot are HBOOT-6.01.1002?!?
Does anyone else understands what this man is talking about??? Sorry mate but i dont quite understand what are you talking about... guide I show to you is how to revert from s-off to s-on, by reverting from alpharevx hboot to stock hboot... also told you that if you whant mms on cm7 you should downgrade radio (be carful there, brick possible if you do something wrong so read carefully instructions) from 3.35.20.20.10 version to one lower... that did trick for me...
I hope that you find solution quick...

You went in 6.01.1002 Hboot when you used Alpharev x to became S-off. They're telling you to go back to 1.01.0001 Hboot that probably was your Hboot before S-off. Pay attention to the numbers.

without problems - alpharevx s-off, cm-7.1.0-rc1 - but only when connection is set to 3g/2g - only 2g has limited support in Poland (play), with this setting (2g) i'm unable sent/receive mms-es
Has anybody solved MMS problems without going back to the old stock ROMS? i mean, we rooted our phone and flashed CM7 or any other ROMs in the first place because we do not want to be tied down, we want to be free. Why go back to that which confines us? We should overcome this minor bump and not surrender.
So, I have a rooted HTC wildfire running on CM7.1.0.1-buzz,
radio 13.55.55.24H_3.35.20.10, s-off of course.
I initially had GPS problems after completing installation but after reflashing a newer radio version, I was able to correct this problem. I am not sure but I think radio also controls the way your phone communicate with your local network, not sure though, and I am at my wits end here trying to find the thread that tackles MMS problems for our device.
Anyway, I hope that there is someone out there who has solved this particular problem and that they post it here. I will still try to solve this problem by myself by reflashing an older radio version or tweaking some network settings, btw, I am using GO SMS as my messenger. I tried using messenger supplied by CM7 but still no success.
If I will be able to solve this problem, rest assured, I will post it here immediately.
So, what do you say guys, let's help each other, please
mms
i had a lot of issuse with this so i thought id input how i solved it. to start off with it i am on o2 uk, and after i switched to cyanogenmod my mms stopped working, now ive heard that some carriers need 2 apn connections to use the internet and mms but o2 only needs one. so i went to their shop and i got the settings and the expert in the shop said that htc wildfires can have issues getting mms to work and sometimes need there ports and proxys set up and stuff. so i tried it with all the right settings but still no joy. but, i deleted all of my apn settings,(there were lots, like 9 or something) so i had none left and then i only inserted the one from the 02 guys and it worked! so it may be you need the right ports and proxy settings, or it might just be that cyanogenmod has an issue with too many apn`s saved. again, just how i got it going ao i hope this helps

First of all sir, I would like to say thank you for your quick reply. I will be applying your solution to my problem and I hope I will also have the same success like you. I checked my APN and it has quite a number of settings. I will be getting the APN settings of my network provider and inserting it to my APN, ports and proxy settings. Crossing my fingers now. Once again, a big THANK YOU. Rock on dude

After spending some time with a HTC Magic and changing to custom firmwares so I do have some experience with changing firmware etc. But recently I got a Vodafone HTC Legend and I want to debrand it I came across instructions on how to do it but I wanted to know a bit more about the HBOOT, Radio versions etc so I have got my handset details at hand if someone could give me a hand please

I wa planning on debranding to a non-vodafone Legend software as the Vodafone software has a bug with the SMS where it always shows the old messages first and have to scroll to the end.
I have downloaded the following stock RUU ROMs and wanted to know which one to use for here in the UK
RUU_Legend_HTC_WWE_2.03.405.3_Radio_47.39.35.09_7.08.35.21_release_130330_signed.exe
RUU_Legend_hTC_Asia_HK_CHT_2.06.708.2_Radio_47.39.35.09_7.08.35.21_release_136396_signed.exe
RUU_Legend_HTC_WWE_2.03.405.3_Radio_47.39.35.09_7. 08.35.21_release_130330_signed.exe
That one
Or root and use CM.
That issue with the SMS is really annoying. I am with Vodafone aswell. Is debranding the only way to resolve it?
That or downgrade the Vodafone branded ROM. It's the same process, just use a different RUU...

Just to say I did go and change my ROM from te vodafone branded one to this HTC one, I didn't want to root and try different ROMs as I got myself in a bit of a loop when I had the Magic and couldn't find a stable enough ROM that did what I wanted.

The method I used was
1, create goldcard
2, downgraded to 1.31.405.5
3, upgraded to RUU_Legend_HTC_WWE_2.03.405.3_Radio_47.39.35.09_7. 08.35.21_release_130330_signed.exe
and now I have the a great ROM without any Vodafone adjustments and NO Vodafone SMS issues.

