just for your info, TEGRAZONE is now active and contains some free and some games you have to pay for. I have tried 2 of the free, and they are impressive at least concerning the graphics.
uuh, tegrazone has always worked since i bought my a500 in late may.

Me too, so I don't know why it's somehow news to the OP.
As for Tegrazone itself: there doesn't seem to be happening anything there. Sure, some of the games are nice, but there doesn't seem to be any new games coming there, the news there are stale and so on. nVidia seems to have lost their interest.
Same for me nothing new there.even some of tease data on coming soon has last and the games not for d/load
And by the way most all if not all games on there are also on the market.android and related companies are so fragmented. Its life of a new os something we will all have to live with
I also find the amount of games of my interest a bit dissapointing, on Tegrazone and Gameloft.
Maybe it is because it is such a relativily new format?

So when when is Gameloft gonna Drop some Xoom Loving Games on us?
They were on the ball with the Samsung Galaxy Tablet. They had about 5 at launch.
ANyone know?
The Tab was released using an OS that was older. Honeycomb is brand new, and very different from its earler versions. Developers need time.
Has anyone tired to transfer games over from other devices via titanium backup?
I had no luck doing this on the Atrix, Gameloft games are by far the best you can get on Android. I would hope that they would eventually try and port a few to the XOOM.
I got a tweet from gameloft a few days again and they said they are working on it. No time frame.

I cant find N64oid in the market anymore. I have a Galaxy S and it used to show up fine, I even checked the website and it wasnt showing p anywhere. any ideas????
I confirm this ... am glad that I didn't buy it
Kris
Yeah its not there anymore =/ Hope its just for a code overhaul and that it will be back soon.
Looks like its a licensing Problem
http://code.google.com/p/n64oid/issues/detail?id=1
Ya that seems to be the problem on all the sites i am reading. something about the source that was used to port over was licensed differently and is not compatible with Google licensing. anyway its off the market!
This is the email I got directly from Yong this morning:
A great number of users are complaining about the compatibility and running performance. I am doing a rewrite of some of the core modules. Don't worry, N64oid will be back much better in 1-2 months.
Thanks for the understanding!

The app is not in the Market because I bet people where looking for legal copies of roms...hahahaha
@k4str0
I received the same email. Looks like it will be back on the market in a couple months. Looking forward to it.
Quite a long time... I guess there's nothing else we could do now but waiting and drinking tea
it was back yesterday for a second then went again!???
It seems unnecessary to remove an app while you perfect it. I've already paid for it, and now I won't be about to install it (via the Market at least) on my new phone in a couple of weeks. Poor show. I hope I won't be expected to pay for it again once it re-releases.
Must be because of the 2-300 morons that left negative rating and saying it was laggy and buggy and couldn't understand that this app was still in development which was clearly stated by the developper. Hope to see it in the market soon, till then, i'll continue playing starfox and super mario!
I don't mind the issue, won't stop me from advancing in Zelda OOT and Mario 64 haha. I have it backed up in Titanium Backup so I will still be using it until he puts it back on, I still am very satisfied ^_^
This makes me sad.
Reviews are easily changed, and that's the way the Market works. If an app improves significantly between releases then I, and plenty of others, will be inclined to revisit their review.
By removing the app altogether, it will prevent people who have bought the game and uninstalled it from reinstalling it in future. That isn't fair. Thankfully I still have it installed, and have made a backup of the APK.
I probably come across as more miffed than I actually am - I'm actually more pleased that he's taking the time to make some significant improvements, provided that I don't end up having to pay again for the re-release.
I don't know why they make such a big deal over "only use LEGAL roms", if you actually buy the games now the developers dont make a dime off of them since they stopped making them ages ago.
Okay, I've been waiting for the day... June 17th. Very sold on the hardware and looks, just not totally sold on Honeycomb and Sammy.
Q1: Is Sammy dedicated to upgrading the tablet in Q4 2011 to Ice Cream?
Q2: Are there really only 50+ tablet specific apps (major request)?
Q3: Honeycomb experience and consistency?
I've read two reviews so far that say the controls for honeycomb are all over the place, app drawer upper right, back and home buttons lower left, notifications lower right, app icons anywhere.... come on where's the consistency?
Sammy's UX. I'm one of the few that like Touchwiz, but I have grown tired of waiting for the updates on my Vibrant, if Touchwiz is going to slow my experience down with updates, no thank you to both. Knowing Sammy, they'll require you to download it.
Honest Answers Please
1. No one knows. However, Samsung is one of the companies who is promising to provide upgrades for 18 months on all their new devices. This was announced at Google I/O on day 1. It's not entirely clear what this means though..
2. 50+ means anything above 50 so.. yes, there are "only" 50+ apps, and there always will be.
You can find a good, up to date, list of tablet optimized apps here
there are 162 apps + 55 games on that list. Sure, it's not that many but I can do essentially everything I'd like to on my tablet. The official facebook and twitter apps basically suck, but I use tweetcomb and friend me. They work just fine. The only other app that I would really like is skype. the skype app works but it's not optimized for tablets and, of course, can't do video. this will never happen though, because skype is now owned by microsoft.
it all depends on what you want to do with your tablet, but I certainly do not find that there's anything lacking. I think the main complaint that most people have is the games. I honestly cannot figure out why anyone would want to game on their tablet though.. I play games on my phone when I'm out and I play games on my xbox or pc when I'm at home. I have no use for games on a tablet. However, I have bought a few games on my tablet just to try them out(and because I want to support android devs) and some of them are very good. All the ones in the tegra zone are pretty solid and there are a few other that are quite good.
3. This is all personal preference, isn't it? I like it the way it is but maybe that's just me. Some people like a boring-ass grid of static icons.. that, I will never understand.
Edit: I would also like to see tablet optimized xda and wikipedia apps. However, the browser works just fine for both of these.

