I have a short question regarding the Legend. Currently I'm on Blay0's 0.8.4 Rom, which is just awesome!
Is it possible to activate the option that during phonecalls the external loudspeaker will be switched on by turning round the phone (i.e. put it with the screen down on the table)?
I know that newer Sense and also the much older Windows Mobile Touch HD phones come with that option.
Is there any modification or app available for the Legend Sense Roms?
You MIGHT manage it with tasker (search el Google and the Market), but I'm not sure. Other than that, I don't think so
Hi TheGrammarFreak,
thank you for the hint with tasker. I didn't know that app before. I will have a look at that. But even if it doesn't work, you recommended me a great app!

Hello all.
I'm actually falling in love with Trinity but I'd like to ask about the quality of the phone module of this PPC.
I mean, is it ok as a phone? Has anyone encountered any problems such as echo, digital noise, etc? A lot of PPCs have these problems [for example 1) users can hear their own echo, 2) the other party can hear his echo, 3) digital noise when they speak, etc].
Some people mentioned that the now enabled GPS only works when the radio module is working, meaning that when you remove the sim card (so GSM or GPRS are not working) then the GPS module does not work. Is this really happening to anyone?
I'm also concerned about two other things...
First thing is the lock options for the phone. I know it doesn't have any lock button so what are the options for the locking of the phone or the screen? I mean if you have it in your pocket locked and it rings, and one button is pressed accidentally, does it mean that you are unlucky?
Second thing is the task manager. Is there any application that we can use to map it to a keyboard button so that we can switch tasks? Let's say I'm running a navigation application, and I want to switch to the phone pad to make a call, how could this be done?
Finally, what about the memory handling and the rom memory? How much free ram is available when you turn on the mobile (with the initial applications that come with the phone, or/and with the latest -enabling GPS - rom)? And how much free rom is available with the original rom and with the customized one (the one that enables GPS)?
I would appreciate it if you could answer some of these questions.
thanx in advance

It's more than OK as a phone!

I am not using the GPS ROM yet but keep in mind that removing the SIM card from the Trinity is so uncomfortable that it's not something you want to do very often!

There are several lock options, some requiring a password to unlock. When the phone is locked and you receive a call the only button to work is the answer key, which is pretty much the same as with all other phones.

Whatever application you are using if you press the "call" button you will go straight to the phone pad.

I don't know with the new GPS ROM but with the standard HTC ROM I think you get about 40MB of storage and 40MB for program execution after a hard reset.
Ok thanx for the reply.
I hope with the new roms that are being released the free storage space will be greater. 40 MB is not that good. I've had 63 MB at my Asus P525.
I am looking for a tweak or registry fix/setting to help me with the following problem:
On my parrot bluetooth car kit in headset mode after a call is finished the phone stays on. This is not a problem if you finish a normal call without handsfree because you switch it off manually but when you are driving with the phone in your pocket, the phone is liable to screen presses. I have been inadvertently creating/editing contacts and making notes with the phone in my pocket after use in the car.
The screen autopower off does work if the screen is not activated for a few minutes but the inadvertent screen presses occur within this timeframe.
Any help is appreciated - thanks!
I have a similar problem when using my bluetooth headset (Samsung WEP200)…
When I make a call using the headset the screen stays active, and if I turn it off during a call it turns it self on again after the call has ended. Not fun if it’s in my pocket and it decides to call someone back without me knowing.
Is there a general setting or fix that disables the screen when you answer or make a call with the headset active?
Have you found any solution to this?

Nope, not yet…
I can’t believe that there aren’t a lot more people with this problem!? It’s a REALLY STUPID problem to have on such an advanced phone like the Blacksone when nearly EVERY basic mobile phone has this feature since the dawn of BT headsets.
This might leave me no other choice than to retire my beloved Blackstone and dig up my old Samsung phone so that I can drive my car safely with my phone in my pocket…
There is an app called Touch InCall Screen Tweak. With that you can configure so that screen will go off quickly when answering and ending calls and bluetooth headset is used. It works great for me!

