Yes it's similar as shown.
Only difirent colours, but i guess it's cause what kind of wallpaper is used.

I have the same problem.
Do you have any update on your situation?

I had send it twice to repair.
First time they do nothing only a rom update.
The second time i urged to look inside the the tab, because the problem is there.
They have switched the mainboard.

Unresponsive touchscreen

Hello everybody
I just post this thread to talk over some weird problem that occurs to me.
I have a Galaxy tab 10.1v with the 3.0.1 HC system.
Since the beginning, generally when I am surfing with the browser and using the scroll bar or the keyboard, the screen just freeze few seconds. I can do anything. It is very frustrating
But also with other task as android market, with apps,...
The only thing working is to push the power off button and pushing again.
After that, it is working. Or to wait (+-30sec) to unfreeze the screen...
So I search trough the forum and find some stuffs talking over "unresponsive screen".
One talk over the fact that when 2 fingers touch in the same time the screen, it doesn't move.
I try but I am sure that it isn't the problem.
So is it a software issue that I can resolve or do I have a return to the manufacturer?
Thank you in advance
Sorry but anybody had already encounter and resolve this problem?
thank you
Have you tried a factory reset?

@UKseagull : yep I try so many times...
But the fact is that even after a factory reset, the problem comes early when it asks you to choose language or wifi connection for the 1st time....
Do you think the problem is coming from the touch screen?
I'm searching for the same answers... our Tabs must have been built on the same day!
Hi..
Some times im having the same problem...
I have tried to twist my tab by holding with two hands and twist. Some times after that it start to respond.. that makes me think its an hardware issue.
I also had that newton ring and got the screen replaced cous of that short after I bought it. I am not realy sure of anything.
Hopefully some one has a solution

Jonas

I wouldn't twist it. You'll likely break it for sure. I'd see about having it serviced.

[Q] Please help! Galaxy Y s5360 back button problem

Hi everybody, I searched around but still didn't find an answer for my problem (or maybe I didn't use the correct keyword) so I create a new theard here.
I bought a Galaxy Y s5360 3 weeks ago and updated (using Kies) to latest firmware
My phone info now (*#1234#)
PDA: S5360DXLA1
PHONE: S5360DXLA1
CSC: S5360XXVKL1
Android version 2.3.6
And It is rooted.
The problem as I said in the title is the back button (an sometime the left one), nothing happend when I tough it.
As I noticed, it freezes in 10s then back to normal (and may error again and again). this problem is random, it happend everywhere, opera, camera, file manager, winamp, or the screen. I tried to reset it to default setting but no luck.
Please help, it's so annoying.
Thank you very much!
So sorry for my English, it's not good.
are you using screen guard?if yes, you may try to cut only the part on back n menu button. changing the screen guard to a thinner and clear one is also a good idea. goodluck

Oh, yes, I have a screen protector and I usually clean it
I just wonder if it's the problem because with the same hand and proctector but the left button doesn't have this problem and back button return to work after about 10s without doing anything.
I'll back to my care center tomorrow to remove the protector and check if it works.
Thank you very much!
well, thats normal. we use back button more often than menu button.
Just for everybody searching for this question
The problem comes from the screen protector, cut it out and you'll see the result.
Remember to clean your hand + screen also
Thank you!

Use softkeys... it works like a charm
if everyone among us is having this problem, does it mean that its samsung's fault
The problem is due to screen guard. Get a new one. Also to avoid wear of screen guard use button savior from play store. It shows menu back home power volume etc buttons on screen just like tab.
it requires root access.

[Q] Touchscreen problem: hardware or software?