I'm praying BIG TIME that my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 experience is NOTHING like my Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant experience.
If it is, then I expect the Android Ice Cream Sandwich update sometime the Summer of 2012.
But some people insist Samsung has gotten better. So I hope so.

THANKS, good answers. I'm planning on reading and gaming, I don't have the xbox and ps3 or wii. Just my quad core pc. I don't do the tweeting and I try to avoid facebook all together. Jeez, I'm really not convinced on moving to this tablet if the dev community can't keep up to support the os...
50 or 165 and 55 games, doesn't that concern anyone?

Okay, do I really need 90,000 apps on ipad2, will i even come close to using a quarter of them? On the other hand is 165 or so enough tablet specific apps? I'm reading through the list and there's some good apps and variety, but when will there be tons and will it be worth the wait?
Please lets not veer off topic and start calling me an ifanboy, it's my friend that is the ifanboy... Anyway besides being locked into the ipad/apple experience, the option of 90,000 choices of apps is very very appealing.
What else am I missing software wise... do people like using honeycomb 3.1 on a day to day basis?
Please don't talk about the resizable widgets... that is trivial.

using my 10.1v for over a month, i'm really surprised how great most of the android-phone apps work on my tablet! if those applications are programmed in a proper way, you won't recognize any great differences between a phone and a tablet - android app! i use most of my phones' apps on the tablet and i really love it.
so it's not that you have just about 200 apps for your tablet! go on and try it! the apps just won't be stretched or zoomed in like on the ipad (had one before).
the only excpetion is when it comes to games.

I had just opened a thread in the Apps and Themes forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=1268796
It seems to be a nice roster, filled with good old RPG's to the brim (Arc the Lad, Alundra, Popolocrois, Wild Arms...) Just what we were asking for.
I wonder if they're still going to use the native 1.0.1 emulator. Or an improved one.

This is huge
We bought this device because it was a great android smatphone that provided us with the best gaming experience due to it's physical buttons, and now look what we've got!!
I mean this totally changes everything. People always dreamed of a real psp phone! And it's finally happening
Actually it isn't, I got mislead by Popolocrois. It's orignally a PSX game, but since it only got released outside of Japan in its PSP version, I thought it was a PSP title.
Sounds like a step in the right direction
This news is great, funny though, I couldn't tell if your wan was saying PS 3 SDK or PS Suite SDK, lololol!
I think they will release PSP Ports to us in the future.
Hmmm, definitely a step in the right direction, although a few of those games are already available on the Android store, and I haven't even heard of a handful of them (I'd have trouble even pronouncing the titles ), and some are obviously original titles. The linked article also suggests that these titles are for the Japanese market so the list may change when it's released everywhere else...we could get different games or we might just get a truncated list.
But I mean Magical Dice Kids? Really?
I think in the next round of updates it's time they brought some more well-known PSX titles to the market...stuff like ridge racer or gran turismo, some final fantasy titles, twisted metal, tekken, metal gear, god of war...they need to bring out some more Playstation recognisable titles for these Playstation certified devices. I'm not convinced people are buying these devices to play games like I.Q Intelligent Qube. They sound like games you'd buy for a DS, not a PS device.
This is a good start but the next step in what titles are released will be crucial. New games also need to be coming in regularly.

Dude you have some strong points here, however, what's making me really positive about this whole thing is that the xperia play and the PS Vita will have access to the same store! Which means the future of the play is bright because we know as a fact that Sony will keep pushing great games for the Vita and since that's the case this means that both Sony and Sony Ericsson will keep optimising this device. While SE will keep updating the regular android software, hopefully till icecream. Sony on the other hand will keep working on bringing new games to the market + the fact that a lot of android games are being optimised for the play lately.
This device has huge potential and a brighter future. I seriously consider it one of the best android devices you could get today, it's a great package of both multimedia and gaming.
I don't regret for one second choosing the play over all these dual core phones which will be missing all the fun we play owners will have just to brag about a processor that's still not using it's full potentiol due to the lack of software support.
Cheers

Thing is due to hardware differences between the Play and the Vita we'll no doubt see games come out for the Vita that don't make it to the Play. That's what I'm a bit worried about. My point still stands that they need to get their arses into gear and release more recognisable Playstation games, and on a regular basis, for this service to have any hope of being remotely successful.
Still, a good point.

Only time will tell how great the PS store for the xperia play store will really be! What makes me optimistic though is that since Sony included the play with their collection ( tablets + Vita) this for me is a very good sign that they will take care of it.
Fingers crossed
Just in time for christmas. Heard about this late last year, January, this thing remind me of the Neo Geo pocket I had and loved in the late 90's and the Neo Geo I owned as a kid. Dont think I will get this but still its cool.....

What are your thoughts on this device...?

I think fans of the system will still buy it, and their games are worth buying if available at more affordable prices. Their offering seems good too, dock and classic joystick. But they aren't giving enough info and hypes to get people interested. I want to know if they are selling other Neo Geo games. What OS is it running, will it have WiFi and online market, etc.
Just because people can pirate it play it on their touchscreen, doesn't beat playing it with a real joystick and connected to the TV and SNK fans will appreciate it. They could reboot their console by selling all their games to the handheld this way, at reasonable prices. If its just the 20 old games that are preloaded, then there isn't much incentive to buy and it will fail.

Yeah. I have done some searching and it seems its using a modified version of android. So most or all of the games are emulated. Still though.... this thing looks awesome and it's got the backing of SNK-Playmore which says a lot... especially when it comes to the thought of additional games. Its still 4 months away. Im sure we will see more info on it as it gets close. Needless to say I think it looks awesome, and I like the fact they went from a 3.5 inch to a 4.3 screen.
