My friend's Xperia X8 had problems last time, getting stuck at boot. I fixed it, rooted it, threw some stable things on (ROM, app mods etc). Fine, except camera wasn't working.
Anyways, phone turned off last week and now refuses to come back on, not even when plugged into the wall or by USB.
Isn't showing up in ADB (obviously) and also not being picked up by SE PC Companion.
Miserably failing here, can't think of any ideas so, can you guys help me out?

2-3 times a day I have to take out the battery because the phone will not respond. How can I find what is causing this? Is there any event viewer / error log or any way of debugging this?
I've also had this problem when powering up the device from being completely turned off. I have to reset and remove the battery a couple of times before it works properly again. Usually I get stuck on the mindows mobile startup screen (after the xperia one), or on the today page before it loads my plugins. The shell is unresponsive but I can use other panels okay.
It seems to corellate with powering off/on the device while it has a USB connection to either the computer or mains.
(I've got a black X1i on Voda UK, latest ROM available afaik)
I too am having this problem. I am now on my second handset in 2 weeks because of this. My replacement handset is doing the same. I am seriously considering changing to a different phone.
my X1 only started locking up itself without apparent reason when I installed TouchFLO3D.
Upon removal, everything normal.
check your software, also check if it hangs without having things installed appart from stock softwar.e
i had SPB shell installed. I have now uninstalled it so see how it goes

This seems to be the same problem I have with my Voda UK Xperia. Only problem is, 1) It happens without a USB connection and 2) I have flashed to the generic ROM and I still have the same problems. So I guess it's not Voda related.
Possibly. I only got mine on Thursday, it first happened on Friday...only seems to occur with the USB connection for me.
I've not installed much or fiddled with the firmware. Just realised that it seems to have happened after I installed Xperia Tweak - might be that I've got the wrong version. I will uninstall and let you know whether it sorts it.
Either way, I can definitely invoke it by powering it off with an active USB connection.
I had also the same problems, after updating to an R2 ROM the problem was solved!!!
Same issue here. I've used custom ROMs from ITJE, Jack and Timur. No difference, still freezes and I have to soft-reset or do a battery pull. Anyone else having this issue? Thx.
since iv had the phone is freeze is little more than sometimes. i'v had it stock all the way with no tf3d or anything and still does it. it happens no matter what. sometimes the phone just shuts off w/o me noticing and i have to take the battery out. but what gets me is not all the freezing believe it or not what gets me is im gonna break my phone by just taking out the battery cover. i mean what the hell is wrong with that design. i feel like sooner or later im gonna break something eventually or put a crack in the plastic part of the phone.
my phone started to hang when I switch panels more than once per boot. It has to be connected to some software installed lately, because it did+g occur before.
OK, problem appears to be solved: my Xperia hasn't freezed in 36 hours, since I installed custom ROM "Touch-IT v7" by ITJE. Will report back after a few days just to be sure. Cheers.
Still no freezes.
I guess **** happened...
At morning taking phone from the dock, I noticed some apps FC. And it continued sporadically along day, so at one point I simply decided to reboot. Phone turned of fine... However I was unable to turn it on immediately after. It was showing black battery. Whatever I did no dice. I even tried my wifes phone battery.
That happened on the road, so at one point I decided to plug it in. Oh miracle - phone booted with power!!! But then my troubles worsened, because I've noticed that it always shows USB connected, starts desk home in night mode, shows battary constantly charging. Stuff like this. I've tried factory reset, reflash to stock DJ05. Nothing helped. Now it getting worse, because screen started to blink when on power...
Does it sounds familiar to somebody? Need to replace?
After trying everything I can imagine, it is kind of obvious that I have HW failure. My problem is that in order to return it back to Verizon I need to have DI01. I did backup from recovery before flashing DJ05.
All this is fine, however I'm not sure if this backup will restore radio. I guess not. If not, how I can flash one? I'm having problems to get in download mode and I think ODIN is unable to detect port. Do we have radio zip i can flash with recovery?
My first fascinate had the same problem, had to return it.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
It seems like USB is still alive, at least partially. After countless attempts I managed to connect it computer in download mode and flashed DI01. At first it looked like it fixed the problem... However now USB indicator changes on and off constantly. If you turn it off it reappears in a few seconds. Only upside is that comp sees it and I now have unrooted DI01.
Sad. My phone was in mint condition after over 3 months of usage. Who knows what kind of refarb I'll get.
Hey guys I'm having some trouble with my Nexus 4 that i've never faced with any of my previous android devices. Any idea or help would be appreciated but before jumping in some quick background info.
I received the Nexus 4 on the 21st so last Wednesday. Since then it has been running the stock rom, the only difference is I rooted it. Besides that nothing else has been tweaked no kernel, rom, etc. The device had been running perfectly, I do not play intensive games, never ran any benchmark, etc. Just call, text, Facebook, xda, and other simple apps.
Now the issue. Today at work I received a text, when i attempted to turn on my phone nothing happened. Thinking it had frozen I held the power button to restart it but once again nothing happened. I couldn't do much because I was at work, I just got home and tried charging it thinking somehow the battery died (although it was at 80 percent). My qi charger recognizes it and supposedly charged. I tried turning it on but once again nothing. I finally connected it to my computer and it comes up on the device manager as QHSUB_DLOAD

