To everyone working on root..

I hate to let you down, this is not related to rooting the phone.
I'm not a developer. The most advanced code I've written was in my high school computer science course in Pascal. I've used C++ before, but never got anywhere.
You probably don't realize what you're doing requires an amazing amount of skill and mental aptitude. Its something second-hand almost to you developers, but some of us even have a hard time understanding step-by-step instructions. The only way most of us can even begin to contribute is by money, but unfortunately, I can't afford to donate to supply you a source of income, so I know you are mainly doing this for yourself, and then sharing it with others to showcase your ability.
Honestly and wholly from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU for everything you do for us. I know this is probably unnecessary motivation as you're probably working on rooting right now, but really your hard work is truly admired.
THANK YOU and THANK YOU.
I hope everyone else who sees this and can offer no other means of gratitude will add to this post in support of our developers.

I've just completed my first year of college for Software Engineering, and it can be frustrating enough trying to find other ways to solve a problem when all the ideas you had didnt work. I couldn't imagine what it would be like to work on rooting a phone.
I'm pretty sure the dev's enjoy a thank you every now and then. I would imagine its nice getting some appreciation inbetween all the complaints that the phone isn't rooted yet and that it need to be asap.

Obviously it's useless!!!! HAHA that's the point! And I'm ok with everyone saying that it is bad as all the others, because at least we can agree that the others are utter garbage as well. And if this thread helped you realize that, then I am satisfied! Haha, this thread is obviously just meant to poke fun, but as you can see, some people just take this so seriously sometimes...it's rather amusing
This thread will get closed, as it does in fact accomplish nothing. I just wanted, if only for a short period of time, to bring into light how much effort people put in to complaining around here. No, it is most certainly not everybody. But for crying out loud, the general section is beginning to look like an activist corner.
An outsider would come to our forum, see all those threads I posted...and probably just think of how much of an ungrateful bunch we are. I mean people have every right to their opinion, but seriously, there are enough threads to start a "hate" section.

A forum is a gathering place for opinions. A lot of people are pretty pissed at Samsung and are sharing their opinions. Just because you don't agree with them does not make them wrong.

HOWEVER, its not fair to the people who are making due with what we have and having fun making it better, to have their posts absolutely buried by 12+ threads complaining about LITERALLY the same issues. Its one thing to have an opinion, but its another to jam it down everyones throat in hopes that everyone will follow you.
Does more than one person have the same opinion? of course! But organize it. consolidate it. dont drown the forum in negativity. at that point its just sloppy *****ing.

to be fair to the op, the mod originally said "obvious troll is obvious". Then he post was edited reopened and moved.

S15274N seriously helps TONS of people and goes above and beyond to contribute. Really weak sauce IMHO.

Agreed, that's why I did it.
And yes, his post was edited. To be fair, I edited my op to be better, but before I could post that I cleaned it up, it was locked.

I think that thread was a suggestion, not a complaint, or rant as you said.

The way I interpreted his statement was that the thread wasn't so much the issue, but that some of the more extreme comments were.
My personal on the button: I have no problem with it. I'm with birgertime. This site started as a winmo forum and grown into so much more. Why wouldn't they want to advertise their new sister site? ios is a huge platform and I'm sure they would like those eyeballs to head on over here. Plus those mac fans love to throw out money, like for fart apps. xda deserves money, not so much apple.

To the Mod that closed this: This is not IRAN we do not need the "Thought Police" telling us we shouldn't express our consternation with a given product or corporate behavior. I would agree to personally attack another person is inappropriate But, the fact is; in a forum such as this we have the right to express our thoughts about these products. After all, isn't that how the development section got started by a bunch of us who were angry with the corporate Lameness and took to solving the substandard products on our own...?........ i now have the SGSII, just got it today and loving it, i've also moved to Sprint due to better service plan, annnnd i get a 25% discount on my bill cause of my job, i loved the atrix but it was time to move on to Sprint to help myself out budget wise, but i hope yall get ICS and more roms(hopefully an official version of CM7) it's been great yall
and no this wasn't meant to steer anybody away from the atrix, just saying goodbye and thanx for all the help and laughs yall, keep it up

G1-8701, peace out. Enjoy your new phone. Though, you should really check out the new Atrix 2. It's way underrated and the sleeper phone of the year (or couple months, whatever it turns out to be).

On so many levels, XDA used to be so much different. (AKA a lot friendlier)
The people trolling in threads and others retaliating with profanity is exactly why we are seeing more and more devs leaving.
We need to have more "community" going on around here. If you don't like a thread, please fight the urge to ignore it instead of getting into a flame war.
And on that note, can we please lock this up?...

Agreed. I tried making a thread to get people too come togther and acomplish something for the betterment of our device and of course same deal someone had too come in and run there mouth. I have been a member of this forum for a couple of years now. I don't post a lot but I do try to read a lot of the posts. I would just like to say I've never seen anyone as helpful on this forum as evo4gnoob is. He's everywhere all the time and answers everybody's questions and I've never seen him get upset while doing so. He is super helpful to all of the Dev's as well answering questions about their particular roms. If one could get nominated for a forum moderator or forum assistant or whatever, he would be a shoe in. Thanks evo4gnoob.
p.s. You might want to take the "noob" out of your handle

Agreed, he has been an excellent source of help for anyone who has questions. I leave the site for ≈ 2 weeks and I pop on, and he's been all over the forums answering everyone's questions.
Joined 5 months after me and almost 5 times as many posts and thanks as I have... Way more patience,free time to answer questions, and courtesy than I'll ever have

Well, we all have different skill sets; you and other people have made guides. I won't make one because I feel there are just enough guides already made, even though no one is stopping me. So kudos to you as well.

Dark Souls is the bane of my existence... I hated that Taurus demon at the beginning but it became easier after that. Until I killed all of the important NPCs, limiting my skills and equipment are at beginner level.... *sigh*

And he was annoying...and was it the guy right at firelink shrine? I had to make a new game cuz I tried killing him and he raped my face off...and I'm only at the Great Wolf Sif battle, though I haven't approached him yet.

I killed the human knight in the beginning, EVERYONE in the shrine, the giant blacksmith and the merchant in the Undead Berg (he had an annoying laugh). Easiest way to kill them was to lead them to an edge and try to bounce them off with your shield. You may die, but they die too because they follow off the edge.
Could gun for leadership over on Android Passions... Small community but peaceful, involved admins and mods. Of course I'm staying here, just something to supplement here

I've been wary not to kill too many people; I'm a theif, so I can't go mass kill with attack..and the undead merchant's laugh is annoying. Good strategy...I'll keep it in mind.
And I've never heard of it, and I doubt they'd like promoting an outsider. lol Though I'm staying here as well.
