firts of all thanks to all xda dev you make android a pleasure.
I just bought an sgs2 and i'm happy with it. I was wondering if anybody is working on a sense rom right now?
I had a sensation and like the user interface but not the 512 meg of ram.

you get a higher resolution and a 768mb ram afaik. so you could have been keeping it. 768mb are enough for all apps and games at the moment..

Someday, more importantly, ppl that want sense, will buy phones that come with sense. Also, someday, people will learn to use the search button, and then also stop posting non-dev threads in the dev section.

Makes me laugh every time i see a post like this.. now lets generate some search results:
Samsung Galaxy S II GT-9100 , its not possibe to install HTC Sense (and will never be available) HTC Sense is as the name says so well for HTC devices only.
Not only did you open a new thread about a question that have been asked 769 times before, you also did it in the development section? The last place on earth(xda) it should be?

You don't even have cm or aosp working properly, a whole team hasn't managed to port sense over to the galaxy s 1. A sense port is in fact possible, but it will take ages and a great team to do the job, which I doubt will spent their time in which they could've made money on something a few users would kind of like. Get a professional team, pay them, and that is when you will see your proper working sense rom.
Don't get me wrong, there are people who would like to try, but they will come out disappointed, for they will have to create the entire processor sources and get them to work on a closed-source rom. Probability of a working sense rom are very low.
Miui on the other hand is a nice alternative, it looks good and is way easier to port.
Something I forgot to tell by the way, if your s2 has a tegra 2 processor and htc ever releases a phone with tegra 2, which is very unlikely, you are in luck. If you have a samsung processor you're out of luck, since htc probably won't ever use processors made by a concurrent.

woah, could well happen if some talented dev gets hold of it
The specs of this do match the Hero pretty well, although I doubt the camera will ever work. Hopefully I'm wrong though.
If i don't manage to sell my hero until this one is launched, I'm all with you guys
radu you are a god! haha
if you could do this it would be incredible!
I cant wait
Here is compare to this two phones http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=3777&idPhone2=2861
Here's to hoping there is a newer kernel in this one that may be of use to reimer...
Lol
Thats one rubbish little phone, not bad for a starter android, but HTC really did let me down this year, as my upgrade falls in april when all the new handsets came out, looks like its the Atrix or some other 2 core CPU,
Back on track, Yes the specs do look a lot like are little heros, a part from the better screen, and slight bump in cpu and ram, not much diffent, hopefully it will be ported, thing is, iv not used sense for ages since late 2.1 roms, and not sure if it will slow down are cpu/ram.
Also a lower battry at Li-Ion 1230 mAh are heros is Li-Ion 1350 mAh,
But hopefully im wrong !!!
Another issue I thought of aside from the camera might be the software, it's probably designed to utilise the extra RAM, like that Gratia/Legend port Sense might close after opening a resource intensive app. With some luck and skill from a talented Dev this can probably be sorted, I think.

Pretty sure it's from the "Wildfire S"-dump that means mdpi, and with a hero-kernel I thought I might have a shot, but I dont know how to repartition the internal memory, as the system-partition isn't big enough..
Wll if the system partition is not big enough, you want to install that on the SDcard? that would make the system pretty unstable if you ask me.
I only have a class-2 2GB sd-card, so I don't think that it would be a good idea
Ok, I've been waiting for this rom to be released and finding out that it was canned due to lack of interest. If enough votes we can get this rom reopened and released. This rom needs to be released so it can break the monotony of the Gingerbread and Honeycomb roms thats out there. ZenExp rev 7 was beautiful and I can't even imagine how Rev 8 would look like.
Please vote to have this roms released. Thank you.
P.S. I don't know no other way to state my vote, maybe by typing "please release"

Yes! I was on this for a year, and I had to finally move on -- one of the saddest days of my life. I would love to see Rev8!
Yea I'll vote even though Im on a Dinc now. I still have my Eris laying around enjoying its retired life. Could have made a poll to go with your thread.

This was one of my favorite roms. I use xtrSENSE now. The froyo and gingerbread roms are alright. I just don't really care for them. The sense based roms run so much smoother on my phone. I would love to see this reopened. I would definitely rock it.
Excellent people, keep it coming. We need to let MAK know that we love his work. GB is great but there are too many roms that look the same. I use now GSB and go back and forth with xtrSense/xtrRom. I would love to see this released. It'll be my everyday rom.
If this comes out I wouldn't get another phone. All these phones coming out with different UI and downloadable 3d ui's that the Eris can't handle. But if this comes out I'll be more than satified.
Hm, maybe I'm missing something, but I'm not sure I see whats so appealing about that UI. Hopefully this doesn't sound like I'm trying to rag on your idea, I'm not, trust me.
Are there any screenshots laying around that "show it off" a little better?

