Atrix Update Notification - Atrix 4G General

So my phone is running hktw 2.3.4 fyi. Just got in the car to head home from work when my atrix shows the orange triangle caution notification icon. So I see what it is and it says "Enable Wifi to start download update". Figured blah blah its not good to download since I've read other people not being able to download. I'm sitting in traffic and decide screw it and turn on wifi tethering with my streak. Connect with my atrix and after little bit the update begins downloading. Random I know! Of course it its going slow as ****. As I'm finishing this post it is at 11 percent. Gonna be home soon so I'll connect to my wifi and get it quicker. Anybody else getting this update now. If I'm the first person to get it, how do I pull the update off the atrix for posting on the forums?

So I got all the way to 31 percent. Just got home and connected to wifi and the download progress disappeared. Wtf lol is there any log I can look at to see what it downloaded and possible a web address?

Try the software update, see if it finds it again, if so and you get it downloaded do install later then you can search for the file and upload it. I can't remember where it gets stored tho.

Now its just back to the same old BS about can't update when I click software update. This blows

This has been happening to everyone since 2.3.4 HKTW was first posted. The fact that it started downloading was a first.

Xda app crashes every time I post

Is this just me? Every time i reply to a post, I get a force close. This has happened on almost every firmware I've tried.
Just me?
Same here, it crashes everytime, do not know, but I think this is not a firmware thing, but a xda app thing....
are you guys on Froyo or 2.1 ?
i'm using it just fine, no errors, i use it very often to check my PMs and post back on the go
I had the same a few days ago.however somehow the problem got solved and now I don't get these FC's anymore when posting a message...

Mine crashes too (fresh install)
mine was upgraded from the older verison
Posted here earlier that my problems were gone, but I just had another FC after posting elsewhere...
Also, when trying to edit a previous message I seem unable to type anything; the keyboard appears on my screen, but touching it gives a feedback that is the same as touching in a textbox (I can move cursor and select text etc.instead of typing with the virtual keyboard that is displayed).

Edit: hmmm this time no FC and fully able to edit message....weird...
Mine just crashed using quotes. Seems to work fine otherwise.

Market Issues

I'm having a serious issue with the market and I have not been able to find any solutions. No matter what I do, applications will not download. I've wiped cache, dalvik cache, even a factory reset or three and nothing. So I odined back to stock di18 and it still won't download anything. Anyone have any ideas?
Lol - we made threads within a minute.
I've got issues too downloading.

Me too on 3g only.
Anyone tried via wifi works for me but I'm on a g2

I tried wifi and still a no-go.
Same problem here. Tried downloading an update, and says "Download Unsuccessful" in the notification bar.
I have 2 friends that have the epic 4g and are having the same issue! I rooted the phone for them using the one click root 2.4 and upgrade both to froyo 4.2 beta! I cant say if they had this issue before or not, but they definitly have it now.
Problem: open market try to download any app, it will say that it will download shortly and show briefly in the notification window but then just goes away and never downloads.
I have try connected and disconnected from wifi. Problem still exsist.

Anybody having issues downloading from the Market? (EDIT:Maybe due to Gingerbread)

I have been trying for the past 30 minutes or so but I can't seem to download or update from the market. When I click install, it takes me back to the main menu and just stops. Anyone else have this?

Yes, on all ROMs. Seems it's having problems tonight.
It does not appear that restarting helps either. Nor does clearing the cache.
Perhaps the system went down or is updating on Google's end. Are other phones having issues?

Now that you mention it..
yah I just tried adfree and it won't download.
It didn't kick me back to the main, but it acted like it wanted to start for a split second then it just went away.

Check this out:

I just downloaded an update to Handcent, so mine is working just fine, but yeah, I saw that story on Android Central too. Seems you're not alone.

same here
the message started popping up after i installed nero v3
I'm running stock ji6 and its happening. Its not the nero rom

It has been going on since yesterday for me
Its been just running all the time in running services with all the 2.2 leaks I've installed. It never updated anything you just could never stop it from running im sure its a know issue, now with the ji6 roms you can end it but not in 2.2 for some reason.

Yeah, that is it. I always delete that file so it doesn't run all the time in the background.

It starts happening to me after I did the lagfix.

i think the dm (device manager) server must be wonky lately. This service starts up by default, but is usually invisible (except when you check what services are runnin), but lately i have seen a notification icon on the notification bar saying that it is trying to connect.
Dunno what it does. Probably sends demographic and activity info back to t-mobile and google
easy. tmobile is obviously testing for device responses to the dm server so that they know how many vibrant users there are. this will determine the length of time between the beginning of mass froyo release and the end of the rollout.
damn. now "rollout" by ludacris is stuck in my head lol
Yea Device Management(DM) is used to push updates to Tmo's android phones. I've also seen it been used by tech support to manually push the update or reboot the phone(Back when I had the Behold II).
I would have thought the rom makers would have removed them from their images.
But gallagherm1993's idea sounds reasonable, but I would say if you aren't seeing these things(Like myself) dont worry bout it. For the curious, you can use AnyCut to access DM's interface, and force an update check, but unless its been marked ready for your IMEI, it wont work.

Market search engine behaving very strange

Ok so for example, when I entered twitter, it didn't find the twitter app. Only till I entered "tweet". And it almost always shows the app Lookout security & Antivirus, as like the 5th search result. And some other apps, like Nimbuzz, Quickoffice Pro will almost always show up. This happened since I flashed my phone back to the T-Mobile (I had debranded) firmware and then upgraded to 2.3.5.
Maybe covered in here too:

Not sure if this is the same issue and apologies if I've missed another thread on this. I lost both books and movies from market a few days ago. Also searches only show a very small selection of apps but says there's thousands available. Wonder if anyone else has noticed this?

I think you guys accidentally set the app filtering to high. Remove the filter. Happened to me before.
Just uncheck all then apply and recheck all and apply.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Depends on the CSC code.
Everybody got the same following bug?
If some app page in market loads through 3G and you switching to WiFi while loading - it won't load until force restart market app.
I have got the same thing.. I cannot find anything properly. Its like the search engine is fubar.
When I search "stargate ", it says there are 107 results, yet only about 10 are in the list. I'm finding this problem with every search I do, yet my filter is set to show all apps. Maybe if someone who has cm7/miui could see it it happens to them, we could then deduce whether it is Samsung firmware to blame, or just an android market issue.
There is also another issue where in sometimes when u search an app with full name the market will keep on loading with the grey screen and does not go past it. However if part of the name is searched the results come instantly.

We can rule this out if no one is having as now I feel its because of network issue from my end.
Latest market update seems to have fixed most of the issues I posted earlier. Hopefully this version will be more stable.
