Are you joking? The Gingerbread update will not have 2.1.1.A as the firmware version. We already know that it will be 3.0....

that's the thing, too many people not recognizing the difference between "knowing" and "assuming" as well as "truth" and "rumor".
they "assume" it will be 3.0 because the Arc and Play's roms are 3.0. so they assume that SE's rom designation for 2.3 is 3.0.
but what they don't realize is that 3.0 could also be the designation for that particular generation of devices. or designation for hardware configuration. could be anything really.
no one really knows for sure, but they'd rather get upset and pull hair out of assumptions and rumors.
assumption is the mother of all f ups.

I haven't seen it in that movie... So show it me !
So what does this mean when its on ptcrb.com?
Can we get the ROM from somewhere else then from SEUS?
I don`t think being listed on this site automatically means
that the roll-out is near.
It can also stay there for some time ..... maybe for 2 months or so?

ptcrb just tracks firmwares that have been approved for release.
i doubt that this will be the 2.3 update, it is most likely an incremental regional update.

Hmmm, I am starting to wonder about you. I know you have a language barrier, but come on.
Besides, didn't you read sony product blog yesterday? It's delayed until August.
Why delayed? Its still coming like SE said Q2/Q3 they said end of 2 or beginning of 3 and August is still beginning of Q3

Because Playgunta believed the rumors spread that the update was coming June 20.
However, you are correct. It's still beginning of Q3 until mid August.
@OP, Basebands are not technically "released" by SE. They release new firmwares which contain the baseband.

It's right the 20 June rumour. Firmware got registered, but actually after some thinking... You guys saw how laggy the x10 was in that movie? On that blog they talked about ''optimizing''. I think they delayed the firmware to optimise it. (Actually not delayed, but some kind of release date dont know how ya call it ) I never said the update would come on June 20, so where have you got that from. I only kept the hope of it coming then in my head And firmware is not delayed like everyone says, but they put a release datum now. They never told us a release datum. The release of it is around August = Q3.

The X10 will reach its end-of-life with AT&T on 3/6/11. Android Central has an article on this information.
With that news, I find it hard to believe that AT&T will release any X10 updates from Sony Ericsson. They'll probably just keep its users on 1.6 and be done with it.
XDA is the only hope for U.S. X10 owners!

Well AT&T sucks more than SE. Not sure why they are delaying the 2.1 update for the handsets. Thank god I flashed the x10a world generic from here!
LoL they totally fked over x10 in america. But don't worry.. rogers isn't doing much better. Except how they managed to get us 2.1. Which none of us even use.
I'm kind of suffering this issue I'm with Claro. Guatemala and they will never release even 2.1 update.. If I had stick with them I'll be in 1.6 forever.... They aren't gonna release 2.1 .... That's why I love Xda ....!!!! Because of the updates ...

If you like xda updates, then why don't you stop waiting on your lousy service provider and update yourself to 2.1 here on xda? The great part is once you update your phone, you won't have to worry about your cell phone company blocking you from future Xperia X10 updates anymore.
It is easy and safe to do. Just click on the link below, and follow the steps for X10i_2_0_A_0_504_GLOBAL (this version is rootable, if you decide to do so in the future)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=683793
Make sure you use Backup and Restore to backup your system and contacts to your sdcard before you start, and then restore your data when start up your 2.1 updated X10.

I completely agree, man. I'm using AT&T, and I'm in the exact same situation as you are!! Even worse still, AT&T block users from installing apps not downloaded directly from the official market, giving us even more reason to ditch their crappy branded firmware and flash with global/world firmware.
It seems to me like these two companies should never have teamed up...they both seem to hate their customers more than any company I've ever seen in my life!!!
I dont think AT&T is cutting the X10 just yet. Its too soon.
I don't really mind if AT&T does axe the X10. I've debranded and rooted my X10, effectively removing myself from under AT&T's thumb. I think Android is going to get more love in the very near future though. If the Verizon iPhone is indeed announced on Jan 11, AT&T will experience such a mass exodus that they'll have to change their strategy. The loss of iPhone exclusivity will force AT&T to provide at least a semblance of support for its remaining customers. It would have to release the Arc and other Gingerbread phones to survive.

Actually not true, it has been held back and 2.4 will be GB. They are adding in dual core support before they release it, well official carrier release that is.
No. That's simply not true.
2.3 is still being developed. In fact, an update from 2.3.2 to 2.3.3 was just released today. Today. Today!!!!
All of this speculation is based on one alleged Viewsonic leak that was probably far from accurate.
2.3 is Gingerbread. It is still being developed. Carriers are working on 2.3 updates as we speak. There is NO evidence otherwise.

Yes it was updated today for the Nexus s, the ONLY phone running an official 2.3 OS.
The speculation has been verified by several credible news outlets that google has indeed created a new branch of GB GRI17 which will be 2.4 GB which is the version that will be released to carriers. They have also verified that this will push back the release of GB to phones running froyo, since there is only 1 phone running 2.3. But dont let facts get in the way of it being incorrect though.

