The carriers havent officially said that they will be carrying the sgs2. There are leaks that say each will be carrying a variant - Attain, Within and Function. However there hasn't been any specs released for those phones so we wont know what the differnces are just yet. Unless there has been a very recent announcement in which case I missed it

The closest to the galaxy S2 I would say is the Samsung Infuse 4G:
http://phandroid.com/2011/01/05/att...e-4g-with-4-5-inch-super-amoled-plus-display/
Almost the same as Galaxy S2, but 4,5 inch screen instead of 4,3 inc, half a milimeter thicker, 4g intead of hspa+ 3g (though I wonder if its real 4g), 4 buttons instead of 3 (so the search button is added).
I have no idea however if its available or when it will be, since it is for the american market and not the european - and i'm in europe and have the SGSII (very pleased with it, btw).
Maybe this helps!

Almost the same? Wrong.
Infuse is single core A8 CPU and only 512 MB RAM. And, it's using HSPA+, same exact thing as SGSII.
Other than the giant screen, its specs are almost identical to the SGSI (not the SGSII).

The infuse and sgs2 can handle the same data speeds.

Galaxy S2 would be 3g or 4g?

I know it's not a real 4g but t-mobile uses HSPA+ 21Mbps and sell it as a 4g.
And all I know is gsm version of sgs2 comes with HSPA+ 21Mbps.
So probably verizion version would be 3g but t-mobile version would be 4g out of the box? Just out of curiosity.
Frankly no one knows, just guessing and speculation now

I know it's just guessing and speculation now. But let's say sgs2 is already out in Europe and Korea and there is a rumor that sprint would roll out their version of sgs2 as early as end of next month. And there are news reports that samsung would roll out sgs2 lte (1.7gh snapdragon) on September in Korea. These mean if verizon rolls out sgs2 before September it would be definitely 3g. And if t-mo rolls out same sgs2 around that time frame (although it's gsm) they gonna sell that same phone as 4g(also it would be a lot faster than verizon's 3g). And for at&t they could use HSPA+(not sure). So if verizon rolls out sgs2 before September it cannot compete with t-mo or at&t variant. If verizon wants to compete with t-mo or at&t (probably they gonna advertise sgs2 as 4g) verizon should wait till sgs2 lte would come out.
So My guess is we gotta wait till late September or later for lte version.

Until someone has the production ready device in hand and can examine the hardware, or Samsung/VZW release the product specs, there is nothing definite. Even if one could get ahold of pre-release software/firmware, there would be nothing that confirm nothing, just show you want pre-production models are using. So, if you want to continue speculation, the SGS2 will show up and make you 3 square meals a day, clean your house, teleport you to work, and shoot out rainbows and unicorns when you're feeling blue. Until actual device specs come out, it's anyone's guess as to what the SGS2 will be like on VZW.
I understand what you mean, sir.
I'm just curious. When I saw the spec of sgs2 I saw HSPA+ 21m. That means if t-mo release sgs2 now they could brand it as a 4G device. On the other hand if verizon rolls out sgs2 now they can not claim it as a 4G device. What I mean is if that is the case there should be some impact for pricing the device, especially droid charge cost $300 which isn't big difference from fascinate except samoled+ & lte modem. We'll see when it comes out.

VZW wouldn't be releasing the same device as T-Mobile anyways, because of GSM vs. CDMA. So who's to say that VZW wouldn't put in an LTE radio in their version now? The 10.1 Tab will be LTE on VZW in July and has the same slim form factor. I don't see why they wouldn't do the same for the SGS II
You're right. T-mo and verizon use different tech(gsm vs cdma) but when galaxy s variants came out on big 4 they all have almost identical spec. So I just guess that would happen again for sgs2. Also samsung can put lte modem for function(verizon). But news release in Korea indicate samsung release first lte version of sgs2 for Korean market on september. Even if samsung could make lte version of sgs2 before september then what about the droid charge? if verizon release function with lte within a few months it's gonna go over $350 with 2 yr contract cause charge is $300.
Anyway it's gonna be very interesting.
I would think if anything, the Charge would drop in price and the SGS II would take it's place, price-wise
Yep. That would make sense.
l just hope it would stay within price range I can afford.

