hi,
i'm french using freebox ADSL modem (Full dégroupé) V5. I've bought an Acer Iconia 500...all was great no problem with wifi connection.
I've just changed 5 days ago my frebbox V5 for the new one the V6...and then no more wifi connection for my Iconia A500.
I don't understand because all parameters of the V5 freebox are pushed by the free management operator's site in the new one.
I've checked in the freebox management software all informations are the same like old version.
All my others PC (notebooks & Netbooks) or Smartphones (Samsung Galaxy S) find and can use the wifi signal of the new Freebox.
In this new box (Freebox) diffrence is just an 802.11n implementation (V5 = G mode).
I've tried to downsize wifi signal from N to G, but problem still continue.
Has some one an idea or solution???
Thank you all for your help.
BR
Marc
Is there an option to set the network to Ad-Hoc or Infrastructure? The A500 can not use Ad-Hoc, so you need to set it to Infrastructure. If the A500 does not even display the network, then this is probably the problem. I had the same problem when using my iPhone as an access point. All other pcs could see the network except the A500.
if there is a reset button on the modem, just pressed it and reset all settings..
my friends problem gone with that..

Hi all,
I'm tring to connect my galaxy tab to internet through wifi tether on milestone and the tab can't see the milestone wifi network.
I know for sure that milestone's wifi tether works fine because I can use it with my laptop.
Anyone has the same issue?
How can I solve?
hi
i used the wifi hotspot of my desire and it worked great.
what i miss is the capability to find and connect to Ad Hoc's
(they just dont appear in the networks list on my tab)
maybe the milestone is creating a ad hoc.
Yes it is..
How can i make a different network type and fix it?

Same here bro... ill look into it.
Yeah. Am having the exact same issue as well.
wifi problem (can't see tether)
Hi guyz,
Just opened my brand new Galaxy tab , I'm having the same issue: he doesn't see any tether network (from my windows mobile 6.1 htc p3650) neither any "ad hoc" network created from my laptop pc sony vaio.
On the xds forum I found this solution http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7711198&postcount=6
(originally created by "daveba")
and here there is a video with the procedure http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5o5WlyA7WI&feature=player_embedded
Hope you (and me) will solve with this trick,
please report me any problems /other ways to fix
Thank you, good work
faredino
(more: I'm not sure that the galaxy tab can connect to other wi-fi network since I just unwrapped it and there are no other wifi net nearby!...hope it's not a problem of MINE TAB only!!! :O )

Hello. I'm new to xda. I have problem with my Xperia X10i. When I try connect to a wi-fi network it take forever to get its ip adreses and i don't know if it succeeds or not because after that is say's connected with limited connectivity. I have searched the web and xda but nobody has a solution to this problem. I am running Android 2.3.3 updated through SEUS. Not rooted or anything. What can I do?
I had the same problem, so I feel your pain. Go into android market search wifi fix..if the app doesn't solve the problem, reset the router. Hope this helps.

the only issue i am having with wifi sense ive had this phone has been connecting to linksys wireless N routers. i have turned off N functionality of the router using b/g only but all the phone does is alternation between "scanning/disconnected" doesnt try to obtain IP address or anything. its only those routers i have issues with. belkin wireless N works fine (with N turned off of course)
I had a similar problem, I solved it with wifi fix, thanks.
If you updated your x10 through the SEUS...its probably problem on your wifi router..try to reset settings and power off your router..

Okay, so I'm trying to help a guy with his Xperia X10a. He doesn't have wifi working and does not a have an account for the phone so no 3G. He needs to download wifi fix, can he just download it on his computer and then tether it and sideload?
1.make sure that ur access point has internet access.
2.if there's no server then ask ur ISP about static IP & gateway
3.if there's a server..then ask if u can get a static IP
4.also try "forget" then reconnect and if the wifi with a password then it might be wrong
don't connect ur modem in bridge mode.......
Still not working
I have tried the wi-fi fix app and nothing changed. I have found a temporary solution in witch you use static ip on your phone. But this solution is just for home because in a pub or any free hotspot it still doesn't work. Now I have flashed CM7 to my x10 and the wi-fi seems to work a little bit better but not perfect. And the wi-fi range is also poor on X10 compared to a Iphone 3GS or even a Optimus Black.

Orginally yes poor range..don't compare to a s60 nokia phone
i think problem is your wi fi modem , try to setting your modem again ,
Go to setting >Wireless > Security
and
Select SSID: Modem Name
Network Authentication: Open
WEP Encryption: Enabled
Encryption Strength: 128
Current Network Key: 1 ( up to you )
Network Key 1: xxxxxxxx ( 13 characters ) and try again to connect
I think I solved the wifi issue after updated to xxlq1 4.0.4
My p6800 updated to 4.0.4 and unable to connect home wifi, however, it connect to office wifi very stable.
Today, I tried to config wireless router, and found that my tab is able to connect when I set the wireless in wpa-tkip, and it keep connect strength and no problem now. (My router previous setting was in wpa2-aes)
I think it should be the p6800 driver problem, hope someone can fix it.
Thx
Sam

Hi. Nice to meet people from Hong Kong here. May I ask How's the xxlq1 Android 4.0.4 rom? Is it much smoother than original official Android 3.2? Any Pros and Cons compared with 3.2?
Thanks a lot.