The SMS bug wasn't introduced by Vodafone, it was HTC. Also, you could've gone straight from whatever ROM you had to RUU_Legend_HTC_WWE_2.03.405.3_Radio_47.39.35.09_7. 08.35.21_release_130330_signed.exe. No need for the 1.31 version in the middle.

You did what I'd have done. It's only in retrospect we see the shortcuts. It's what learning is. You did the right thing.
No matter what spl/radio/rom i use it resets the after trying to turn on wifi in Settings. But also, sometimes works for days. It already happened 4 times, so i sought to get help. Here is a logcat of the event.
http://pastebin.com/rnxj34Ee
Just after the end of the logcat it reboots without warning. I'm hopping some android guru can help. I've tried to disable compcache and lower vmheap to 12 but no luck.
Oh, and another thing. This command "getprop ro.cid" doesn't show anything. Not related to above, but still a problem.

You need to take this to your ROM dev they aren't going to stumble across it here. Post it in the appropriate section for the ROM you are using there the dev will see it.
Like i said it's not rom related. It happens with all the roms i've tried. I've changed many radio/spls and roms.

EDIT - Are you on 32A or 32B hardware?
Have you SAPPIMG'd back to Cupcake, then manually applied the OTA updates to 1.6 and then 2.2? You need to completely unroot this thing all the way and get it back to bone stock before you continue to troubleshoot.
It's possible you have bad hardware and need warranty replacement from T-mobile.
The links for everything you need are in my sig. If any of the links are dead, pm me. I have the files in my DropBox.
Very nice and thanks. But i can't sync it with HTC Sync, doesn't see it. And it was originaly on Vodafone Spain, so is your sappimg going to work on it? It's a 32b board, btw. Further help is appreciated, because i wanted to return to stock rom but i could not.

I'm glad you asked! I did a little research and it appears that this file is for the mt3g on t-mobile ONLY. This thread is a fairly complete list of original RUU files, so the one you want should be in there.

EDIT - Check #35 on the list.
Hi,
After last update in dec/jan from HTC my GPS is most of the time not working at all and sometimes get a fix after a VERY long time. When I get a fix it's ually very unstable and only for a short time.
I have been searching the internett for a soulution with no luck and is patient waiting for Gingerbread to arrive for HD witch I hope can fix the problem since I am not happy to send my phone in for service witch usally takes weeks.
Anyone with a similar problem and hopefully a soulution for this most irritating problem??
Regards..
If your phone had Eng s-off, you could try flashing an alternate radio.
But first of all you could delete / reset the a-gps data, get a fresh fix.
1. Download Gps Status from the market.
2. Enable gps and 3g data or WiFi.
3. Run app.
4. Phone menu / tools / manage a-gps state / reset / download
5. Get a clear view of the sky and first fix shouldn't take too long.
6. After that, repeat every few days, or if you've traveled great distance without using the gps in between.

