[Q] Zulugen Trinity UV11 Method for working out best radio - Nexus S General

Is there a method for working out which radio is best for where I live?
I have a few ideas
- Download an app to tell me if the signal is good or bad?
- Look at my battery drain (more drain = radio looking for better signal)?
- Use net speed test to see if I get better up/download speeds
Or is there a standard radio for UK?
I tried UCKD1 and KB3 and both work ok but poor signal.
I thought JK1 worked once, but actually it won't install again... Did I imagine installing it the first time? (Flashed new ROM, did that wipe it?)

Which Radio ROM is recommended?

Hiya,
Im still using version 1.03, was reluctant to upgrade due to lots of conflicting reports about the newer radio roms.
So, which one is the best? Isnt there a change log somewhere?
I would use 1.09 if I were you. It has better reception and better battery life. 1.11 is also out but I have seen mixed reviews about it.
ronin
I am happy with 1.11
Cheers

anyone has any idea why orange is still only using radio rom 1.03?
also any more feedback on the various versions?
I've had offical tmobile roms with 1.03 (I think) and 1.06. Upgrading to 1.09 allows the phone to lock on 100% of the time to a 3G signal in my home where the previous versions only occasionally showed up as 3G at the top of my house. Other than that I haven't noticed much difference between them all.

TouchCruise signal Solution...

Hi, in my country there is Only GSM 900mhz Signal. So I don't care 3G.
I have recently acquire a HTCTouchCruise. What happens is that the signal strength is very Low. For Example in indoors there is no signal at all where my Blackberry8320 works like a charm.
The original ROM that came was Aserg In Russian. I don't Speak Russian..
What do I do was to upgrade to Sirius uDk R7. The same situation almost no Signal. NO improvement at all. The camera was not working until I change to Radio version 1.59.x.x. Even with 1.59 No signal improvement ....
The solution seems to be a Murata Radio Version. But R7 requires a Radio version 1.59.x.x but all Murata version I found was for 1.58.x.x. Even with Murata 1.58.25.14 or 1.58.21.23 the signal was the same.
What I am asking is some successfully configurations that IMPROVE RADICALLY the signal. My TouchCruise looks like an IPOD with poor signal...
ROM VERSION???
RADIO VERSION????
Some tips and Solution.
THANKS in ADVANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why is this your recommendation to improve signal??????
Sorry, i was in a hurry.. Why does this ROM will be the best for improve my signal. Did you have the same trouble and this one help you???
THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!
You can use any ROM based on 1.31 or 1.60 drivers with 1.58.xx.xx murata Radio ROM.
ROMs based on 3.13, 3.18 or 3.19 drivers only work with 1.59.xx.xx Radio ROMs.
Sascha
I will give it a try and then will post the result....
Posting results....
Hi folks... NEED HELP....
First or all I installed the original rom
* RUU_Polaris_HTC_SPA_3.13.412.0_radio_sign_25.85.30.07_1.59.42.15_Ship.exe
In a short story the same NO signal in my phone where almost any phone catch signal. Cant try 1.58.x.x Radio because they were designed for 1.60 drivers.
then I pass to
* c_shekhar_Pola_16021014aCS_Build21014_Public.rar
I made every step posible. Downgrade the Radio version and then Installed the ROM. No change!!!!
Tried then
* Radio_Murata_PPAS_1.58.21.23 and then * Radio_Murata_1.58.25.14. Nothing change also...
The rom is great but the same signal.
If I try to catch the signal inside my room what i get is "Denied, Searching" but if I go outside I catch the signal and can call and check balance. As soon as I enter in to the House the signal remain the same but the phone is not reachable. If I try to check balance inside Home with the signal that remains from outside is says:
"Waiting......
Session Terminated"
Please could someone indicate me what to do to recover signal I leave in a City so lost signal here is no usual.
Hi, hell.cu
There is No point in updating two threads. Looks like you have a hardware problem. Get in 'touch' with HTC support as there seems to be no solution available at present with software. Good Luck ....!
that is too bad.. I cant get back to HTC. i didnt buy there... So there is no solution????
Hi people. Just to inform you that havent found any solution... Just send the phone back. Too bad it was a really nice phone.
I love my BlackBerry 8320 so I maintain this phone.
For the record I believe that HTC makes good phones, desing, funionality and even software. But I have seen to many problems also in hardware respect HTC phones. First was a Excalibur and know is the Polaris.
No luck over here...
Maybe there is just no witchcraft to do my friend.
Maybe the signal strength is just the way it is and can't be improved.
I have same problem here and noticed that it is very depending on the weather how strong the signal is.
If you have the same trouble you wouldn't have that phone. Just in the House i have no signal. It is like if i doesn't have phone at all.
Only in the middle of the street i have signal.

