Why all the hate? Kinda ridiculous.

You know I kinda debated about starting this thread but I finally read enough smartass-think-they-are-better-than-everyone-posts. Im a member on countless electonics forums with thousands of posts with the same user name I might add and this forum kinda tops them all as far as "rude people". Yes, I might be "newer" to these forums, but while most of you were in elementary school, I was working on computers, installing networks and doing competition car audio.
Now lets start.
Why were forums made? For the masses to gather and share information, ideas, buy & sell, meet others and just down right chat to one another. *And for people that got picked on in their school days and decide to be a jerk online because they want to feel better about themselves.*
It seems like almost every single thread I read there is someone that asks the "standard question" that has probably been answered numerous times and then you get the standard response. "Well if you would of read, you would know the answer." Instead of being a douche, you could of just typed the answer, gained more post counts and could of probably got your Thanks Meter up another notch.
I love the answer, "Thats what the search feature is for." Well I'm sure almost all of you have tried to search and maybe your search wasnt bigger than 3 letters which gets excluded or so many other queries come that dont get even come close to answering your question. Sometimes its like trying to find waldo in a book with really really big freaking pages.
Then the, "If you would of read the whole thread you would know the answer" response. Well jesus, do you guys realize how fast some of these threads move? Damn, I can make a post, go to bed, wake up and noticed during the overnight the thread gains 10+ pages. Now imagine you are someone new to this, you have read the stickies, done a few searches, got their phone rooted ok but then notice a bug so they ask the "standard question". Well when you have an ungodly amount of threads and an even bigger number of actual posts sometimes its like finding a needle in a haystack. When just asking a question (Which is what forums were made for) can sometimes save you hours of searching thousands of threads.
Some of the people on this forum just need to be patient and help people out, instead being an ASS. We were all newbies once. And we will all be newbies to some other subject in the future. "Can't we all just get along"
And before anyone does the standard flaming. No, this did not happen to me. Search my screen names for posts if you wish. I just hate seeing in almost every 500+ page thread were someone asks a question and the next few people have some sort of smartass answer.
Just be nice, answer the question and watch your Thanks Meter go up. Simple as that.
If people werent asking questions then these forums wouldnt even be a quarter of the size they are now.

Thanks bro, but you are right though, there is a little to much tension at times around here. I have been a member of this site for many years, I had another account but I forgot my name and password so I created this one about three years ago. My point is, I been coming here for over 5 years or so and I am on this site damn near every single day but I never post much if ever. I usually search for what I am looking for at best and then just move on while avoiding the stupid crap. I am also a member of sprintusers, ppcgeeks, androidforums and a few others and they all seem to have their fare share of idiots. Since xda is probably the largest site with the most traffic compared to the others I guess you run the risk of seeing more idiots here as well.

Well said sminker. If people do not like what people post they are just better off keeping it to themselves. Be part of solution not the problem.

Sir you are completely right. People can and will act completely different in this "Alternate Universe" than they will in real life. Why? Becuase they can and it makes them feel a little more "Alpha".

Hey I remember being new to a certain forum not this one though, and asking a simple question. The regular jerks of the forum proceeded to try to make me feel like an idiot. Needless to say my feelings weren't hurt but I guess it's that "Alpha Male" complex.

Maybe it was REDiculous for a resin. I have bee. Aroubg these forums reading and not trying to post. Is it just me or has anyone else noticed an increased number of bumped ancient threads for no reason at all ppl bashing on threads for no reason and people posting in wrong sections did the mods go on vacation or something lol

I'll agree with that.IMO it's just that this phone is a little long in the tooth,and a lot of the really good devs have moved on. Also a lot of the people that were really helpful(not saying all of them,there are still some that help.)have moved on to other phones,and if you look at the sigs. of the mods they are involved with many other phones which eats up a lot of they're time.And I think they're leaving some of the policing to us unless it gets out of hand,like over they're in the thread where it got a little heated....

We are all new at one time, and some of us (like me) post wrong because we're just learning the ropes..

You must come from the unix world , to be able to figure linux . Coming from DEC's VMS world , unix never made sense to me .LoL
Also a lot of the grabassing is being done by "senior" members, remember "you can't fix stupid, but ignorance can be taught"

The biggest reason for the influx of new users to the Hero forum is because the phone has become so outdated (especially with Sprint no longer selling it). People are always looking to get the most out of their purchase, and many will wait until their contract or warranty has expired to being modifying their devices.
EDIT: Also, the more cluttered the forum becomes, the more difficult it can be for a new user to search and find what they need. There is so much clutter in the forums now that it could conceivably take hours to find out all the information on all of the available modifications. You could attempt to search for a solution to an issue, only to find several threads saying "please search for a solution" and one thread actually stating the solution. The time when senior users stuck to only posting informative, concise responses has passed.