Same here, last Sunday I turned my device off and since then I am not able to get it back on again. It has been off the charger now for a night hoping some rest would do the trick, nothing. Same as for a night on the charger, nothing happens. Its completely dead apart from a red led when I press the power button for 10 seconfs and the QHUSB_DLOAD I see when connecting it to my PC. Not rooted or anything
What method did you use to unlock and root the phone?
Hi all,
My galaxy s5 is stuck in a reboot loop. It started doing this today around 12:18pm and I can't get it to stay on long enough to back up my data. I took it to AT&T and they basically did nothing but tried a different battery and booted into safe mode. Neither of those options worked. I took it to best buy and the tech installed the latest updated and flashed the ROM (I believe). Still didnt work. She believed the issue was with the battery but didnt have any new ones there to test so I went to batteries plus and tested a brand new battery, still is rebooting. I am home now and just wiped the cache in recovery mode, still not working. Is there anyway at all I can get this phone to turn on long enough to backup my data? Any other commands I can try to clear whatever is causing this? I was not using my phone when this happened. It died at 15% which I didnt make too big a deal of because I know the battery has been weakening, but when I charged it up for a bit then turned it on, this problem started. When I turned it on, I had a text message coming through and then it restarted. As I was able to get it on for a bit that same text kept coming in over and over again so I thought maybe something with the messaging app and I disabled that all together but the problem remains. I hope someone can help me out here. Thank you.
SOLVED: Samsung Galaxy S5 Reboot Loop
I figured out a workaround and I take full credit because this creative solution was no where to be found on the internet nor did AT&T, Samsung or Best Buy offer any other alternatives aside from wiping the device. This is what I did:
I booted back into Recovery mode and looked through the logs for any indication of what was happening. My assumption was that it was a driver error and so scrolling through the logs I saw an error that said something like fail psy battery. I immediately think maybe its the drivers for power so I thought I'd see how it would respond if I put it in Ultra Power save mode. Thankfully the phone stayed on just long enough for me to put it ultra power save which did work. The phone stopped the reboot cycle it was stuck in but I still was not able to back anything up since the Ultra power save disabled the USB drivers and port. I let it charge up overnight in ultra power save and said I would try regular power save mode in the morning to see if that would also work but this time allow me mass storage access. Well, that worked! I put it in power save and I am backing everything up now as I type. I've got all my pics and now just letting samsung switch do its thing to perform full backup. YAY! I WIN! Hopefully this helps someone else that may have this problem and have tried everything else that is recommended for solving this issue.

Don't really get it, what cause the boot loop in the first place? And you are flashing back to which rom?
I don't know what caused. I wasn't using the phone when it started. I hadn't downloaded any new apps and I wasn't messing around with the OS or system files. The phone battery died at 15%. I plugged in the charger and disconnected when it was at about 28%. I powered the phone on and there were a number of text messages coming through from my friend I was going to lunch with. I opened that message and noticed the text was duplicating itself then it rebooted. Each time I powered it up and got in for a bit that same text was coming through or trying to over and over again. So, I don't know what caused it but I have all of my data backed up and I am going to wipe it now.
Also, the Best Buy tech flashed the ROM so I am not sure which version or anything like that.