Hey
I had my Nexus 4 for a while now and today suddenly I have a problem with my touchscreen. It suddenly happend, it didn't fall or nothing.
So, the problem: there is a part of the screen that doesn't function properly. It's at a certain y value or height. It noticed this today when I wanted to swipe down the notification bar. Half the time it flips back up or doesn't do anything at all, sometimes it does work. If I swipe "fast" before that height, it usually works.
I downloaded an app to test the touchscreen and at that height it registers 2 or more fingers or it snaps above or under that line.
Can I fix this or do I need to bring it back for warranty? Is this a software or hardware issue? I also did a reset, but that didn't help...
I uploaded some videos to illustrate (can't post links so insert this in the youtube links please):
1. The problem: /watch?v=kNLbSU0smcw
2. Test: /watch?v=B8ERuBtYeBA
Edit: When I hold the phone horizontally, the notification bar works perfectly.
Many thanks,
Aaron
Update: from yesterday until now the screen was even worse, like I was touching it with 100 fingers, it went totally crazy...
A few hours later it works perfectly normal again
Any ideas?
Ok, I still have this problem...
However, the problem is present and I switch a few time to the lockscreen and back, it's fixed most the time. So I think this must be a software issue.
Maybe undoing a few updates might help? What's the best way to do that?
Are you on a Custom ROM / Kernel? If so, go back to stock ROM and Kernel and see if the problem still exists.
No, never used other roms, kernels or rooted..

I have the exact same issue.. Did you manage to solve it?
Nope, but sometimes I can use it like a week with no problem and sometimes I have it everyday.
At first I thought it might be because of the low temperature in my bedroom, but I tested it and I don't think that's the reason. I removed the cover I bought too, but I need to use it a bit longer to be sure it doesn't happen without cover. After that I'll put on the cover again and check again.
Is it possible that it happens when it is charging? Mine does this when it is charging.
No, as far as I know it's not affected by charging. The first time I had this problem I just picked it up from my desk..
I had touch screen issues as well, less than one month after getting the phone.
Occasionally, after pressing the power button to power up the display, the touch screen would not be responsive. I need to turn off/turn on the display again for it to work. It finally conked out one day when the entire part used for soft keys doesn't work anymore. Just an instant before this happened the touch screen started acting crazy for a few seconds.
Had the touch screen and LCD replaced under warranty.
The problem now is there's a bright white blob in the upper right corner of the LCD, and the proximity sensor sometimes doesn't work, resulting in no display when making or receiving a call.

Yeah, turning the display on/off a few times (so lock/unlock) helps sometimes. The warranty is a bit of a problem here, I bought it in Germany (MediaMarkt), but I live in Belgium. I tried registering at the LG site (Belgian version), but no option to select a Nexus 4 there for support... I did a live chat at the LG site, explained my problem and the helpdesk guy just left the chat I tried to contact them using Twitter, but they never replied. I asked MediaMarkt and they said I'd have to bring it in the a German MediaMarkt... It's a long way to Germany, so I'd rather not do that unless I can't solve it and they reject the warranty in Belgium (although they are obliged to).
I'm also worried that I'd get an even worse phone, like the problems you have with your new phone :s

Ok..I have a RaZr and this happened to me too. One fine day. Playing a game. In the middle of nowhere. I was scared. S*it scared. So what did i do?
I just did a soft reboot. Pressing the right combination of keys and the phone reboots.
Also, here is a very long drawn attempt, but can u try doing a wipe data/dalvik/cache?
Go into stock recovery and do the rest.
It may help, it may not help.
WARNING: YOU WILL LOSE ALL DATA while doing this.
And oh: I am sorry but I think this is a hardware issue. I may be wrong.
I had the same issue with my EVO LTE. It would go away and come back just like yours. It wasn't a software problem , so I sent it in under warranty and they're fixing it free of charge.

unlocked bootloader and then flashed stock 4.2.2 nakasi-jdq39-factory-c317339e.tar with google nexus 7 v5 toolkit, still no backlight.. it must be a hardware problem.. anyone how if it's expensive to replace the backlights? or whatever is called the lights that light up the screen..
From what I know, the backlight is bundled with the screen as one unit. Most likely need a new screen assembly.