There were some other differences, too. The Fascinate and Epic had camera flashes while the others didn't, and the Fascinate has 25% less RAM.
The Fascinate also came out nearly 2 months after T-Mobile's Vibrant. Long story short, what other carriers do or don't do is completely irrelevant to us.
As long as I remember all 4 variants of galaxy s fo US market have 512mb ram. What I remember is system info (quadrant) on captivate shows around 340mb something which is almost same as fascinate.

With the latest roms available I would easily be satisfied with the fascinate for another two years if only it had a little more ram. Ram is really my only complaint at all with this phone.
XDA Prem app Running UKB w PBJ
At first I was thinking 3G since they couldn't fit an LTE radio. But they managed to squeeze one in the 8.6mm GTab 10.1, so maybe they can here too. Even if they have to make it 8.6mm thin, I won't care, it'll be an awesome device. Unless Verizon Bings this one.
It would be nice, but it would call for some heavy duty changes by Samsung engineering wise. Have you noticed the sheer size of the lte phones? The whole lte system doesn't have the whole system on a chip it and it requires two separate radios, which is why it allows talk and surfing. This would make the galaxy s2 pretty huge unless Samsung has created an lte system on a chip for this phone.
According to the leaked rumored spec sheet, 4G will be included. Here is the link below.

Galaxy S II LTE being released on 11/6/11 for ATT

http://m.bgr.com/2011/10/31/samsung-galaxy-s-ii-lte-skyrocket-landing-on-att-november-6th-for-250/
Noticed this on another site this morning.
I have a 5" streak, and who knows if/when the Samsung Note will hit the states.
Might have to give this one a look. The 4.3" screen looked too small to me, the extra .2" probably won't make much difference, but I'll take another look at it.
I had the Streak too. I want the Note, but its too much for me right now. My Dad is going to get it though....Can't wait to play with his
I already have a SGS II (unlocked UK model) on AT&T's network. So I don't see much point in upgrading to this phone (especially since AT&T's LTE network is still in its infancy). For my next phone I want at least a "retina" type display with LTE... Maybe a SGS III?

galaxy s2 HD has retina display, however it haven't mention anything release about the HD version yet. Damn it i want the HD version not the regular version, so does anyone know if it plan to release the HD version anytime soon or it is going to wait for ics or galaxy nexus to release first
Guys ...clove has their Note in stock Thurs....as does Expansys...by the end of the week.
I think its gonna be a while before carriers get it. Percieved as too risky because of the size.
Novelty item....
The Note is way too big to be used as a phone.

As for this phone, it probably uses the Qualcomm chip so no thanks.

The Skyrocket uses a Qualcomm chip and is directly related to the Celox/Hercules/TSGS2. Unless someone has a burning need for LTE (it's currently available in six cities) or the bigger screen it doesn't seem worth giving up Exynos.

Yeah I won't the hd lte if any body hears any thing from any country let me know

So I made my choice of the unbranded Exnoyos GS2 over the us S3 Gs2

After much reading the Exnos CPU is a way better CPU and faster then the S3 and they say the Uk Gs2 will get Ics before the Us versions being is network free as far as screen size I can't Even see the. 2 in size but one thing I will say the unbranded gs2 is light years thinner then the us versions by a long shot I mean this thing is Sleeeeek... as He'll almost to thin..but anyways that's the reason I chose the unbranded Gs2 and yes for now I'm on edge yuck.. haha until I switch to H2O wireless but I carry a clear spot 4g hotspot everywhere so I'm good.

AT&T's version of Galaxy Note - Leaked Image

After selling 1 million Galaxy Note globally, Samsung is going to launch it in United States. A leaked image of AT&T’s version of Note is surface over web. The device to come with NFC and LTE...........

