[Q] Really good NAND Sense 2.1 Rom? - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hey guys.
After trying dozens of ROMs for a week, I can't find a good sense rom. Nothing fancy. As close as stock 2.1 sense as I can get. I have a 1024 Tmous HD2. Preferably something like the DFT NAND ROM that I'm sure everyone is familiar with, but without any bugs.
Please?
Thankss

I don't think a ROM where you need to use an app to turn off the dang thing is great. As a matter of fact, the only thing I see in NAND development these days are these buggy Sense 3 ROMS, Sense 2.1 ROMs themed to the point of retina destruction and that MIUI crap.
Why has nobody made a stock Desire HD ROM for cLK.
To the OP: If you're a fan of MAGLDR, try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=915159
Only thing wrong is the camcorder doesn't work with the stock HTCCamera.apk. (and another thing wrong with it is that it's for MAGLDR )

there are stock like hd with sense 2.0 which can be used with clk

I don't need any app to turn off the "dang thing" like you said....
Anyway, the issues i knew after 2 weeks of use:
Camcorder with higher resolutian than 320x240 does not work (i'm not a cameraman so it does not affect me...)
Graphical glitches (much less then in other NAND-roms. Really: not disturbing)
Thats it and all what i've noticed in 2 weeks use. ^^
After testing these two weeks, i only can say that the rom is fast, stable and (that's important i think) suitable for everyday use...

Hi,
I'm not sure why you are laying so much importance on such a minor aspect of a great ROM.
Have you actually tried it?
As it happens my power off (stock) button is still working.
But what's the difference between pressing the power button and pressing an app button.
Same result...

[Request] Camera button

I was wondering if its possible to remap the camera button away from the track ball and to the volume rocker. This will make it easy to take those self portrait pictures with friends than guessing where the shutter button is on the screen.

I believe he means in terms of every single thing working properly, and the speed being up to par with say a stock Nexus One. I thought to myself that I would never switch from HTC Sense.. but the quickness of Cyanogen is just too nice to withdrawal from. Once we literally get the Desire on our phones (you know what I mean), I will go back.
Opening apps just feels so speedy on Cyanogen mod! I really just can't revert... As much as I want to...

[Q] Can an Android ROM be made this way ?

Greetings,
The one thing I have seen a lot of people complain here is about the hard keys on our phone wearing out. This is one of the major issues and i face the same problem. On Windows Mobile I rarely use the Hard Keys but on Android they are really used a lot. So my question to all you talented developers out there is..Cant a ROM be made specially for our HD2 with a soft key panel built into the screen ? which is available all the time !!
I know there are some third party apps like Buttonsavior...etc...but its not something which is as flexible as the soft keys in other phones....I have attached a screenshot to express what I mean.
isn't that what tablet tweaks from cm7 attempts to do? haven't seen if they work, personally.

Try the app zmooth - it is on the Android Market * HERE *. You will never need to use the hardware keys apart form the volume and End/Power key.

This is something that is a native feature of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. So check the ICS ROMs and see if the ROM developer has turned it off or left it as a option for the user to decide. Also I know this ROM has it as a option.
Yea, as stated above softkeys in themselves are/can be present in all the ics as standard as the feature ics nexus itself doesn't have any hardware buttons (that i recall).
When I first read your question I thought you were enquiring about if the soft button panel could be present regardless of the state i.e when screen is off, which isn't done. In terms of being able to totally disregard the hard buttons there are proximity sensor apps (as well as some sound apps) that can be utilised to wake the device from sleep, I've used proximity screen off which works well, although i can't report as to using it affects battery life.

I do not think you can do this with a Gingerbread ROM because the onscreen buttons are not part of Gingerbread. But if you want to you can always try it and see what you can come up with. Also it is several launchers for Gingerbread that will give you the onscreen buttons, but I do not think they work with all apps.

