I'm having issues with syncing live account using corporate exchange.
settings used:
user: my email
domain: blank
server: m.hotmail.c*m
it was working perfect for about 3 weeks..but since last week my battery drains in a few hours from full charge. com.motorola.service.main is using most of it. the phone is trying to sync constantly..gets very hot...and it no longer syncs read emails.
i've looked for a solution for a few days..this is what i have tried so far:
1. deleted accounts..rebooted..re-added accounts
2. deleted accounts..changed passwords..re-booted..re-added
3. flashed the France sbf..signed up for a new motoblur account..and added accounts
any help would be appreciated

Yes I was having the same problem recently. It "seems" like its syncing on the phone, but when I checked yahoo mail from their website on my PC it clearly was not.

I used IMAP with yahoo mail... and this is what I found to be my problem:
It turned out that mine was in the settings, I had recently updated my password and only updated it on the "incoming server settings" on my phone, but on the outgoing server settings I did not update the password. So I would receive new mail but it would not sync properly when I delete the messages and marked them as read.
I am also having problems with my yahoo email not syncing. The problem is it will sync emails fine through 5/7/11, but not after that date. I tried deleting the email account in the mail app, and set it up again. It downloaded all emails through 5/7/11, but none of my newer ones. I have a yahoo plus (pop) mail account, but have always used the standard IMAP settings that auto-populate when setting up the account. Did Yahoo make any service changes recently? I am using the app on an Evo.
Can someone verify that the exchange servers from hotmail.com are not pushing the folders to the tablet (at the moment) when you do a new account setup (eg after factory reset of deleting your account).
All i get is a white screen with 2 blue circles going round en round for ever, no error messages though.

The strange thing is that my wifes account works well, but mine doesn't. It keeps showing these 2 blue circles forever. This happened while I was testing several different roms. Maybe there is a limit on how many different devices you can check hotmail through exchange. (With every install of a different rom i think your internal device name changes, and maybe the hotmail exchange server keeps track of that?)
Anyone figure this out yet? Ive tried everything and it still force closes the exchange sync everytime.
Hotmail active sync problem
Yes, if you hotmail just sits there and not sync up it usually means there are large attachment or pictures that is causing the problem. Try this.
1. Make sure your hotmail for today and yesterdy do not have any large attachments bigger than 5MB.
2. Configure your hotmail to sync only 1 day.
3. If this works, continue to increase the sync setting to 3 days and again make sure there are no large attachments greater than 5MB in hotmail.
I am finding that hotmail has the ability to send 30MB attachments, but the Acer/Android email app hangs on large hotmail attachments greater than 5MB. My HP Touchpad with CM9 does not have this problem, so this is only isolated to the A500 with hotmail.

I'm using the stock EMAIL app that comes on the phone (not sure if this is the stock Jelly bean app or a Samsung version). I'm using it because it works with my work's Exchange email/calendar nicely. I also have a Gmail account and my personal Email (my own website with email support) which is IMAP. The Exchange and Gmail seem to work fine. I have Exchange setup for push and I'll sometime get emails even before my desktop/Outlook see them. I don't use Gmail that much (only a couple emails a week) so I set it up to sync every 4 hours and that seems fine.
My personal IMAP account I get probably 30 email a day. I set up the program to sync every 10 minutes. It seems to just stop syncing for some reason I cant figure out. For example today, I received several emails overnight and a couple in the morning and the phone synced them fine. When I got to work and checked ~11am I had 5 messages waiting (using Thunderbird on my desktop) and when I checked the phone it didn't have them. If I go to the Inbox it says last sync was at 8:49am. The program will then do a sync and presto, all 5 messages popped up. But now all day the phone will not sync unless I go check my inbox which appears to force a sync.
So I know the information (account, password,..) are OK since it manually syncs no problem. I didn't try today but in the past if I change the sync interval to something else (5 or 15 minutes) it seems to sync for a while and then stop again. I tried deleting the account and then re-created it and that seemed to work for a while.
I have "sync while roaming set" and I do not set up a peak sync schedule so it should always be the same.
Any thoughts?

Well the reason of writting this post is the following.
I just my Note 3 back and i installed the new Gmail App.
I entered to configure my office 365 exchange email account .
Everything went well for the email but at the end where it ask what to sync there was no options for my Contacts or Calendar.
I had to setup the Samsung email client which i don't like
Has anyone had the same issue?
Does this have to do with the Exchange services needing maybe an update??

So I recently upgraded the OS from KK(4.4) to 5.0.2 through FOTA update method.
Since then, every few hours, the Email default application loses sync. The main sync button appears to be on but when I enter the Exchange account account settings, I see that sync isn't marked.
Once I mark the sync option, it works well. but then again, after a few hours, getting off again.

I have the exact same issue. This has been nagging me for a while now since I upgraded to Lollipop.
Regularly, as I notice absence of traffic on my Corporate email (exchange server account), I go to the accounts settings only to find out all sync options unchecked. And as soon as I check them, email starts coming in again, until the next time.
This occurs after anything from an hour to a few days. Very annoying as it renders my corp email very unreliable...