At least it is not an iphone. The lte feature will be useless for most until iphone lte makes its ulgy apperance.
I am so glad I got mine before AT&T gets a hold of it and bloats it up and put LTE on it and kills the great battery life. No thanks! I will stick with HSPA+, better battery life, no bloat, and timely updates. I have my skyrocket for LTE and NFC etc. One upside will be that there will be more cases etc to choose from once it launches here in the USA.
I am sure AT&T will announce it at CES coming up.
I'm on AT&T and care not. Love my international version. I just hope AT&T doesn't cook up some crappy new plan for the Note since the average consumer will closely identify it with a tablet (because of screen size and stylus). That may impact us users on our current data plan...

True, but probably accurate. They have to stick their logo on it and cram the Samsung name in between the screen and capacitive buttons like they did the skyrocket.

I prefer the 4 capacitive buttons like the Nexus S, more functional and I hate the home button in the international version. It also gets NFC.
But if the snapdragon rumors are true, then I definitely would keep my international version over US version.

I feel it is the opposite. Part of the reason there are so many Iphone accessories, is that there is only one Physical version.
DO NOT WANT.
Why would they mangle a beautiful device like that? I hate capacitive buttons. Besides, with the S-pen gesture recognition, they aren't even necessary. They're just there to be accidentally pressed when you're trying to hold the thing in landscape.
Same here. By the time at&t gets enough LTE penetration in the USA market, the Note 3 or 4 will be out LOL.
I prefer a manufacturer device, than a carrier branded device. Less bloat & crippling.

Couldn't agree with you more. This device's attractiveness comes with the ability to take notes and the more obstructions the less attractive that beautiful option becomes.

If they do not change the dimensions of the Note, you do not think there will be more accessories available here in the US for it? What does a home button versus capacitive buttons have to do with cases?

It's really up to you but you'll be paying a premium getting the international unlocked version of the phone. I payed 649$ on Amazon. But it won't have the carrier bloatware, if you get the UK version you won't have LTE which can be a plus depending on your coverage area and if you don't mind having a lowered battery life. There is also the processor which is different the international version has the exynos which is a lot better than the snapdragon processor going to be put in the US release. To each his own in the end but I'm glad that I got the international version, best phone I've ever owned period and I will continue to use it until the next version comes out. I'll most likely import that too hahaha

Different versions of galaxy note

Samwung galaxy note comes with sooo many version...
There is the original version in 1.4 ghz processor
A korean version (like mine) packed with 1.5ghz processor, 4G LTE, a tv module and a bit thicker compared to the original
And I saw another one, galaxy note with no physical button... just 4 old school touch bottons
its really confusing and disappointing that samsung is like selling different kinds of phone in one name. And with that, its so hard to customize it because of major hardware differences..

The home market will always get the LTE with the TV module version. Thats what they did with the SGS II as well.
The 1.4 Ghz version with the physical home button is their international version which is sold ALL OVER aside from the U.S.
the "Old School" 4 Button one you refer to is the U.S version. Its specified that all devices they sell will have the 4 capacitive buttons to follow a schema. Also the U.S version will get a Snapdragon processor. As to the reason behind why the diff processor is unknown to me. I am sure there is some tie up or standard set behind that.
Same was the case with the SGS II variants. Aside from the ATT version of the original SGS II (not Skyrocket).
Majority of the people wont MOD their device and those who do, will come to XDA to obtain the proper MOD / ROM for their specific device.
The buttonless version it's the US at&t LTE note. Basically the same as your Korean.

The reason Qualcomm CPU is used is because it supports 4G LTE, and the Samsung Exynos does not. Sadly the 1.5Ghz Qualcomm CPU is considerably slower than the Exynos chip. Qualcomm is Cortex A8 chip, Exynos 4210 is Cortex A9 chip, which is more effective and faster.

And why its different from n7000? Because samsungs CPU doesn't support lte. So they have to use a different CPU till they have a working lte exynos cpu.

I read lots of Korean galaxy note forum through internet and lots of people in Korea have bought international version of galaxy note because of the hardware differences and other reason is that Korean version of note comes with LTE which is amazingly fast. I mean its super fast as I saw the demo of it but you have to pay a price for it!! since its just started recently. However, because its new and there are lots of places in korea where LTE coverage is an issue as well and that is why lot of people have bought international version of note as 3g data plan is unlimited whereas LTE is not...