Certified build doesn't always mean that it's going to be released.

No ROM is going to be absolutely perfect, anything is better than nothing in my book.
No one is obliged to go from 4.2.2 to 4.3, can always wait for 4.4.
Wait and see how it pans out, if there's a major issue it'll be patched no doubt.
and those bugs also are minor ...just graphic glitch so far .. atleast for me .. the leak is near perfect
stop cribbing

Sony have no obligation to release anything to you but they do anyway, lately it seems to be a need to complain about the Devs at Sony delivering what they said they'd do.
No one is obliged to go from 4.2.2 to 4.3, can always wait for 4.4. Software isn't an easy thing to do perfectly anyone who's worked on software will say the same, bugs, exploits, hacks and issues can come from anywhere.

Oh, don't make me laugh... that is why i specified "Obvious bugs" in my post. We all know there are no perfect software, but COME ON, people in the leak thread couldn't believe this firmware to be final because there are obvious and stupid bugs, which are typical in beta versions, but not in fina releases, i was not talking about exploits, hacks or such things, i am talking about where objects overlaps texts, new Sony apps that forcecloses, or obvious things like that, what kind of testing did Sony programmers do?
I have been working on software for more than 12 years, i know what i am talking about, and i would be embarased of myself if i ever release something that makes people think my software cannot be a release version. Also if i put a release date, i try to deliver the best possible, not rush and release a beta just to make people shut up.
And yes, Sony has the obligation to release this, as they compromised themselves and nobody forced them.
Anyway i am not saying this firmware is bad, it is smooth and the bugs are cosmetic or in non mandatory apps, i am just saying it smells like "rushed", and that you are too conformist in a world where being critycal with companies benefits us all.
At the end of the day, up until the day they push it to carriers they'll be patching it and fixing the obvious problems, software bring up as you know is a nightmare, the "leaked" version was a leaked version, it was never intended as a final firmware. Wait and see what come out the leaked 10.4.B.0.569 will not be the same as released 10.4.B.0.569.

Sorry, but that never happened, everytime they fix or add something, they also change the build number. That is the purpose of those numbers, to identify one firmware from another one. And the fact that is has been certified on PTCRB means they are not touching it anymore and are ready to release.

Wait and see is all I'm saying, tired of the constant complaining about firmware, being on O2 UK we get it as one of the last, but by that point you know what to expect. Whatever we get is whatever we get.

Well, if they finally release 10.4.B.0.569, it will be exactly the same as the leaked one, that is 100% for sure. But it may happen that they have a newer version ready and they might release it instead of .569. That happened sometimes on other Sony smartphones firmware releases.
Man, flash some generic TFT
What bugs????
Been running this for 48hrs, not one single issue I've noticed.

I'm strangely finding the leaked version smoother and better than .67, best Wifi reception ever and love the new Ui. Like I said, not one single Fc or issue yet. I'm sure the installer glitch may bother some people visually, but I don't care as long as it works. And it does. Didn't even wipe. Go figure:thumbup:

maybe this 569 has no graphics bug like the early 569 because the early .569 is a prototype well its just IMO
I've been finding a bunch of posts regarding when the Razr HD will be getting KitKat. We have been waiting a while, so I figured I'd make a tracking thread so everyone can know when KitKat is finally released.
The last piece of information we have really gotten came from David Schuster, senior director at Motorola Mobility in Illinois.
This post alone sparked a great many Android articles... Needlessly so, IMO
One G+ post fed:
Android Central
Into Mobile
Softpedia
Phone Arena
DroidLife
Seems I'm not the only one starving for some news.
me too I'd like to know when we'll receive kitkat...a question, i'm from Italy but i purchased my razr hd in Uk.
My version is 98.21.22003.xt925.CEE-Retail.en.EU..Will I receive the upgrade as well or the release is only for Verizon users?
David Schuster did say a couple of days ago that the "M and HD are in Verizon labs currently". And that "Labs" can take anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks.
It's in the same Google+ post linked in the OP. It's toward the bottom of the comments.

It still isn't clear weather a completed version is in their labs for testing and approval OR Moto's version was submitted to them for them to add bloat, test, fix, test, add more bloat, test, etc. I think once Verizon puts out a soak with their junk on it, then we may be getting truly close.
* This is only my interpretation on how this process is working and may be wrong.

Typically "labs" is the end of the line, unless there's a problem with the Software / Hardware on Verizon's Network.
Definitely coming this month.

Update announcemement?
MAYBE this is NOT related, but Motorola have scheduled an event on 13th may, the update may be announced then...
It's just a guess.

Sounds more hardware than software related. I doubt they'd hold an event (or waste time at one) to announce a software update for phones released back in '12. They didn't for the newer, more relevant phones, and with no other company calling an event to announce "we've released KK for you on XYZ phone" it would come off as very pompous.
...am curious to see what their next model phone is though...
So possibly the firmware will be released before the new phone comes out?

Everything is speculative with no real concrete evidence to back anything up. We know that it's likely to come out this month, but even that is not 100% certain.