Graphic Glitches on HD2 GB Sense Roms

enough is enough
its starting to get really annoying seeing people constantly asking
about when the gfx glitches will be fixed ,even though 2 or 3 posts
above theres someone has already said when they will be fixed
i can probably count 30 or more posts in differnt threads in the last 12
hours asking that same question
so here it is in a nut shell and read it really slow
the gfx glitches on GB Sense roms will be fixed when HTC releases the Kernel Source Code, untill that happens we will have those small glitches
so please out of common courtesy for the Devs of the sense roms
stop asking when the gfx glitches will be fixed every other post
Unfortunately I say let trolls roll. I just ignore moronic posts that have been asked before whenever I search the forums anyways

When you say "source code," do you mean the HTC Sense source code or the source code of the custom ROMs from which Sense was ported? Either way, it seems likely that it'll be a while before either will be released
EDIT: You edited it with more description. Thanks!
When the gfx glitches will be fixed?
it's bug not in videos drivers in the kernel, it's bug gralloc library
Does anyone know if these same issues are effecting any other phones?

What do the glitches actually look like? I have a Sense rom installed but a Froyo. So, not sure what they look like. Can you post a screen shot or direct me to a post that shows?
I rarely notice the glitches on the Sense 3 ROM I'm using. But I figure when a Sense 3 ROM is released that is closer to the HD2 in hardware specs...like HTC releasing a Sense 3 ROM for the Inspire 4G/DesireHD, the glitches and bugs will continue to be an issue. Although they are a monor issue in my current ROM.

I also didn't know what glitches where, but....
Yesterday I tried the Pyramid port from dungphp and there they where, the nasty little buggers!
As I don't have a screen-shot from any glitches I'll try to describe it for you.
Here we go...
They seem to appear when there's graphical activity (i think).
Like for instance in scrolling text (like in the app Quick System Info) and in the text under the scene (loading preview) in the scene picker in Sense 2.1 and 3.
So the glitches are mostly seen around and through text.
It's no more than little white lines completely running through your white text, making it hard(er) to read.
It's there, sometimes annoying, sometimes not.
For me it was one of the reasons not to stay on the Pyramid port or use any other GB Sense rom.
Luckily we have many roms to choose from here
Here you go mate, hope this clarifies it somewhat.
Thanks for the explanation. That helps out alot. I think I will just stay with Froyo. It's been working great for me so far.

but when it comes to stability its poor.

not for daily use i think...
Well.... I guess it all depends on how you install it and fine tune.
Only problem I have with this ROM is camcorder issue (which is a known issue). This is my everyday phone now and I'm happy with it. No crash or lags. I reboot phone a once or twice a week.

there's 3 versions out now,i aint tried the 20\09\2011 version.

19\09\2011 version works fine apart from usb
IT'S A SHAME ALL ROMS DON'T LOOK LIKE THIS ROM,more colourful and not just plain black or grey lol,i no the colours don't effect the performance, but it still looks superb............but since i last had this rom.............im now on runnymede rom.............its like the new sensation XE..............just wish there was a way to make it like the colours of energy rom..........then it would be world class
Energy ROM you can choose to download from different bases. The 3.0 builds based on desire tend to be a bit smoother.

[Q] Wi-Fi Calling using Darkside Runny 2.2

Hi all. So I found a ROM that I really like and am comfortable with. It has everything I want, acts the way I want, and especially LOOKS the way I want.
There's only one problem; the wifi calling does not work! Well, it does, but here's the problem. I can establish a phone call using the wifi and can hear the person just fine, but they complain they can barely hear me. I literally have to scream for them to hear me. I tried different wifi areas; ie. Starbucks, different routers, friends routers, etc., and all have the same problem.
When I flash a different ROM, this feature works just fine!
Anyone heard of this?
Why not try one of the newer versions of that rom to see if it was fixed....

Just loaded 4.0. It's actually called Darkside Sense, so it's not Runny. The fonts are all different, when I add a text shortcut to a contact on my home screen, it adds the little text-logo in the bottom of the picture (very annoying, Runny does not alter the picture), I can't seem to change the fonts for the life of me using the built-in tweaks.
So no, they're def different versions...

Let me ask you, is there a way to remove the little txt-icon on the bottom of a contacts shortcut? I created a direct-txt icon on my homescreen, but it has the little txt icon overlayed on the picture of my contact. Can i change that?
In Runny 2.2, it didn't have the icon, just the whole picture of the person....