have you tried playing around with your Settings/Phone? there is a band selection that can be selected either manually or automatically.
Yes I play around like a monkey. But nothing seems to change the Signal strength. I think that some (not all) Polaris has this issues.

Is it possible improve the gsm/gprs/3g reception?

I have the stock rom/radio with a Vodafone sim, and the reception gsm/gprs/3g of the device is very bad when I stay in a zone with a low signal.
Anyone knowns if exists non stock roms/radios or others methods that can improve the D2 reception?
Thanks for all yours advices.
other users said that the latest radio solves this problem. Also the device connects to satellites faster when using GPS.

Bad wifi signal

Hi, I've recently got myself a Topaz and when using my home wifi I get a very poor signal even when I'm right next to the router. I get about 1 or 2 bars. I've tried to change the performance to battery ratio setting with no luck. Any input on this matter will be much appriciated.
That is a radio problem.
Check current radio version, it should be 4.49.25.17 if you are running new official ROM with win6.5
all settings/device information
I'm actually still running win6.1.

No prob...
Take a look here, read it good and then flash one of the newest radios...
I'm reading the newest one drains battery and that the older version is better. Have you had any problems with the newest radio?

I use the newest and no probs. But it is depending of your operator, the place where you live, what connections you use most... and so on...
So, try, try and try... the latest ones...
Just updated the radio and its all working perfectly. I'm finally getting full bars on signal from my router. First time doing anything to my phone and it was quite easy with all your help. Thank you to everyone.

Try the Radio I'm using, it's working pretty well, reception is good, data connection is good, give it a go! But you should really test some out before posting a thread as every reply will be different, it's difficult to say which is the 'best'!
I recently upgraded my radio to 2.15.50.14. Since the upgrade I have noticed an increase in battery life++ and less switching between H/3g/2g. Data connections feel much quicker on HSDPA but this is purely anecdotal as I have no speedtest results to compare.
This is on T-mobile UK.
In my experience a Radio that works really well on one network/Country may not be the best choice on a different network/Country.
It doesn't cost anything to flash a Radio, so experiment away. Read the stickies in the ROMs forum to avoid "Bricking" your HD2.

Where about do you live? I'm about to try your Radio, to see how it goes
How did you get on radio-wise?
I am on tmobile in the uk.
On recent radios ( not tried every single one of course) I get my signal dropping down to 4 dots where I know I get good signal. I just flashed one of the 2.10.x radios and its definitely dropping down to4 dots alot less but still not how it used to be. I will try others in the morning.
I was wondering if there is a definitive list of the best radio depending on which provider you're with?
Thanks.
Yans.
HD2 - Best radio for UK Tmobile
I know it's been asked a thousand times before, but does anybody have actual experiences on the HD2 with Android running of SD, and being on Tmobile?
I must agree, 2.12.50.02.2 does work amazingly. I tested a lot before agreeing to this one. And android seems to connect straight away with it installed. I had 2.08, 2.09 & 2.10 before & had to constantly switch my network connections from WCDMA/GSM (HSPA/3G/GSM) to WCDMA only (HSPA/3G) and back again while running android. However, 2.12 never had the problem.
best radio for hd2 & UK Tmobile
I think I have to agree. I have tried lots of them, but am going back to 2.10 and 2.12, and out of the two, 2.12 seems the better. I also had to contstantly turn my hsdap on and off and on again to get connections as it dropped often. What kind of donwload speeds do you average?
