I have the htc hd2 leo 1.o6 (what ever the 1.o6 means) I have a bad flex board
now there is replacements out there, but everyone I find says HTC HD II HD2 on them, what is the difference?. and why is there two models of this phone, a 1st generation and a second generation?. and further more .. my HD2 does not have the Tmobile logo on it.. but HTC says it is a Tmobile phone? anyone else with thoughts?
anyone with parts to sell or offer? I need a rigid flex board and I'm so confused. and HTC is not helping much
You have two of the same. The 1.66 is the rom version and not part of the name.
The "hdii hd2" is just the seller covering multiple search strings.
Only tmobile USA is different (tmous,,, t mo us) all other t mobile from every other countries are normal hd2.
You have two regular hd2's
so the part flex board is the same for both?
Should be, yes. I've certainly only seen two versions, tmous and everyone else.

hi, this is actually mi first post here, but i am a little confuse. i have a t-mobile US hd2 and i'm looking for some accessories on ebay but some of them say that are for the t8585 but not compatible for the t-mobile us hd2. is there a real difference between them? i might think some software can be difference but are they different is size?
is this for real?
The international HD2 and the TMOUS versions are different and depending on the accessory, may not be compatible. It has to do with the shape of the phone. So cases, vehicle mounts, etc. might not work. I have purchased several items for my TMOUS HD2 that i had to modify in order to make it fit. Again, depending on the item it may be impossible to make it fit right. If the seller says it's not compatable with US version, I would take their word for it.
So to answer your question simply: Yes. This is for real.
Thanks Faelok,
i almost buy a car mount even seeing it says not for US HD2, i guess i have to read all the info when buying accessories for it thanks again
That is the difference

There is a size difference between the U.S. and the International versions. The U.S. version is larger and the phone jack is a bit different. The send key is green and the end key is red on the U.S. version. The keys on the International version are all white. The internal flash memory is 1024mb and the ram is 576mb on the U.S. version, while on the International version they are 512mb and 512 mb. The roms and radios are NOT interchangable between the two, but apps and themes generally are.
thanks freeincolorado
the size difference is fairly small (1.5mm), but it's enough to keep cases from fitting or aligning properly (like the camera lens and bottom ports, etc). From what I've seen, even the battery cover on the back is slightly different between the two, just fyi (US version has a small foam insert, T8585 version doesn't for some reason)
I got a digitizer off eBay t8585 they said it was for tmobile but when i got it it was the soder on one.
wall taking my hd2 apart I damaged the lcd ribincable.
IF i get a international lcd with the solder on connection for the international digitizer will it work with the tmobile hd2.
I put my two digitizers together to see if there is a size difference. I cant see one so maybe if I use both international lcd and digitizer together it will work in the tmobile version?
Ok, I'm guessing Leo and Tmobile HD2's are built the same?
I'm looking to buy a case that accommodates the extendeded battery. Came across this site that details a fit for the "T8585". Is that the Leo version or USA? Or are they one in the same?
Link.

Thanks.
The T8585 is a european leo. From my understanding the TMOUS ones are very slightly longer but i could be wrong on that. The actual battery covers are identical afaik but i would email the supplier and ask them if it is suitable. If they have their wits about them i would suspect they know.
TmoUSA has a longer screen to accommodate the logo. How much longer? like 1mm (?)...hardly noticeable.
Hi everyone,
as you see from my profile I'm an italian guy. I recently came to USA to visit my girlfriend and I found on the Marketplace an T-Mobile HD2 for very cheap which definitively is in very bad conditions planning to fix it completely and making it a new phone.
So I found a new housing here which I guess would be for a T8585.
I heard T-Mobile model has a 2mm difference somewhere... so would that be a problem?
Cnn.cn has two different housings for the T8585 and the T-Mobile version... so.. I wouldn't want to pay three times the price! Do you know any better place to find it for cheaper?
Also... do you know if the digitizer is melted with the screen or if it is splitted from that?
I also heard there are two different digitizer connectors from the T8585 and the T-Mobile version... is the T-Mobile version the one which requires soldering :S?
I need to replace my Rigid Flex Board in my HD2 due to a mishap and was wondering if there is a difference between the boards in the European and the T-Mobile versions of the phone. I need one for my T-Mobile HD2 and I dont see them being sold, all I see is just one version of the thing so I'm assuming they're all the same, but I just wanted to be on the safe side.

I too am curious, if anyone can chime in on this.
Turns out they are pretty much identical on every version of the HD2 aside from the model numbers on the flex board. So I'm going to just order one and see how it goes. I will update the forums on my progress.
