Can someone tell me how to disable the "charging complete" notification? I charge my phone by the bed and it wakes me up every night. I have a non-rooted phone.
Thanks!
I think the only way to do it without any modification is to put the phone in silent mode.

trying this app now. I will let you guys know how it goes!

You can also just delete the sound from system/media/sounds/blahblah (cant remember preciesly)
I have seen that too. But don't you have to be rooted to move system files?
it was
mv /system/media/audio/ui/TW_Battery_caution.ogg /system/media/audio/ui/TW_Battery_caution.ogg.bak
But i get an error that i dont have permissions.
I think you only have to switch off the system volume.

This app seems to be working so far. Can another non-root user test it also to confirm? I guess ill know for sure tonight when im sleeping.
root your phone...it`s a must if you want to enjoy it ...
I am thinking about it. Im just kinda scared since its my work phone.
JVH seems to have made this worse. Even on silent and no vibration, it will vibrate when charging is complete. Stupid!
Other stupidities: if th ephone is too warm, it will show a pop-up that charging is not possible. When that popup is dismissed, it immediately reappears.
And it seems the charging method is changed: I cannot use the phone as a music player in the car when it is connected to car power: a continuous clicking/scratching sound appears. Didn't have that on 2.2.1...
Whats JVH?

I've heard rumours that it has been removed in some of the newest leaked firmwares. That makes me believe the severely retarded people at Samsung finally realized that their phone making an utterly annoying sound in the middle of the night perhaps isn't a very good idea.
Go to settings -> sounds and display and turn off notifcation ringtone. This will however turn off all notification sounds. You can the go into indivual apps like Messaging-> Menu -> notification sound on. You can do the same for gmai and others
Cheers

Geee, the sound is still there in Froyo JPH release. I wonder what the programmers at Samsung are thinking - I really wonder... This has to be the most obvious of all the things the SGS does all wrong.
Just make sure it's on vibrate/silent before you go to bed, then it won't annoy you.

Anyway putting the phone on silent is the best way for now

Agreed, until someone finds a one-click solution.
you don't need to delete the sound if you install this
Battery Full Popup Fix

Also note that JM7/8 does not have the annoying Battery problem.
EDIT: This is wrong, sorry. (They both do it.)

This allows you to disable the full battery pop-up.
I have tested this and it works successfully.
Of course, you have to be able to access testmode first, which is apparently different on the Epic4g than on our vibrants. Who knows how to get into testmode so we can try the same code?

Can we use that info for disabling the "battery full" sound?
I use a little app called 'Sweet Dreams' You just set it for a time when you usually go to bed and a time for when you usually get up, then it turns the phone to silent for you. I find it very handy as I often forgot to manually put the phone into silent mode.
Hi AllGamer, link is broken could you relink?
My alerts and ringtones just randomly stop playing and it just vibrates. Any ideas?

Need to know what ROM you're on.
I was on EE03 (Leaked rom) and it kept vibrating as if I was plugging in the USB every 2 minutes.
Same problem with mp3 and notification sounds, amazon player, pandora do not work as well.
Phone still rings.
the only way to fix is to reboot.
I'm full stock EC05 after OTA from EB13 OTA.
Extremely annoying because I cannot pinpoint the moment it happens.
Problem never happened on 2.1 and started after upgrading to EB13.
I have it happen to. I unmount and remount the sd card and it works fine.

It happens on my GF's phone. It will ring just fine then randomly only vibrate, then start ringing again. Even using built in ringtones from the phone. She is on Bonsai 3.0.1. I think it is the phone. I get cold sweats everytime I mess with her phone...she is so picky about where everything is.
I had this problem with my moment. The fix was to plug a jack into the headphone jack. Try it and see if it fixes the issue.

Hey
Over the last few days my phone has been making what sounds like a notification sound, it has two parts, a warbling sound followed by a beep. It doesn't sound like any notification from an app I use and the sound isn't in the default list of sounds or in media/audio/notifications/ and it continues to happen even if I have no apps running.
Has anyone had anything similar happen or know of a way to view what apps would permission to make notification sounds?
Thanks
Dan
Are you running stock or custom rom? If it's custom, just try to reflash it. Make sure to wipe cache/dalvik cache.

Stock rom.
I've stopped as many apps as possible and It just won't stop it.
I keep trying to record a snippet of the sound but predictably after going for about 10 minutes non stop it's now packed it in.
Probably the NFC sound.

My WiFi only 2012 Nexus 7 has started doing this also the past 2 days. I'm running stock 4.4.2 and have been going through turning off anything the might generate a notification and it still does it. On or off charger, full battery, cool to the touch, screen on or sleep, no alarms set, no appointments, no chats and basically nothing common or easily overlooked.
I thought for a second it was related to juice defender, I'm still exploring that possibility. Do you have JD on your device? I'm going to uninstall it on my device and see what happens, I'll update in a day or so with my outcome.
Just updated my nexus 7, totally stock, with the latest ota.
Problem is, it now randomly makes a weird notification sound but with nothing actually happening, means I can't Skype or watch anything without this annoyance..
Have switched off the nfc thing, tried having it plugged in or unplugged but still it persists, have even muted the notification volume but that doesn't work... It happens when apps are running and when they aren't, can't seem to isolate it at all but it's doing my nut in!!

Can you pinpoint what sound it is? And if you boot into safe mode, does the sound persist?

By any chance, does it kinda sound like the camera sound from Android 4.1, a melodic click? Or two very fast "knocks"? And keep me posted on safe mode's outcome. :good:

Oh. Hopefully the sound stays away now. Tell me if it ever comes back, okay? I'm more than willing to help.
Ok my Op5 has a pin and fingerprints, also bluetooth was off, so no BT Headset mixup there either.
And still, somehow, while with screen off, charging and laying locked on a table far away from me, it just called my father at 3:40 am...
i only noticed that cause my phone was ringing unexpected, remember its still 3:42 am... and my (very pissed) dad was calling me back, asking me why (the f.) i called him in the middle of the night..
which i clearly didnt.. but when i checked the call log, there was really an outgoing call at 3:40 am lasting 43 sec.
how is that even possible ?
im on OOS 4.5.8
Happened the same to me with my previous phone and it was my smartwatch the problem, in the middle of the night I somehow touched the screen and it called a random favorited contact...
Also do you have perhaps OK Google enabled?
You should turn on pocket mode from settings...

Put the phone screen facing down?
SkyNet just became self aware on your OP5! Destroy it now before it takes over everything!
oops it did it again... this time my phone called my mom on its own...
i have absolutely no idea how this is even possible... now i have dialer and contact app into the app locker and removed phone rights from every app who doesn't absolutely needs it.
Dude you seems to have some bloatware which might case such an issue i suggest you check all phone and call permissions and see if any suspicious app using call or phone premission you should turn off this and see if it will happen again

Anti virus on Android is a joke and completely useless. It won't detect anything that could be causing it.
The only way to know for sure is to catch a logcat when it happens. Other then that I would do a full wipe and only install apps from the play store.
