I Encountered a number of problems when trying to upgrade to DJ's V 1.2 ROM from V 1.1.1
Problem: My phone is dead, nothing. No lights at all and I cant turn the phone on obviously.
What I've tired:
1. All key combos. Holding for up to 20 sec
a. Volumes + power
b. Volume down + power
c. Volume up + power
c. Power + camera.
d. Power + camera + volumes
2. Take battery out + sim + SD let sit for 1 hour
3. Wall charge w/ battery and back in for 1 hour.
4. Wall charge w/ out sim and SD for 1 hour.
5. Phone plugged into wall with back off and no battery.
6. Phone plugged into wall with back off no battery, sim, or SD.
Still cant get it to work, charged USB and Wall charger for 3 + hours each. Phone still does not show any signs of life. The battery is not getting hot, which means maybe is not charging at all.
FIX: download PDF. Will Update with pictures later, very rough right now.

My question: is it possible to Brick my phone so bad that it cant charge? or is this possible a cable/charger problem?
I would suggest you try a different cable. your cable may be bad.
it needs the battery in and the backplate in place in order for it to boot.
try without simcard and everything else in place. make sure the backcover is firmly closed.
you might also try this: attach to pc and press power for 3 secs , stop press power for a second and then hold both power and camera button together till it does something.
FIXED thanks to DJ Steve! Now running v1.2 sucessfully. Man is it fast and sweeett!

If you are stuck at the Dell Logo after flashing a Rom (install Clockwork recovery if you haven't already got in installed) press the volume up and down and power - select option 2 - when it goes into clockwork - go to partition option - mount the first three options (data - system and something else) and reboot - BAM Your back in business - you don't have to do it again except if you flash another rom (sometimes - not always)

Sorry I should of explained myself...
I have tried to install 2.2 (DJ_Steve) from 2.1 when i booted into flash recovery using the following for the baseband update.
fastboot -i 0x413c flash amss amss.mbn (to install the baseband)
commands and rebooted my device i already had clockwork recovery installed..(used clockwork a few times in the past for other roms) after the last step using fastboot to reboot. (fastboot -i 0x413c reboot)
my device rebooted and was stuck at the dell logo ... left it like this for about 1 hour
nothing responds now ... tried booting into recovery using both volume buttons and power ... and trying to boot into fast loader no longer works.... i have pulled the battery and tried with no luck.... and also charged the device over night...
looks like I have some activity with the usb cable in windows for the ADB driver but does not respond to any fastboot commands ....
I lost count the amount of attempts to boot into fast loader mode white screen never appears just boots into dell logo...
if I try to hold down the camara button and then the power the streak will not even power up unless I pull the battery...

hum, this is different problem then I had, I could not get the screen to display anything at all.
Do you think your fix might help my situation ? as mine might aswell have a blank screen ...
Ok guys, I've attached a rough guide. I'm at work and will update w/ pictures later. It might be a bit confusing, but I will fix it later.
Hi All, as the title states, I'm currently stuck in a CWM bootloop after trying to applying the new OTA update on my rooted transformer.
I know it was kinda stupid of it.
I tried following the steps posted here, but i can't seem to get adb to push the file through.
I must admit that I'm not very good with using command prompts and i have no idea if I'm doing it right.
Steps I'm sure i'm doing right so far.
I opened up my cmd and cd C:\android-sdk\platform-tools
When typing adb devices, my transformer is successfully recognized as 0123456789ABCDEF OFFLINE
However, the next part got me slightly confused.
I had typed in C:\android-sdk\platform-tools>adb push C:\cwm_recovery-5027_rogue_rburrow-tf101-r1.zip /sdcard/download.
However, i kept encountering the error that the device is offline.
I had also set up a marco to press the up arrow+enter key with a 10ms pause in between followed by a 1 second pause before repeating.
However, the file was still unable to be pushed to the device despite countless tries.
I'm not sure if it's because the line i had entered was wrong or was it due to some other factor.
Would someone be kind enough to help me take a look and see if i had done something wrong?
Thank you very much for your help!

