I have had this rom for about a month. The ROM thread states that the chevron unlock is not need and I have not any problems with side loading apps, using them, and syncing with zune. All of a sudden today none of my side loaded apps are working, I can't side load apps, and they are saying Microsoft revoked. I understand we used to just unlock it again and all is well, but why did it lock in the first place if the ROM included the unlocked keys?

I have the focus in USA w att. I followed all instructions and was able to get the nodo update, yay.however i can't side load apps. When i launch samsung tools it said to uninstall. It seems to relocked. Prior to installing nodo, I did use Samsung tools and checked prevent relock. I noticed after reseting it relock was unchecked.however noticed it was still unlocked hence the nodo update. I tried to run chevron again no luck. I guess I have to start all over again? Is anyone experiencing relock issues after nodo? Can someone help out bc I did use Samsung tools to try to prevent it from unlocking. Thanks in advance.
Chris
I'm stuck in the same boat. At some point after installing Nodo it relocked and now I'm stuck without being able to sideload. I guess that was the inherent risk of doing this update, anyway.
Did you guys use SamsungTools to prevent re-locking before updating?
I luckily have a dev account so I haven't tried to sideload since updating, but I can always unlock it again anyway.
If I recall (based on previous conversations that the guy who put out Chevron officially stated) Microsoft has closed the loop on the tool and essentially "fixed" the hole in the system. As Nodo rolls we're all kind back to step one... now that the guy that did Chevron has kind of stepped away from supporting it we'll need some smart people to put together a Chevron v2...
Suddenly my Xap's dont work and my phone tells me to deinstall them.
I cant even unlock the phone again with chevron......
can someone help me?
chevron acts up sometimes..best is to flash a newer wp7 rom that is already unlocked and does not need chevron
what you are having is that your phone got locked again (you probably tried to update with zune..it checks and locks your phone) .....with chevron you need to keep trying again to unlock..run zune in background, let it complete sync..then try with antivirus and firewall off..remember that your phone gets locked again if you try "update" in zune.
try the steps from this thread

It was the skype thing. thx dont know why i didnt thnik of this.
but to read it again step by step i get it on my own.
but i didnt update. i had a restart problem last day and it was caused by my sim card. i think trying to start the phone without sd and sim caused the new lock.
I've tried several roms, trying the XBMOD one now (which seems to have no clue as well) and for the life of me this thing is always locked.
When a rom states it has the unlock cooked in, what does that mean? I tried xbmod coming from android (task 29, magldr 1.13, flash, boot with volume up and down, down down twice.) and yet when I go to use the xap installer, I get the "make sure your phone is unlocked message". Since then, I've tried everything, even reinstalling windows on my other drive, then starting the whole process again, and same thing. Phone is still locked (even though this rom, and others I've tried state it comes unlocked). Is there some bug, or error, or did an update with zune maybe stop this? I've had no luck with any guides to unlocking, and tried several different registry edits, host edits, chevrons, certs, etc. And always get the dreaded uh oh message.
I guess I'm really asking, does cooked in unlock really mean it's unlocked? I mean, I've been flashing android forever and never had a problem like this. Most roms that state they are pre rooted, are in fact pre rooted, and don't require anything to work, yet any wp7 rom that states it's unlocked, isn't (at least for me) is it my system (remember, I've tried this with a clean win 7 install as well as my previous, all to no avail)?
Rooted and unlocked are two very different things, at least in the WP7 sense.
To be unlocked means you have access to install apps via sideloading
Rooted means you have unrestricted access to the file system
Most ROMs that are not original DFT ROMS are unlocked, these do not need to be re-unlocked, you do not need to use chevron, Zune needs to be installed and connected, the device must be connected to zune, you can try using the application deployment program but run it with admin rights
on the phone make sure the device ISNT pin locked, or on any other screen other than the tiles screen. you should be able to sync music to the phone if you cant then somthing else is wrong.
try all that an get back to us.
It looks like the T-Mobile v20 is carrier unlocked via the Device Unlock app. That assumes the phone is eligible for an unlock, which mine is. The problem is that I'm running a custom ROM, and the Device Unlock app doesn't appear to work on anything other than a stock load. That's even running Magisk and confirming that everything is "hidden". I base this assumption only on some stuff I found while searching the forums.
So the obvious solution is to flash back to stock. If that's the only way to do it, fine. It's a pain but I'll do it. Does anyone know if there is an alternative bit of trickery so that it can be done on custom ROMs?
It's not so much the backup/wipe/load/unlock/wipe/restore process I'm trying to avoid. I do that all the time when I want to play with other ROMs. It's the bootloader/recowvery stuff, and plus it looks like the stock image isn't just a standard zip.
I appreciate any input, even if it's just to confirm I have to go back to stock.
as far as I know the bootloader has to be locked for the app to work... I'm always on stock and despite removing root the app would just keep trying to contact the server. it wasn't until I locked the bootloader that the app went through and contacted the server
I used the original zui11.5 rom only because of the "position travel" app (I must be the only person in the world who used this, but had a reason) and to receive updates from the manufacturer. but I saw that the custom roms were well evolved and I decided to test
after unlocking the bootloader the android bootloader it brick and didn't start anymore, still managed to install twrp, however whenever i install a new rom, at the end of the process i need to mount the folders manually before restarting (so far without problems).
however when I try to enter a security password the following message appears: "screen lock was already changed try again with the new screen lock"
I've done everything including installing the original rom 11.5.381 by twrp but I still can't put the password
with the bootloader unlocked qpst also does not install any rom
I thought of installing some version of zui with android 9 to try to solve, but I didn't find any that install by twrp
has anyone had this problem and knows how to fix it?
Has anyone been able to figure out a way to use the screen lock again? I've been using no screen lock all this time, and now it's starting to affect me as some banking apps force me to use some screen lock
I currently use rom bliss but I can change it to whatever the blocking works