I was in the same situation after the update in December to version 1.72. The total amount of bugs in that version made me tired of waiting for a new software.
I sat down and read as much as I could about rooting and after installing Android Revolution 4.0 along with a new radio my GPS get a fix all the time.
I'm a noobie, and got it right. It's worth the effort.
Thanks - I will look into this.
I also think this could be the soulution but have been waiting patient for Gingerbread to avoid rooting.
As, in my first post, you said "you already tried this". I assume you were referring to the App & not the radio.?
Edit: just read your next post, if you haven't rooted, well you won't have eng s-off and therefore not able to install a new radio yet....... do the answer would be app only.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Yes, sorry.. I see that now.
I did not answer to all your suggestions yesterday because I did not know what "Eng s-off" was so I did not understand....
Today I have read a lot about rooting so I will try this soon. I have not rooted any android devices before but have done it with several Windows Mobile devices so hopefully I will manage this without the biggest problems... time will show
If I only do the downgrade, will I then still have stock rom but the previous version?
Maybe GPS will work ok then??
If I root my phone will I be able to put in new HTC Gingerbread stock rom without problem when it arrives?
Thanks again for reply and help!
So you are talking about downgrade, I assume your build is higher than 1.32? If so, here are a few guides for you, some by the same Dev; If not, The Visionary, S-off & Eng S-off will still be applicable.
If you haven't already, ADB needs to be setup on the PC; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=532719 . There are a few around and may pay to find the latest downloads.
If your phone is carrier branded/regional (1.84) you may have to make a goldcard first. It has been advised by some to have a seperate 2gb sdcard for this, and keep in a safe place, as you may require this if you every ned to downgrade easily in future.
How to downgrade to 1.32.405.6 WWE .
One click Radio S-OFF tool including using Visionary tool
One click ENG S-OFF
By having Eng S-off, this will enable you to falsh a different or newer radio, what has the possibility to increase (or even decrease) performance of your gps, 2g/3g, wifi, BT etc, but has risks (read all warnings). Having S-off only will allow you to flash custom ROMs & kernels etc. (Before that, I suggest to use CWM Recovery to backup your existing ROM and keep on your PC as well) so I wouldn't worry about missing out.
Doing all this has it's risks, so if you go down this road, I suggest that you read everything twice, make sure battery is fully charged before hand, and have everything downloaded ready. Read the FAQ in each thread and as much of the recent posts as you can. Most rooting problems experienced seem to be by people not following the guides exactly, being unprepared, and not doing enough reading first....and possibly language barrier.
You could of course wait for the official Gingerbread release, but the radio that may come, may not suit you. So you could be back at square one.
If you use a custom ROM, you will not be able to receive OTA updates, but as I said, the Devs will have something new and updated in no time. Also, if you still use the stock 1.32 with root, you can still recieve OTA updates, but if you do update, you will lose root & most probably the flashed radio, and have to downgrade again.
Edit: If you use a custom ROM, the OP will more than likely state a recommeded radio to flash so it matches the ROM for best overall performance. Obviously, your carrier 2g/3g signal quality will play a big part in this, others have found that trying other radios is better for them.
The options are in your hands. Hope I've helped.

Have been working a lot with the phone lately and have now new Revolution Rom and new radio! All working nice and with Gingerbread
BUT - still no GPS fix so I am about to give up, I was really hoping that new rom and radio would solve the problem - but the phone is still not able to get a full fix.
Have also used Faster Fix and GPS Status with no help.
Yesterday after a long time I managed to get a fix on 2 satelites. This is the first time my phone have "seen" a satelite in weeks but 2 is not enough and today no fix again.
Maybe I should install a different radio?
Is it the radio or rom or bought that is controlling the GPS modul?
Or maybe just unroot the phone again and send it back to HTC for replacement??
Really tired of this problem now - I want my GPS back!!!!!

Have you seen this solution:
androidforums.com/desire-hd-support-troubleshooting/235833-navigation-gps-problem.html
Hello,
thanks again for all god help and advices!
I have now done "everything" and gone from no GPS at all to a GPS fix in about 10 minutes under perfect conditions - a fix that seems very weak/unstable - witch means that the GPS is still not working at all for normal use
I have;
Downgraded
Installed Revolution HD 4.0 rom with radio _12.41.60.19_26.06.04.14_M
Changed radio today to _12.48.60.23U_26.08.04.07_M3
Tried different solutions as sim card out/in, GPS status and Faster Fix...
Latest radio have got very positive feedback from other users who had the same problem as me, several tells that they had no GPS and now get a fix in seconds...
I also have a Xperia Mini and a Galaxy Tab - they also get a fix in seconds...
For my DHD that is not the case and I feel I have come to the end of the road and that this problem is not meant to be solved.....
Maybe it is hardware related?? Or another radio will do the job???
I dont know.
At least a have learned a lot about rooting and other Android stuff
Thanks to all of you for taking time and trying to help me and for this good forum - I really appreciate that - THANKS
Regards
No problem. All I can suggest is try a few more radios and don't forget to use gps status and clear & dl fresh agps data each time. If you have then tried everything & still no go, ..... back to HTC. Best of luck.
Edit: if you need to return it, you may not need to downgrade back to stock / branded. It has been reported that these are only software mods that don't void warranty. I personally would return it to original or at least try before returning.

When I'm at home, i sometimes lose service, but even when I do have service i have to try an average of 20 times before a text i send actually goes out. Also i can't recieve or make phone calls.
When im at work though, i have no problem what so ever. Everything works like a charm, and thats why i'm confused. I already contacted Vodafone, they say there isn't anything wrong with there network and my phone should work.
So any tips on what I could do? Flash a different ROM? Reflash this one? (because there was a country wide problem with the Vodafone network whilst i was installing this rom)
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks for reading, Greetings Thierry
You should check which radio you have on your hd2.
2.15er radio is recommended for usage with android