I actually tried that app yesterday but didn’t get it working as I wanted. How did you configure it?
I guess I can try it again – would be great if it works!
Well, now I can make a call without worrying about it to end (with the InCall Touch app), but when the call is ended we're back making random calls without knowing to whom.
This amazes me, how this feature can be missing. It’s not something I admit to my iPhone friends who still tries to find something that Blackstone can’t do – cuz this even works on the iPhone!
I'll try tweaking till I or someone else can find a solution to this rather embarrassing problem.
The dial pad tone on my Dhd has become very very low that I can hardly ear it,that sound setting don't help, any ideas?thanx
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Try installing audio manager from market and turn up system volume,... not sure where to find the system volume in phone settings but audio manager is good.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
Sorted the problem thanx, still weird how the system volume whent low.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
How'd you fix it?
(never mind) ... Why was it low in the first place?
Mine does this toodame happens to lock/unlock sound. I think it routes the sound to the call speaker instead of the rear speaker
Now that you mention it, I have the same. All my volume settings are set to Full and in sound options, I have selected to have sounds fr dial pad and for touch screen and for lock/unlock. I don't think they are redirected to call speaker because I don't hear sound there either.
Anyone found a solution without installing 3rd party app?
Ok, looked deeper into it and discovered that actually the only solution is the audio manager. It seems to be a must have as Android misses critical volume settings on its interface. That application is the only way to allow you to adjust the volume.
That's no excuse for HTC, Google or whoever is responsible for the Android OS or DHD. (really, who is responsible? I never thought that)
Going to give it a try myself as well.
Chefs, is there something that can be done on your end?
I use Sound Manager for this issue...happened to me twice already...
Other applications are responsible for this.
I too had faced this problem and suddenly the tones of dial pad were gone on my htc desire, it was only vibrating. The settings of Sound were all fine, still no tone. So being a tester I am, I backtracked and remembered what all I did.
It turned out when we install applications in Android we give them access to core functionalities of system. I had used Fring application prior in the day, where I had used Fring's Dialer pad. I logged into fring again went to dialer pad, increased volume and indicator said "Volume" unlike any other indicator of volume in HTC Desire. After increasing the volume, I logged out and went to phone dialer again, and tones were back. So our applications are responsible for turning down volume. A centralized application which controls all application can come in handy and there are few in android market available.
Hope this helped
I have deleted some apps from my phone following this problem but seemed to make no difference... today however the volume on dialer has returned to normal??? But also the noises on the qwerty pad now sound like an old fashioned typewriter??? My 4 yr old was messing with phone earlier but checked settings I can think of and nothing has changed... confused!
yea i got the same problem tried emailing HTC they dont know anything about it they just replied with
Kindly go to Menu>settings>sounds>check:
audible touch screen
audible selections
screen lock sounds
:/
thanx for XDA or i would've never sort it out
Hi all,
I have installed the 'hacked' version of Skype which allows video calling on the SGSII. However the problems also apply to the official one on the market. The problems I am having are namely:
1) In call volume is too low - I can barely hear the person on the other end of the line. I am apparently fine. When I switch to video mode, I can barely hear them on the external speaker. I have set the call volume to max which improved things a touch (via the main SGSII settings). Is there any way round this?
2) Proximity sensor does not appear to work. This is generally ok as the screen timeout eventually kicks in, however when I then need to go back into the app I have to get past the lockscreen. Is there any way to get the proximity sensor to work and thus when I need to access the app during or post call, I don't have to go through the lockscreen every time?
Thanks in advance.
Farvesh.
*Bump*
Don't like to normally do this but it has been almost a week and no response....
Does anyone have these issues or is it just me?
Sorry, but it works fine here.
I am pretty deaf and I could hear it fine via speaker.
And the proximity sensor worked well.
(using 2.0.0.47 hacked skype on VR2.0)
I have camera issues sometime (turn upside down). But not always.
I reverted back to the official but didn't notice any of your issues.
Not 100% sure if Skype was the cause but was cached in the background and battery depleted a lot quicker til i froze it with Titanium...
Would it not of been better to post your concerns over at the forum that is running the hacked program?
You'll get better results from there.

As I said in the first post the same applies to the normal version in the market. I guess it is only me then - that being said I am using LR 1.5. Proximity sensor definitely does not work (screen timeout eventually turns the screen off).
Sound is definitely low as well - I compare it to my wife's 3GS and there is a very clear difference. Have the same problem with Tango as well... It's either the rom or a setting somewhere. Thanks for your responses anyway - appreciate it.

Like I said you'll get better feedback from the forums dealing with the hacked skype version.
Go in there and post your issues along with rom details mobile to mobile or mobile to PC skype chats..
theos0o may ask for your skype log file... Hope this helps

My phone app messes up when I use the speaker phone. Speaker phone works, but when I turn it back off to use the earpiece, I don't get get any audio through the earpiece anymore no matter how much I toggle the speaker phone, but the speaker phone will continue to work so I'm pretty much forced to use it if I enabled it. Been doing it since I first installed the Pure Nexus ROM on marshmallow and every update since then after multiple clean installs.
I've posted the issue a few times in the Pure Nexus ROM thread with hardly any acknowledgement, so I have to think this isn't an issue with the ROM specifically.
The earpiece is very sporadic though, sometimes it will work street using the speaker phone (or a BT connection to my car or headset) and sometimes it won't. Seems to be about a 50/50 chance, so that makes it pretty weird.
I've tried using the AOSP and Google dialer/phone app with the same issue on both and made sure they were set as the phone app in the app info settings. I also uninstalled/disabled the other phone app woke using the other to ensure no conflicts occurred. Not sure what else to try.
Of course I'm rooted, running Franco Kernel and not using Xposed framework.
Any help is appreciated.
Guess no one here has any idea either?