Its not my work, but somebody elses. Its simple and different from all those Gingerbread roms (they are all so plain). At least this rom has some themes that are appealing.
You may look on this thread on the 5th page for the zenexp rev7 to get an idea and some more info. but its the same screen shots I posted.

I had a feeling it was for people to create their own. I just noticed that with all the CM7 themes. they look awesome.
I would like to request if possible for someone to make a ROM based on the Final TMOUS Gingerbread ROM found here and including the HTC Sense found in this ROM here but with the added support of US English for Sense (only UK English is available in the Sense ROM so far).
This is sort of my dream ROM and I can only imagine it may also be for many more. Tons of thanks is awaiting and with high anticipation.
just wait a few more weeks and it will be released officialy!
HTC Sense is not just a program! HTC Sense is a composition of many programs and alterations to the Android system. You also need specific kernels and more thing to make it work.
You can't simply copy sense onto a non-sense rom. This will not work. To have Sense working, you will need a Sense based rom to start with.
What you would like, the T-Mobile release with Sense will never happen...
You will have to wait untill the Gingerbread release for the Desire Z is released. Only then will you have a final rom with Sense.
For a start wrong section should be in general.
And if I understand you correctly you are asking for an aosp rom to be merged with a sense rom? Generally getting elements of sense to work on a stock rom is very difficult because most aspects of sense need the sense framework and to get it worrking you would end up replacing most of the stock rom, so you may aswell just use a sense rom. Some things can be ported to stock roms though, you can get the sense keyboard and the live wallpapers, off the top of my head that's all I can think off.

unfortunately not really possible. Sense is a FRAMEWORK, not just a launcher. It includes SO much; it would be very time consuming to do, and you would end up with something that lags, and that is very unstable, Why? You have many good roms to choose from.
Lol this cracked me up. "I have no clue the ridiculous request and complexity of what I'm asking, but let's throw it out there cause xda devs are here to serve!" Think you need to learn a little bit more about your phone, android, and xda, and come back. Not being rude, I'm being honest. Your lucky you have not gotten worse responses than you have.

Yeah I was quite surpised coming from the HD2 forum how small the comunity over here was and was tempted to go for a more dev backed tablet but loved teh form facor of tab that much that I decided to go for it.
Im hoping that we may get some more devs coming over now that the 7" is much cheaper
BTW: Im not dissing current devs in any way, they do excellent work. Just saying that the more the merrier IMO.
My understanding of what this is would suggest that this won't make porting sense any easier. I thought it was a way for people to make apps more integrated with Sense.
Examples: 3D display, pen input and the like. Basically giving SDK access to all the proprietary crap HTC put into their phones.

Who knows?! The SDK for Honeycomb allowed people to make pretty complete ports of Honeycomb without the source code. The SDK woould give access to APIs and lead to more understanding of how Sense works. It might help.
I guess it could be worth a shot. It depends if it's the full Sense UISDK (like the Honeycomb SDK) or if it is just for making apps comoatable with Sense 3.0

Calling all Galaxy S II users.
How many of you would like to see the HTC Sense 3.0 in your S II?
If you would like to see it then post here. So that we can have the attention some brilliant devs who would want to work on it.
Come on guys its your chance to make your Galaxy S II look even better with Sense UI.
PLEASE DON'T POST THINGS LIKE USING A LAUNCHER ETC. THIS IS TO HAVE THE ORIGINAL SENSE UI ON S II NOT ANY LAUNCHERS.
Reserved
This is reserved for later
Well it would be nice to have the choice, but its not going to happen. They are struggling to get a functional CM7 on the SGSII, a functional Sense is an impossibility. But definitely would be nice...

I really like HTC sense! A great thanks in advance if you can bring "sense" to SGS2.
Thanks.
I hate it too. That's one of two reasons why i'm now with SGS2 and not HTC Sensation. I liked previous versions of Sense, but starting with Sense 2.1 they messed up app draver, sms app and so on. Sense 3 is a complete overbloated-missunderstanding.
If next HTC phone *will* have 4 gigs or RAM, i'm sure that 85% of it will be used by HTC bloatware. Just Windows Vista way.

Get the sensation instead if you want the UI.
Thumbs up from me. Switching from Desire to SGS2, I missed Sense the most, with all its details... (such as the ability to choose between contact names/pics on phone or Facebook, larger contact pics, smarter dialer, smarter keyboard(especially in Asian languages),the tiny thing even to fade in/out at the top/bottom screen while you're reading, etc.)
It's a pity that HTC doesn't do good harware and tends to reserve top specs for later phones (still can't believe they are shipping their flagship with 7xxmb ram and 1g rom. while iPhone is already rumoring for 64g.)
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
I for one want it.
And to those who don't,I want to say this.Wouldn't it feel good if your super device could actually run everything?Being restricted to Samsung's firmware isn't the spirit of XDA.We should all like the possibility that would give us more things to choose between. If in the end it becomes available, only those who want it should install it.No one's forcing you.So why discourage development of something many will find great?
