Why cant I boot into Recovery? - EVO 4G General

I can reboot into Bootloader, but when I try to boot into Recovery it kicks me back into bootloader. Im using Rom Manager and Clockworks. Any suggestions? Thanks for the help.

Use amon-ra its 10 times better than clockwordmod just download this http://files.androidspin.com/downloads.php?dir=amon_ra/RECOVERY/&file=PC36IMG.zip
drag it to sd card and go to into bootloader thern fastboot and it should say update

Step one, get rid of Rom Manager.
Step Two, flash Amon Ra.
Fixed....

That did it. Thanks guys. Follow up question..do I do a full wipe or Delvick- Cache wipe when flashing Roms? Im used to letting ROM Manager do everything for me that im not 100% sure.

Do a full wipe User Data/Factory reset, then wipe each sub-category, EXCEPT SD Card.
Heck, I re-wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache twice.

Kernel troubles

I just installed a new kernel, and it caused a boot loop. How can I go back to my old stock kernel without using the RUU, because if use that, i'll lose my root :/
Did you clear your cache and dalvik cache before installing ?
No, was i supposed to? :/ sorry if i missed directions, i was pretty careless about this.

Yes. Always or you will get FC's and have to Factory Wipe and lose your data. If you have a nand backup, restore it prior to the kernal. ALWAYS backup before installing a kernal. Also they say use Amon RA Recovery. I guess ClockworkMod does not wipe the Dalvik Cache and Cache properly.
Make sure you read stuff over and over when it involves rooting, flashing a radio and kernel. I used the ClockworkMod to wipe the cache and dalvik cache and installed the Kernel and it disabled my usb and sdcard. That is not fun trying to get back working. Make sure you do that.

Cannot flash any ROM's

Hello, I have recently been unable to flash ROM's succesfully.
I have Clockwork MOD 4.0.0.2 installed as it came with CF-Root, and I am on stock 2.3.5 KI3.
I have tried flashing several roms, and while it says install complete, whenever it restarts, it is on a boot loop, where it won't go past the Galaxy S II bit with the yellow triangle, I have to flash the stock rom again using odin to even use the phone, I have tried to flash other recovery versions, like 4.0.0.14 and 5.1.2.6 (I think it is) but they all come up with errors mounting or getting recovery.log or something, could you please help?
Did you try to do a full wipe?
Most issues can be resolved by this.
In the CWM menu chose the factory reset/full wipe. (Don't worry it won't touch your files on the internal SD card)
Do a cache wipe and in the advanced menu do a dalvik cache wipe.
Some recommend to do this procedure twice, but you should be settled with doing it once
Let me know if it helped?

Yeah I did all that, didn't help, the progress bar gets half way and says complete :S I have downloaded the ROMs several times aswell incase they were corrupt, still didn't help.
Take out the battery, wait a bit, put it back in. Do all the wipe and formatting procedures (perhaps twice) and format the internal sd card as well and wipe the battery stats (just to be sure)

Stuck on "DUAL CORE" after flashing DarkSide PreFinal

Hey guys,
I've tried to flash DarkSide preFinal on my Atrix, now the phone is stuck on "Unlocked, Dual Core"-Screen.
Here's what I did:
Downloaded latest DarkSide and saved it to internal SD
Factory Reset via Recovery Console
Wipe Data
Wipe Cache
Wipe Dalvik Cache
Flashed the zip file
the process seemed to go through just fine, now when I'm trying to boot the phone it is stuck at the "Dual Core"-screen
Any ideas on how to solve this? I tried to factory-reset and wipe several times, still stuck
Any help is appreciated!
1. Do you have an unlocked bootloader?
2. Are you using a CWM-based recovery?
If you have answered yes to both 1 and 2 then:
3. Have you tried flashing the zip from the external SD?
4. Did you try to flash anything else after flashing the ROM while still in the same recovery session?
(If you answered "Yes" to #4 then re-flash the rom by itself and boot at least once before flashing anything else)
EDIT: Ignore question #1, I just realized you mentioned "Unlocked" on the boot logo.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I reflashed with Wet Dream from the external SD (newer is always better, right? ).
Everything is working now
Seems like being a great ROM.

how long did you let it sit at the loading screen?
Usually when I have boot loops, I let it sit on the loading screen for awhile(2-4 minutes). If it still doesnt boot, then I do a battery pull, and then usually after that it boots.
And if it doesn't boot just reboot into recovery mode, wipe cache, data and dalvik and reinstall the ROM again.
Sent From Rob's RP-Hybrid Atrix.
When installing any new rom, it can take a while to build up the dalvik cache again. I've had it take up to 10 min before. Best to just walk away and come back and check on it.

[HELP] I think I have bricked it.

Guys, I was about to flash a new rom (Omega v2 for i9500) then I wiped the whole thing in CWM. But in addition to that I have formatted the system (mounts and format > format system), now device won't boot. I can get in Download Mode and Recovery mode but it just won't boot...
Now I am downloading a stock ROM from SamMobile; would it fix it if i flash it via Odin? And any suggestions?
Please tell me something because I am feeling really bad =/.

wipe data and cache and dalvik, reflash the rom, rewipe data and cache and dalvik, reboot.
if not, you have odin.

When flashing a rom, what are the step by step procedure when using TWRP? I dont want to accidentally full wipe my phone. I dont know how to use twrp but in cwm u just press wipe data/factory reset then flash rom then advanced>clear cache and dalvik cache.
How do you factory reset in twrp w/out wiping internal? What button should i avoid in TWRP?

Below is a simple How To video, you can always replay it plus I thought it might be nice to see what you are going to be doing. This is not for the G2 but it will function all the same.