yes, i asked some services, they said the same thing, too bad, because the screen is expensive... anyway, thanks for all the answers..
i have the same issue on 4.2.2
OP, with your nexus 7 do you have the issue when auto brightness is switched off and the brightness level maxed
mine seems to be related to auto brightness and brightness control whereby moving the slider below 50% switches backlight off completely.
here a video i made

i the meantime i'm gonna try and see if 4.3 resolves or try asus for RMA

You could flash stock rom with nexus rom toolkit to discard a software problem but if the problem persists, it sounds like a hardware issue and you should think about ordering a replacement if your N4 is still in warranty.

If back to stock fails too, you might try this mod to increase touchscreen sensitivity, but be careful I think only works on 4.2.2

If the issue is the same while at the recovery I am afraid to tell this is most certainly a hardware issue. You can try and install other kernels and mess around with screen sensitivity but I don't think it will help.

this is weird, I came here to ask for the same exact problem. I also have a part of the touch screen unresponsive, although at the very bottom (navbar unusable, I'm trying to make do with Pie Controls for now, god bless these guys. Highly recommended). Since the problem persists on recovery I though that alone ruled out a software fault, but it seems I'm not alone. I'm trying to understand, did it happen *just* after you guys upgraded or after a while? I'm on 4.4.4 since it came out and my display started acting weird only a couple days ago.
Also, did you receive any warning / strange behaviour before complete unresponsiveness? My screen seemed to registered "phantom presses" at the bottom margin of the display (in developers options I have activated the "show touches" feature), it seemed like I was on a swiping frenzy through the whole margin.

I noticed looking through google's official help forum that users affected by this generally have also experienced some sort of energy dispersion / bad isolation from whether the battery or the charging port, it's not clear. Namely, it seems that while charging from either a wall plug or a laptop / computer ghost touch phenomena and the like are more likely to happen. I can confirm these issues, although I didn't give them that much thought when they showed up.
(Also, it seems the majority of users have problem at the bottom of the screen / "nav bar").

This happens way too often. The wall charging socket at my workplace makes my phone go nuts whenever I connect it there. Touches are misunderstood (typing for instance is a bloody nightmare. Home button or recents button get "pressed" automatically). I've never seen this problem anywhere else. Looks like I'm not the only one. Hm!

Funnily enough, this phantom touches nonsense sometimes happened even when the phone was in my pocket. It would unlock the screen itself (Hellscore kernel allows swipe2wake, so phone would wake itself up) and start registering touches frenetically. The screen would refuse to acknowledge my touches; I was repeatedly forced to hard reboot the phone. This problem magically fixed itself, and reappeared a fortnight later. It turned out to be a digitizer issue; after getting the display replaced, I have no more issues. All is fine except for the mysterious wall charger touches.
Looks like my N4 loves to be touched. Dirty little boy.

I had the same issue - navigation bar was untochable in any position (vertical & horizontal). Flashing stock & other alternative ROMs did not solve the problem.
So I returned my N4 to my seller. He accepted the warranty issue and replaced during the reparation:
1. Screen. So I have a brand new screen.
2. Mother board. So I have a new IMEI.
So this isue is rare and has hardware reasons.
My dad has the same issue on his phone, only happened the other day
Happens in TWRP as well
i flashed Philz CWM and the nav keys work there, also in purity if you set the nav bar to 52 (stock is 48 i believe) the nav keys SLIGHTLY work
its weird because the nav keys dont work, yet i can swipe up and get google now?

Click to collapse
The swipe up is triggered by a point just above the home button. The bar has no work there.
<Insert witty quote here>
I been getting less and less of this after factory reset. One thing i learn is to keep my phone cool and also taking off the case. I figure that the overheating a tight grip on the phone is causing the phone to have these seizure like symptoms. Anyone know a rom i can flash to converse battery and keep my phone from overheating?