yeah dude, i realised that after i googled for a fix.
prior to this my experience with OTA updates on rooted+CWM phones had never encounter such problem.
The most that had happened previously was that the update failed to be installed.
I had no idea it could get stuck in a loop i couldnt get out of.
when you're doing adb devices, is your tablet in recovery or off?
try this,
push and hold vol down plus power button
when you see words at top left corner, wait a while till you see options to wipe data or cold boot.
Select cold boot to see ifnyou can boot into OS

The words are not even popping up for me, it just shows the asus logo and then goes straight into recovery. I go into adb devices and it shows OFFLINE aswell.

Same here. The only way I can boot now is VolDown + Power. Another thread recommended flashing some stock-like ROM, but I'd rather not.
Has someone found out how to boot normally?
I have to cold boot everytime my device reboots or it shuts off, which is quite often.
The cold boot method is becoming really annoying.
Thanks!
Found a way!
Hi guys! This is my first post helping somebody
So I found a way to make it boot normally...
What you need to do is to cold boot your device.
Then download from the store Android Terminal Emulator.
Open it up and type in:
Code:
su
Allow SuperUser if prompted.
If you get # then you are good to go!
Now you need to type in:
Code:
echo boot | dd of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p3 bs=1 seek=0
Once it's done, reboot your tablet and you should see a progress bar.
Let it load and once it's done, you have your tablet back!
Hope it works!

I also had this problem for 3 weeks. I believe I got this fixed now and the problem hasn't come back for a week.
What I did was to boot into recovery and wipe cache.
The second thing that I did was to use ADB (I am not sure if it's necessary):
adb shell am start -n com.google.android.setupwizard/.SetupWizardTestActivity‘
This will initialize the setup wizard again and freshen things up, according to this article:
http://www.androidauthority.com/nexus-4-issues-kitkat-319948/
Maybe it's a mental thing, but I find the N4 works more smoothly now and has better battery life.

no, the ADB command doesn't delete anything. The SetupWizard will bring up the screen where you have to type in the owner's information (first and last name) then to accept the terms and conditions, etc.
Hope this will solve the issue for you... it solved mine
Hi,
My brother is having trouble with his Nexus 4 and I was hoping I could get some help here.
The phone won't go past the boot animation, with the 4 floating balls.
It keeps showing that forever (left it for 20 minutes with charger, phone got really hot but did not get past the animation)
- Never rooted or changed firmware. Only updates from Google. (It was on 5.1.1/5.1/5.0.1)
- Sent to a shop, which claimed it can't be fixed (I do not know the reason they gave him).
My brother thinks it is because a weight was accidently dropped on the phone, but the problem only started 3 days after the incident.
No outer damage can be seen on the device, other then a small brake in the back glass.
Thanks in advance to anyone who will try to help
possibly?
Did you just update and it got stuck at the booting up????

Do you have data on it that you want to keep? If you don't you can try booting into the bootloader and unlock it. Then try flashing a factory image. This will wipe all the data on the phone though so that should probably be a last resort.

I have no important data on it.
Which is the safest way to do this? I'd appreciate it if you would be detailed or refer me to a guide, as I want to be careful.
Where should I download the factory image from?
As the name of it states, I wish to get the one from Google, without any changes or addons from users.
Follow this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/general/how-to-how-to-flash-factory-image-t2010312

First we should check if you can boot into the bootloader at all. First turn the device off. Then hold down both the volume buttons and then press and hold the power key. Keep holding all the buttons until you see some different colored text. If that happens we should be able to install a factory image, if it still gets stuck on the Google logo I unfortunately don't have any more ideas.
Tried pressing both volume keys and power button. Google logo show for a second, then black for 2 second, thank flashing red notification light every 1/2 second until I let go of the buttons.
When I release the buttons, the phone goes back to charging battery screen.
I see people suggesting that the red light flashing means a battery problem, but the device keeps trying to boot up while it is not plugged to the charger, unlike what happened to them
Any Ideas why this is happening or what the red light means in this case?
You need to press volume down+power button to get into bootloader. Unplug the charger before doing this.