I've a similar situation, the wifi connection to home wifi (Open, Mac Filtering, Dynamic IP) really sucks, but connection to office wifi (WPA, Hidden SSID, static IP) very good.
I've just factory reset my home wifi and set to using WPA-TKIP, Hidden SSID, but it didn't really help. My notebook, Galaxy Note, iPhone4s, iPad2 all get connection very quickly and stable, but not my Tab 7.7...
I update it from 3.2 with mobile ODIN without wipe to keep all apps and data, after update all apps work.
4.0.4 is good and smooth, only problem is wifi at home, but office work.
I backup the room, and tried fresh flash 4.0.4 only, and wipe all data, still not work.
So I think of router and try to config router to fix this issue.
Now I am happy with new rom.

Check them channel on the router. Find a clear channel using a wifi sniffer and try again. I did this and have no issues now.

Hi dudes, im new...and old^^
does anyone know how to fasten the wifi ?
Hoped the rooted pad + revolver rom worx faster with wifi...
But nothin noticeable faster with wifi...
THX 4 answers!!!
BEst regards, Oliver
what are you talking about?
...the wireless internet connection from the eee pad is slow as hell!
You keep using that word, 'fasten'. I don't think it means what you think it means.
ok well in order to give you and advice or help or tips on how to speed up your throughput over your wifi connection, we're gonna need to know exactly how your network is setup. router, other wireless and wired clients that might be on the network, wireless configuration and settings on both the router and the other devices, etc, etc, etc. so get all that info, come back post it up and i'll see if theres any room for improvement.
...in the deed - fasten was wrong^^ - faster!
Sry. my english isn´t that good.
AND - my known configurations - using cable @ 20mbit with an D-Link DIR-645 / 802.11n.
Connected with cable to my pc...wireless of course two mobile phones, and a laptop above
(mostly disconnected) - in the hole appartment we got full shown wifi receiving.
Dont manage any special settings for the router, using auto setup with WPA2...
The EEE Pad (only WiFI) is rootet and got the revolver rom on it.
Im not a specialist in configuing networks u see^^
I hope thats of course enough info?!
THX for help - regards, Oliver
Is it even possible..?
Mine is pretty fast though.
Decend for me.
The problem with the TF101 only uses the 2.4 Ghz band and not the faster 5 Ghz.You can setup the router to only have the 101 on the 2.4 band and everything else use the 5Ghz for devices that can use that.
Is it just me who is having Wi-Fi problems?
I use the wireless internet on my PC. It connects fine, good reception.
But my tf101 has trouble connecting... it sometimes connects, but then it loses connection randomly. Sometimes the wireless network isn't even under the listed available networks, it just disappears. But then, nek minit, it reappears, and attempts to reconnecting. It sometimes fails and sometimes manages to reconnect for either a brief moment or a long time(rare).
Anyone else ?
Hello. First of all I want to apologize for my bad English... I'm still learning it. Second of all, this problem is appearing on any device I try to connect to my PC's Wifi Hotspot, but to be specific:
- Huawei Ascend Y511
- Samsung Galaxy Y (GT5360, not really sure for that one, I don't have access to check the exact model)
- Vonino Sirius QS (Tablet)
- Prestigio Quantum Multipad 4 (9.7" / Tablet)
- Samsung Galaxy Tab3 8.0
- Samsung Galaxy S4 / S5
- LG G Flex
(I have a hobby to collect different phones and tablets, yeah... it's crazy I know )
Recently I installed Windows 7 on my laptop because the old windows XP was bugged completely... The only working components were the browser and the Bluetooth (Which is not working currently). First of all I tried to start a wifi hotspot from the networking and sharing center that comes with Windows 7, but I couldn't manage to do so. So I went to another option - softwares that enable the Wifi Hotspot on your laptop. The best result I got was Connectify, but I don't have the funds to buy it, so I used it temporarly (a week or so), and then it stopped working (Ethernet Sharing problems). Since then all the softwares I tried are starting the Wifi Hotspot, but when I try to connect every device gets stuck at "Obtaining IP Adress...". I tried looking for solutions, but I couldn't find anything that helps. I tried setting the IP adress to automatically obtain IP adress (The one in the change adapter settings tab in Control Panel), but then the network itself does not want to work. I ran out of ideas on how I can fix this...
Just some additional info: The local area connection is shared and the wifi is allowed, also the WLAN Autoconfig service is working properly.
Refresh IP

Did that many times, but didn't work. I just hate Windows 7... it's the worst windows for network adapters -.-
