Hi guys,
I just recently spilled water on my mt4g and it is now showing a pink/purple light when I try to put the battery in and power it on. Does anyone know what this means? The water indicators are also red on the battery area and on the battery itself. I currently have the phone off in a bag of uncooked rice. Hopefully the phone survives. In the meantime, is there anything I could do to ensure the best results? Thanks guys

Hey guys, I just got my 8525 and was wondering is there is a way to tell if the phone has been water damaged? I see that on the battery, there is this little sticker that has red polka dots on a white background. I know usually red means water damaged but this one is polka dotted. Does this mean that the phone has been exposed to water?
no, thats just a warranty type seal.. if that seal is tampered they know you opened the battery.
To check for water damage, remove your battery and sim card. On the circuit board under the simcard you should see a small piece of felt type material. If thats not white then your phone could of been subject to water damage. I forgot if it turns blue or red when that pad gets wet, but it should be white.
Yes, the red polka dot thing under the SIM means it was water damaged; I know because I just dropped mine in a cup of tea. Wish me luck, guys.

Dropped mine in a mud puddle at work couple of weeks ago. Screen turned white buttons wouldn't work, even to turn it off. I pulled the battery right away and put it in the defrost on my dash for about 90 mins. when I started it up after the defrost treatment everything worked fine and I have had no problems with it.
Dead MDA?
I just dropped mine in a bucket of water.... I turned of took the battery out and let it dried for couple days....when i turn on...nothing...the screen is black.....no light....nothing..... Is there any way to repair this problem..... i hate to throw it away.....just got this phone about 6 months..... bought off from tigerdirect no warranty...... any help would be great appreciate...thanks
Hey guys, I really need your help.
Long story short, water splashed on my jeans while my HD2 was in there and now it doesn't work. Been drying it in rice for the past couple of days and hoping for the best. However, that splash turned the water sticker under the camera slightly red. Thing is, I didn't know what is was and scratched it off. Now I'm hoping to find a new one. Is it round or square? it's the sticker under the camera after you take the battery out. PLEASE, i would really appreciate some help.!
My MT4G's speaker blew out for no apparent reason. I was on virtuous fusion 1.1.8 and the unity kernel v1. I've performed a factory wipe and have restored to stock rom but the problem persists which leads me to believe it's a hardware problem.
Unfortunately, I just noticed that my battery has signs of water/moisture damage (pink hash marks on white tab) even though it's never fallen into a water source before. I work out with my phone in my pocket so I suspect it could be from sweat moisture. Any suggestions on the cheapest way to get my phone replaced under warranty?
Should I go through T-mobile or HTC? Would it be wise to get a replacement battery w/ a clean white tab before pursuing a warranty replacement? I've noticed there's a circular white tab on the bottom right hand side of the battery compartment on the phone itself and that has not changed colors, although I'm not sure if that's a water indicator tab or not...
Advice is greatly appreciated!

You can go through TMOBILE. If the PHONE does not have water damage (The sticker is WHITE) you can go through them. They will send THE PHONE ONLY. You will keep the battery, back and all other accessories.
When I was talking to a Tmobile rep, he asked me if the battery had any indication of water damage. Since I was on the same phone and needed to remove the battery to check, I hung up and checked and found out it does.
When I call back to Tmobile, should I say just say no if they ask me again if the battery has water damage? I don't want to be "flagged" for water damage if I don't have to and if I won't be sending in the battery. I guess my question is really if that white circular tab on the battery compartment is really a water damage indicator. If it is, I'll feel a lot more comfortable because it is still all white.

Do the red X's on my battery mean the indicator has been tripped? TIA!

I have the red x on my batteries too. And neither were exposed to water. As long as the device sticker is WHITE and hasn't been water damaged, tell them no. They will send you a refurbished device and you will keep the battery, back, and accessories.
Thank you!

Hello, Forum
In a tragic twist of events, my third smartphone went down into a watery grave a few days ago. I dropped it into a bucket of water but fished it out immediately. Since I have quite a bit of an experience with tearing down devices, I immediately set down to disassembling it. I did that put the parts in separate dry rice air-tight bags. 3 days in the bag. I cleaned the rest of the chassis up. In the end, there was some white residue on the logic board and on the chassis. The water damage indicator was red. I reassembled the device and tried to switch it on. No luck. I then plugged it in. The red light of doom flashed in my face.
I've been through a few threads and learned that the battery is the issue. Will replacing the battery rectify the problem, or should I not waste my money on that?
Also, will LG be able to help me out with this? I live in India, so dealing with "water damage" rejections won't be an issue.
I lost both of my previous smartphones with in months - Nexus One with a hardware defect and a stolen iPhone 4 - and I don't want a repeat performance for a third time. I'm also not looking forward to using a Nokia 101 for the next year. Please help me.
TL;DR version: Nexus 4 suffered water damage. Disassembled and put parts in rice bag. Put it back together. Flashing Red Light. Should I try and replace the battery or go to the service center?

This morning, after leaving the phone over night, I noticed that upon connecting to the charger, the light was no longer blinking but a constant red. I read that in some cases, it turns purple. If the colour changes, then this might just be an error indication system. If so, does anyone have a key?

Hi guys. I recently left my 10.1 in the kitchen and some apple juice got knocked over and it sat in a puddle of it for a few hours. Air drying, hair drying etc. (but I've not been able to prise it open), got it so that when I turn it on it cycles through what looks like a test pattern on screen... entirely bright red for a couple of seconds, then green, then blue, then some black and white patterns, then back to red and so on.
Anyone have any ideas? I love my tab and £200 is a huge amount to me, so I can't replace it.
Thanks so much!
