VF are at it again, giving me updates and features I don't want. I know I can press menu and call up 'my apps' but I'd really rather just have market as normal with no VF bloatware / junk.
Anyone know how to get back to normal ?
Flash the new Market that just came out yesterday! No "My Apps" or "Vodafone" button in sight from my experience!
Head to the Themes and Apps forum, there's link in there.

hi im new to XDA and my hd2, however my weather location is saying "London" on my home page, I actually live in Warrington which is 200+ miles away , is this something ive done ??
just go into menu and manually add yours and any other location you want.easy......
I have done that, added both st helens and warrington, even gone as far as deleting all the other location's, yet i cant delete London , and it still shows on my "home page"
Do a little search for "disable location" on here, you'll see that it reports wrong current location for many people, who thus disable it.
Heres the thing that you have to do.
First add your location at the weather tab.
then go back to the main menu.
then click on the big clock and switch it to your location.
hope this helped.
Thanks Romeo, Worked a treat,
yesterday i rooted my kindle and installed the android market. however there are some apps that are not shown, for example, angry birds ( the angry birds seasons does show, but the other two doesn't )
i live overseas but use MarketEnabler (the same configuration i have in my nook which currently show all apps)
ï ensured that the lcd density is 160, and also tried the market fix that applied to the nook color (and other tablets):
Choose "Manage Applications" from the list.
Select the "All" tab.
Scroll down to "Market" and select it.
Tap "Force stop".
Tap "Clear cache".
Tap the Back button if you have SoftKeys running, else swipe right to left on the status bar at the bottom of the screen (from the clock to the book icon).
Scroll up to "Google Services Framework" and select it.
Tap "Clear data".
Tap "OK".
Tap "Force stop".
Press the n button to return to your launcher.
Start Market.
At the "An error has occurred" message, tap "OK".
Hold your power button to turn off your NOOK Color from the menu.
Turn your NOOK Color back on and give it a moment to find your WiFi connection.
Start Market again, and the problem is resolved.
but it didnt help
i'm on stock 6.2.1, has anyone had (and solved) this problem
I've noticed random apps missing from the market as well and I am in the US. One example is Google Maps

Not if they are not using CM7, from the OP of that link you provided:
YOU MUST BE RUNNING CM7!
YOU MUST HAVE ROOT!
I WILL NOT SUPPORT STOCK!

Google maps does not show up because the KF does not have the hardware to support its functions.
That doesn't mean you can't side load it, you can, and parts of it will work, but the market only shows you things that you device is listed as capable of.
Just curious if there is a way to stop that. It's annoying when I only want one screen, but new app installs make a new one. I'e looked around and can't find anything and I apologize if there is already something. I am rooted and have chroma install so and tweaks that involve root are accepted.
Open Play Store settings, and remove the tick which says 'Add icon to Home screen'.
I mean, that's kind of a fix. But it's an indirect fix.
If you are sticking with the default/stock EMUI launcher, there are 2 ways to alphabetize your app list. Yes, you can just install a new launcher but personally I prefer using the stock launchers. I enjoy using all manufacturer launchers (touchwiz, sense, etc.) as I get to know the characteristics of one brand from another.
1) Hit "Settings", "Home screen style" , then select ""Drawer". This will enable an app drawer icon on your home screen and all the apps are automatically sorted in alphabetical order.
2) If you want to stick with the "Standard" layout without the app drawer icon (similar to iOS), there is no option in the settings to sort the apps in alphabetical order. Manually moving around the icons is such a mess. However, there is a workaround to this:
Hit "Settings", scroll down and hit "Apps", hit "More" and hit "Show system processes".
Scroll down and hit "Huawei Home", hit "Storage" and hit "CLEAR DATA" and "CLEAR CACHE".
That's it. When you press home your apps will be in alphabetical order. However, you will have to repeat this process every time you install/uninstall apps.
Clearing data not working
Hi,
Thank you for publishing this tip, but clearing Huawei Home data and cache didn't work on my Huawei P20 with Android 8.1. Icons haven't been alphabetized, they were just moved to fill the empty spaces between them. Moreover, this has completely destroyed all my folders!
Do you have a trick that would work with Android 8.1, or Android 9 to which I can update ?
Thanks in advance!
Do not try...
This does Not work at all. In fact clear data resets your entire home screen, folders, layout and settings.
Now it's time to go through 240 apps and reorganise :silly:
I noticed that there are a lot of system apps which appear to be frozen. Load up Titanium Backup (if rooted) and filter out frozen apps. Quite a bit! Looks like some Verizon crap, but my phone was purchased unlocked. Maybe this stuff is pre-loaded on all Pixel 2's? The most curious item is this "Hidden Menu 1.0" though. I can't find much on Google. Does anybody know what that is? FYI, it's not the hidden 'menu' button next to the recent apps soft button. That hidden button still functions with this frozen.
NOTE: Sorry if a similar thread like this has been posted. Too many topics! Feel free to delete!
I noticed some of these, and the Verizon crud, when I ran Autostarts to see what was running. They don't seem visibile to the end user, but I bet some of these would appear if we popped in a related sim card.