Don't even start. I often am able to offer assistance but decline to do so simply because despite not having the time to search, some users seem to also not have the time to type a properly worded post/question.

Im on 2.3.4 now so it bombed. Flashed back to 1.83 to try it.
Hopefully not crying wolf !!!

Holy ****. The assholes are out today. I did look through the threads real quick and didn't see anything.
I did see the thread from DarkY from like the 26th. This is the first time I received the update after checking multiple times since I flashed the 2.3.4.
And it was through a different Motoblur account then I originally signed in with when I was on 1.83 and earlier. So I got my hopes up.
It's not like this is my first visit here. Totally not surprised by CaelanT responses. After I did the search, noticed as always he's pissing in everyone else's face who posted about the update. Takes a special person to bounce around multiple threads just to be an asshole. Impressive.
EDIT : xfinrod and Blue Puma. Assholes is not directed at you in this thread. It's an epidemic after I searched about the update.

I am special maybe because I actually read all the threads posted in the Atrix forums, and some people evidently don't read any! If calling it like it is is being an a**hole, then I am guilty as charged, as are most of the people who post their dislikes about having to read the same threads over and over again because people like you are too lazy to actually spend any time on searching. Sure, we all make posts/threads which have been posted before, but come on there........this one had already been posted so many times in the last few days, I can't count them all on both hands, and I have all my fingers.

Nobody knows. Moto is being tight lipped on dates as usual. There has been word in the last week on the Moto forums that the soak test invites will be going out soon, but again, soon could be in 2 months for all we know.

Aren't we on 1.83 awaiting 2.3.3 or 2.3.4?
And isn't July, when the update is supposed to come?
Why is there a post about 1.57?
Isn't there a "Please use search." message, or two, generated once you join? Just wondering...

Yeah, having a life is a *****. My wife and family are a little more important to me.
I would have thought Boston would have more to offer someone than sit in their underwear and read every thread in every Atrix forum. Sad really.
I did read through some of your posts, though. You did provide useful information in about 50 % of the posts I read. Stopped after about four pages, though. Life and all.
But it was a good enough sampling for me to determine that you call it like it is.

I have a family.............wife and 7 children, (3 still at home), so the Atrix forums are my getaway some of the time. Speaking of family time, we are about to leave for super duper fireworks!

Even if the noobiest noob asks a stupid question and I know it has been answered a hundred times here, I still answer the question (if I know the answer) but also point to where I found it. Try to be more friendly ppl. There are assholes here. Lets try to keep it to a minimum. You don't need to be a **** to make your point. And you don't need to make smart remarks. It don't help. It just makes you sound more like a ****. This is supposed to be a community. That's the way I was brought up anyway.

Outstanding. Congratulations. I have four. Two still at home.
Like I said, a lot of your posts were helpful, informative. The rest, well, were not. I just don't get it. It just looks like you go out of your way to call people idiots. Then there are band wagons, that jump into the mix. So a majority of the threads turn to crap.
I spent a good three to four months after joining and didn't post anything just to avoid the bull****.
Apparently if you post here, and it may be a stupid or noob question, you won't get an straight answer. You'll get a smart ass remark, then it's like blood in the water.

The update is confirmed it will arrive the 25th with speaker quality fix, and reception fixes. Engadget has already received a test build, no word on Google Wallet.

+1 - I agree with Mikey. Shabby has done a great deal for these forums and continues to do so. Perhaps showing a little respect would be in order. It is people like him that make the things we do to our phones easy, fun and enjoyable. If that doesn't deserve merit and respect, then I don't know what to tell you.

The youknowwho everyone is referring to is you, just to let you know. I will not reply to you again and add you to ignore because I know who you are and don't want to trail any more threads off topic. I can tell that that post is intended to just cause more drama because you are desperate for attention. This post did not contribute to this thread at all (and neither did mine really, but I am replying to another post). If you actually posted something useful that pertains to the thread you are saying it in after searching the internet and getting a knowledge of the subject, I wouldn't rant. The only posts I have seen you post are insulting other users, such as "it is all of the old people" and "marcusant is insulting other users". If you are truly this hypocritical and are truly new even though you seem to reference to events that have happened long before you joined, I would be surprised. I will try to not reply and try to ignore any more posts by AdjectiveAnimal or any other troll that seems to use the exact same phrases. The reasons behind my insulting (it really wasnt insulting), was to show you what you are saying to other users in the forum. I am really confused as to why you would cause this much drama on a PPC development forum. I would be less mad if you actually contributed positively to the community. Now for a real reply. I find it odd that they are able to sue for data throttling that everyone has noticed and known about for a while. It still effects android phones and probably dumbphones with 3g. This is one reason I chose sprint. But I do bet that the throttled speeds are faster than Sprint's 3g on a good day.

I think he makes it fun and funny. I also find it entertaining that people are still replying. The gassyP account has been disabled since last nite.