Im currently on 2.15.50.14 radio.
I saw it was recommended in some guys guide. So that shouldn't be the problem if im correct?
Yes it shouldn´t be.
Hmm to make sure that software is okay do a complete reflash or try another ROM.
Could be also the kernel.
Try this one and flash it via CWM
Ok im reflashing this rom cause i really love it
Hope it will refresh some service settings or something. Im thinking maybe he got some fault settings when the vodafone network was down, i dont know. Hoping

Ok so, i did this:
- Reflashed the MIUI rom. (same problem)
- Flashed dif. rom. (same problem)
- Reflashed MIUI rom. (same problem)
- Flashed new kernel. (same problem)
Any other ideas?
Oh yeh and i use clockwork
Okay you can do following :
Run task29 (will erase everything except bootloader) : do some search for the prog and the how to!
Go into bootloader to
Flash magldr and flash it
Flash clockwork mod with right partition etc
Flash new rom.
Otherwise it's a network problem or a hardware (but i don't think so since you said it works if you are not at home).

Wait that could be it, i flashed 250mb when i got my phone back from the repair guys.
But before that i used the 150mb one, could that be it?

It depends on how much space your rom needs.
You should see the roms thread to check what layout it needs and how much space.
But if it's still the same rom like you had before (and if it was working before like it should) flash a 150mb layout
Probably this is the issue

Arghhh I think it's the network.
It shouldn't be your phone since we checked the main possibilities :/

You are welcome
Write me a pm about what they told you
Maybe you should flash windows mobile before you go to them so they can't say it's android causing this issues
Or you can surprise them with windows phone haha

Mine does it regular but I put it down to my router, maybe its something more sinister

I think its the router network tbh cos I rooted both mine and my partners which I did two days later, and the issue arose on both handsets simultaneously, so I'm guessing its the network, must get my bband back on save leeching of the neighbours

I had the same problem and i saved it by turning off the UPnP in router setting.
But I don't know what caused this issue because before i was using it normally for 1 year.
Hope it helps

this sometimes happens to me if i try to reconnect to a 802.1x eap security network. when i reenter the credentials, it works. this could be a network based problem. what are the security settings?
mine worked for first few mins, then now its not working. please help.
Guys....I am getting crazy...I had a perfectly good CM7.1.0.1 buzz working (wifi too)
then after I played around with it for 3-4 days and installed various apps, the WIFI stopped working. As in, it scans ok, but when try to connect it fails..
- i fails even on open networks
- sometime its fails to obtain IP, sometimes it doesnt even reach that point.
I have tried to:
- activate airplane mode - tunr wifi on - reboot - many times in various orders..nada
- install various 'fixer' apps. nada
- flash new radio.nada
- flash new kernel.nada
- back up restore.nada
- clear cache, factory reset, dalvik clear . nada
- flashed latest CM nightly(256). Phone failed To Load.
- flashed CM7.0.3 - phone failed to load
- flashed CM7.1.0.1 again, phone loaded, (lost all settings) but wifi STILL not working
- I have tried varius networks, tried resetting, tried disabling encryption, changing channel, just about every option on the router. Its the phones fault.
I am very curious about this, because this error seems very serious and not many people seem to have it...so I am missing something Big..(?)
I will try to do a complete fresh install deleting everything formating etc
Maybe some app screwed up the wifi???
im a NOOB! any1 care to enlighten???
Try flashing a SAFE ruu, I had a similar problem but after going back to stock everything worked fine again.

and u were stuck back at stock rom?? no CM ???
my wifi is now working perfectly well now.tried restarting the phone and it did the trick.
may be yours issue may be different than mine.
Nice one, fyi if you read the 2nd post you'll see you can flash a safe ruu which basically means someone has removed the hboot, recovery and radio images so you will keep root and clockwork recovery. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=12782368

well yea ofc I will flash a ruu instead of running a full restoration.. I wonder if that would do the trick..
still u havent answered if u reflashed CM after you got your wifi sorted out..(but judging by your sig u did...)
I just dont want to break the wifi again..it seems so random..almost deal-breaker for me
then again..damn spyware on ruu...thats a definate deal breaker

Using an ruu is a full restoration the only thing different with a safe ruu is you won't lose any of the good stuff. I have made my own safe ruu, saved on my SD which I've used twice to solve problems, first was wifi wouldn't connect at all even after a reflash and the second problem was random reboots on every rom, nandroid backup I had. Just flashing the ruu fixed both of those and I was back up and running on cm7 in about 20 minutes with no problems at all.
I haven't updated my sig for months but it is still more or less the same, I always end up back on cm7 no matter what rom I try.
It just feels right to me.......
