Its the same thing like all saying that all black x8 has cypress (when mine is synaptcis) or x8 made in 2011 year also has only cypress (when mine is 2011 February)

Isn't it true that the Nokia N8 has the same chip as the X8? And that has DT.

Nokia N8 has DT emulated by software. It's impossible for X8

Please explain that more...
How it can be emulated if the chip supports only 1 touch?
The digitizer is the same?

damn we have went through this very same discussion like 2 months ago we can't get MT on this sh*t synaptics digitizer, thx sony ericsh*t for manipulating your customers....

There wasn't any discussion about all black X8s has got cypress. As I know the X8s that are produced _after_ march (no, march 29 is still March) are came out with cypress. To be more precise, check the cypress-ercsson licence, there must be a date on it...

I have black x8 and has synaptic =( =( =(!!!

Guys the date of production and the color doesn't matter because I bought my X8 (white) last X-mas and it has cypress digitizer
Maybe the country you bought it matters!

Why it's impossible, someone should study Nokia N8(Symbian) software, find out how it emulates DT. and It should be ported to X8(Android) A dev can't really port it, but if he knows how DT on N8 works, he should be able to make something similar for our X8

there will be no multitouche on the x10 but there is a chance for dual touche for zoming ands so. you realy dont use more then 2 fingers. i NEVER has seeing once annybody using 3 fingers on a multitouch phone or more ;-)

My understanding is the patent is on MultiTouch not DualTouch.
The HTC Desire has DualTouch and NOT MultiTouch for this exact reason, nowhere have HTC stated that their handset has multitouch, they ONLY and explicitly said "Pinch to Zoom" and automatically everyone assumed multitouch!
This is the same reason why SE have not included MultiTouch (Apple will even sue their pet GOLDFISH too!!), instead of paying to use multitouch they opted to save the money and leave the feature out.
However, im going on a limb here and going to be optimistic on this situation and "hope" they have at the very least included a Dual Touch display!
i remember that i readed a post here in xda before mentioned that multitouch for x10 is possible to be achive by kernel code or something.
anyway i dont think se will keep their mouth shut about ther will give x10 dualtouch if they really working on this. this is hurting they sales.
i think the x10 has at least a dual touch screen. they said that they maybe give a sw update to fix this and long after this phone h s been on the m rket they say there is hw problem. cant belive they found out after the phone was in masse produktion that they notice it dosen... no way! i think its to expensive for the license. but maybe we find out about tyat if the root will be archived ;-)

Exactly! The same thing they did on the P900 to the P910. And, than there was the X1 to the X2.

Looking at the ad and translating it to English and then reading it in context it's obvious it is a marketing scheme. I don't understand why people are getting mad that a company wants to trick another group of people in to buying their product.

Did you read any of the blog comments?
Even the one's SE deleted?
:edit
What seems like an eternity ago, the X10 was announced with a capacitive screen but no support for multitouch and was met with incessant rants from users all demanding the same thing in rather an “Attack Of The Clones”. Sony Ericsson suffered greatly with negative reviews flowing in, not helped by the outdated OS, and it seemed the “Revenge Of The SE-haters” was stronger than ever. However, keen fans were offered “A New Hope” when Sony Ericsson suggested via their blog that the feature would be added in future updates:
“Xperia X10 has a capacitive screen. It does not support multi-touch functionality at launch, but is considered for the future.”
Sumit Malhotra
That hope was soon dashed though as the “Empire Struck Back” when SE stated that the X10 would not be receiving multitouch and lacked support for the feature through both software and hardware limitations:
“I don’t have any technical details around the screen to share, sorry! – However I have now gotten confirmation on the question of multi touch. As said earlier there’s no multitouch in X10 – and I also can confirm that it’s not only related to SW but also to HW.”
Rikard Skogberg
It appeared all hope was lost as without hardware support there was surely no way back but on a remote moon some determined hackers were not about to give up and managed to make rudimentary multitouch gestures work on the X10. SE apparently noticed this and decided, not to be shown up by the community, that they should get in on the act themselves which brings us officially to the “Return Of The Multitouch”!

like I said though people were definitely upset but I hardly saw a huge outcry, not like the one there was for support past 2.1 anyhow.
Regardless, if we could even improve this dual touch I would be happy, playing games us brutal when one of the controls either sticks or doesn't respond..

I don't think that's the real design shown on the net. SE's phones are always revolutionary in design and I certainly do not want an "Arc-head-Neo-butt" phone. But the specs are not just nice, it's incredible. But there's no official announcement so.. :\
Yes I've read the new Arc S but I doubt it's going to be much of an attention anyway. They could have at least increased the RAM or just a little modification but nothing. Anyone could've flashed a custom kernel and get it up to 1.8Ghz on 8255 chips.

There is no motivation in the world that can make an impossible thing possible.. You have to flash a chip with modified firmware.
First of no one has the firmware, second, we'll probably never know how to flash it without desoldering the chip and have a dedicated programmer.
Lets forget it.. It's easier to get a cypress panel.