Oh it was just volume down, not both. Heh, sorry.
Use the Nexus Root Toolkit (NRT), it's the easiest way to unlock, root, flash and manage your SuperUser needs!
http://www.wugfresh.com/nrt/
Not sure, but maybe?
You can try using the nexus root kit & unlock your bootloader and see if a factory reset can work. If it does you can always relock it again ☺..Flashing a factory image can work too also ...
Tried volume down+ power button while unpluged from charger.
Google logo show up with vibration, then goes away after 2 seconds, like before, but then the screen goes blank. But red led not flashing.
What should I do now? Even just to use the Nexus Root Toolkit I have to allow Developer mode, which I can't as the phone will not boot up.

I'm you can't get into the bootloader then I am unfortunately not aware of any way to help you. If you can't even get into the bootloader I think it is a high probability that it is a hardware problem.

First you have to ensure "The Situation" of your phone, diagnostic is very important to decide the kind of medicine or treat. Your N4 booting, stuck on google-logo with red blink, then black screen.
To check : Connect your N4 to PC on linux check on terminal command $ lsusb if output

That sounds like the battery is completely empty. Put the device on charger over a night and try then to boot into the bootloader.
Once I had these symptoms (red light flashing) on my N4, it was enough to charge the battery for one hour. Then it booted properly. It's worth trying.

How do I do that?
Hello guys,
A day ago I decided to root my Huawei P10 lite. I unlocked bootloader and flashed TWRP. Everything worked fine. However I was unable to root my phone so I tried to lock bootloader. Thats where my problem started.... I locked bootloader via ADB and then it said the phone will reboot and factory reset. Phone was rebooted but now its ,,stucked" on huawei logo screen and nothing happens.... I just let phone to discharge and when I try to turn it on its still get to the logo screen and nothing. Always when I try to turn phone off it keeps turning on to the logo screen and Im unable to go to recovery or safe mode because button combination dont work. I cant even connect it to the PC via the USB cable....
Any ideas how to fix it (if its even possible) would be much apreciated.
Thanks a lot guys.
So, even you if you mounted the /system partition read-write it gets modified and the signature breaks that's why your phone no longer boots.
Try following: shutdown the phone if you can, press volume down and at the same time plug in the USB cable and unlock the bootloader, then flash the latest firmware for the device using the HwOTA method:

Thats the problem, the phone cant be shut downed by the ,,official" way (hold power button) because it instatly power on after two seconds... Only way how to completely shut down is let the phone discharge.... Anyway when I try to shut down the phone and then instatly press volume down I always get to the logo screen then I get black screen (looks like its trying to do something) and then the phone reboots and again get logo screen... It looks like the phone is gone for good lol

It worked as you said (holding volume down + USB) and phone booted successfully but then appeared shutting down possibly due to low battery... I will keep trying. So thank you very much, you saved my day lol.
Allright, the phone is gone for good... Whenever I try your trick (volume down + USB) the phone boot up to the OS but then always shut down because of low battery. I tried to charge the battery but it seems like its not charging at all... Got phone on charger for three hours now and still red LED diod shows low battery.... I think this thread can be closed and I will bring the phone to the service center and see if they can fix this or not. Again thanks for the help.
Try to charge it when is in bootloop or that's what you tried?

Yeah, now I have it on charger for 5 hours, got huawei logo on screen and red LED diod flashing... Strange thing is the phone is not heating anymore, even charger is cold... When I un-plug the charger the phone shut down in like 5 minutes... When its on charger its not turnning off so I assuming there must be some power coming through the charger to phone then...
This Huawei P10 Lite is quite strange piece of electronic.... Its just booted itself on its own and actually its working just fine... What would you recommend to do, now? battery is charging right now at 16%