which os phone on ? lop or MM ?
Hi everybody,
So I have a S7 Edge that I buyed in Spain in December 2016, so it has a year and a half by now.
The phone have the Gorilla Glass a bit broken but the display is perfect aswell as the touch, the back is also broken, main issue there was a corner fall but, this either started nor agraviated the issue in hand, it was no difference between before and after that situation.
The phone was submerged in water, less than a meter for less than 5 minutes, again I dont remember that this issue started nor agraviated the issue.
Now the issue I'm not sure when it started but it was this year for sure, maybe 2 to 3 months ago.
As far as I remember the issue started after a Samsung update, a large update like 1 Gb, the phone restarted to install the Update and during the Update it froze while installing the update in the boot and started heating up I wasnt able to do a thing I wasnt able to either restart it nor shutdown it, so I just waited until the batery run out wich it wasnt much time since it was heating up a lot.
After it shutdown I charged it and then started, it was able to update but from that point I didnt want to either shutdown nor update the phone again being afraid of the phone dying, so some day the phone forced another update, and I encountered the same issue, after that once in a while the phone restarted.
From that point I dont actually remember how it happens if I had some issues but one day the phone restarted and entered a boot loop restarting the phone after a second or two of the Samsung ROM splash, so I tried to shut it down and wasnt able to do so, at some point it "shutdown" but with a red led on and I wasnt able to start it, after 3 to 4 days the light went off (batery run out) and then I charged the phone again but wasnt able to boot up, after a few restart it boot up but then restarted and loop again.
After a few tries I was able to Factory Reset the phone and the phone started functioning kinda alright, I installed an app and while using it the phone restarted so I uninstalled the app, after that the phone didnt shutdown, so I used the phone for some days and never shut it down nor let the batery run out, till one day I updated the apps from the Play Store while updating the apps the phone shutdown again, boot loop and subsecuently shutdown with a blue led this time and not being able to start the phone again, so I waited like before, but for some reason the blue light stayed for like 2 weeks, I guess the phone has a lot of charge and the only thing using the batery was the led I dont know.
After all this I decided that the problem was a Software problem since all the main issues apeared while updating apps, updating the system, using apps, etc, so because I didnt have guaranty I decided to install TWRP and then some custom ROM, so I do it so, I installed TWRP, booted into TWRP, backup EFS, wipe dalvik, cache, data and system, in this process the phone rebooted, boot loop and then again blue led and not being able to start the phone, so I was tired by now and I opened the backpanel breaking quite a bit one side didnt care if I fix this I will change the back and front glass, I detached the batery and the phone shutdown then I was able to start it, boot into recovery TWRP and installed HavocOS this time (I will try with another one just in case), I installed it run it and it appears to be working fine... it rebooted one time and after that nothing I installed Whatsapp a 2.3 gb backup started to download alongside 34 apps from the PlayStore I guess the apps that I had in the previous installation.
While downloading the 34 apps the phone restarted I guess while installing Facebook, after that it shutdowns again after apparently working just fine for an hour or so.
So I decided to install again HavocOS but dont instal any APP but Whatsapp, maps and some other things I need (Keepass, Bank stuff, etc) but from here on the phone started to reboot even in TWRP, while installing the ROM sometimes it freezes sometimes it shutdown sometimes it rebooted and antered boot loop but at least it didnt get stuck anymore I was always able to shutdown and start the phone but with boot loops and shutdowns and totally impossible to use.
So now I'm almost totally sure that it is not a Software (free fix) problem, and now I'm thinking in replacing the batery, the batery is not very expensive (compared to a now phone ofc) but it is a bit expensive for my economy and I'm not totally sure that the batery is the problem, can somebody, with all the information given here tell me something like "I'm at least 90% sure that the problem is the batery"?, cause, I'm a PC Technician that didnt know much about phone but they are practically the same as a PC but less modular and sincerilly I think that it might be the Processor or the Internal Storage, both non-easy-removable and change and both more expensive than a batery and both things that I have to buy outside of my country that may or may not come in 1 to 3 months so, is it really worth buying a batery or this issues point to a direction that the phone is almost imposible to fix with the money I have so its better to save money and buy a new one... thing is in this effing country a new S9 for example cost 1000 u$s and my salary is 600 u$s so its a bit anoying to save for something like that, even a new S7 Edge is worth 600 u$s here, and thats what I paid in Spain one and a half year ago when it was the latest Samsung phone available.
Sorry for the long post I wanted to explain everything throughly and I hope my english is ok.
Best regards.
