had this not so great idea last night that I would flash my nand android ROM for my HTC HD2 on Tmobile UK, by formatting the SD card then reinstalling CWD and flashing the ROM...
Unfortunately my fone will not switch on, I can get it into bootloader but do not know what to do from here...
any ideas?
I think I need to reinstall magdlr 1.3, then clockwork mod then my nand android rom, can anyone confirm this is right?
please help
ta
whilst I can get into bootloader and it says USB , my PC will not let me access the SD card, nothing happens at all like when the Open folder pop up appears, well it doesnt....
what have I done??
Is the HSPL 3 already installed on the phone?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6891358&postcount=1893
You need to take your sd card out of your phone and use a card reader. There is a problem with Magdlr usb so that would be the only way to copy things to and from the sd card.
I would do a task29, reinstall magldr, clockwork and then go into clockwork and install.
Hope this helps.
bodyman
I have HPSL 2.08 do I need HPSL 3.0??
Sure I have a card reader
But its erm, well formatted now to FAT32...
Whats task29??
How can I reinstall MAGDLR when the phone will only go into bootloader but my PC will not open the sd folder?
thanks

quick seaches found this:
Task29
and you need to be in the bootloader to install magldr -- you use RUU to install that. Then once into madldr, then you can install clockwork -- that uses DAF.
Also, you should upgrade to 3.0.
Hope this helps
Please go read some n00b guides, everything you asked about here is VERY cleary documented, There is absolutley no need at all for this type of topic.
Not trying to be an arse but its just really annoying seeing the forums flooded with these types of topics daily and its because people dont follow simple logic and look at stickies or guide topics prior to jumping in.
trouble is when I connect my phone via usb to PC in order to update to HARDSPL3 nothing happens...
Its like my phone just will not sync with my pc
Even if I get the phone to bootloader mode, where it first says serial, when I connect the fone it does say USB but nothing else happens...
Where are these guides? why are they so hidden...
I dont know if my fone is bricked...please help
If I where you, I would start from scatch.
Go to bootloader when it says USB flash stock WM6.5
Flash HSPL 2.08
Flash MAGLDR
and so and so...
Same problem here with my boys phone. Only thing is, I can't flash anything and wmdc won't recognize the hd2. I feel like an ars lol. Just go buy an android phone and leave winmo in the dust ;-P You might enjoy unloading on it with an ar15 though muahaha

Try using different UBS port or UBS cord and make sure when in bootload your pc show a driver connecting with it or it won't work. And if your on window Vista or 7 try right clicking and run as admin
Also do not have your SD card in while doing this

heres an update:
I installed HARDSPL 3.0
The phone then restarted and is working however I now need to install TASK29
But from lets call it my nand ROM main screen one it has loaded, when I connect attach a USB cable the phone will not sync will windows mobile device centre so I unable to perform TASK29
How can I get around this?
Its great the phone is working again however all I am confident after I manage to run TASK29 it will be clean so that I can install another NAND rom on to it...
Just desperately need my pc OS windows 7 to now recognise my phone so TASK 29 will work, but how?
thanks guys for your help
the plot thickens....
I went into booloader and it still shows SPL2.08 when I downloaded and installed HARDSPL3??? This is the filename I downloaded and installed HSPL3_PKG
Also after removing SD card, the phone boots into MAGDLR v1.13 and then keeps looping into reboot...
On a different note, this time when I phone switched on with USB attached but without SD CARD, my pc OS windows 7 installed a driver and it sees it but now I cannot get into the main ROM screen to run TASK29....
Gonna put the SD Card back in and hope it gets me there that way..will report back in 2 mins..
thanks for your help
so i reinstalled magldr 1.13 and clockworkmod but now when I am in magldr and go to boot ad sd I get the following error message:
load zImage
k: zimage
SD KERNAL OPEN FAILED
it cannot find clockwork mod is that right?
where do i go from here?
thanks for your help
all fixed thanks for your input especially connecting to usb ports this one thing helped me resolve everything
there should be a sticky will all info easily accessible what to do when this happens..
thanks
p.s. if anyone can tell me why my bootloader still shows hardspl 2.08 when I upgraded to 3.0 i would be grateful
thanks guys

3.0 is just an update to 2.08 that works for the newer hd2's
also, task29 will format your NAND -- it is like the ultimate hard reset. I use it when I switch from different roms. That way there is no residuals left over from any previous roms that may or may not cause problems.
check here for any ?'s that you might have. All stickies have been rolled up into one thread.
Well i noticed that task29 doesn't wipe everyhing. I had issues with various rome for a while, I tried task29 many times with no success, the only thing that solved theme where flashing stock 6.5...
And don't go to spl3 or you won't be able to flash magldr, stay on 2.08

Is this a joke? i mean, the stickies are there, you only need to read them and follow the steps you have tutorials and howtos in task29 thread, then in the hardspl thread and in the hd2 sections (sd,nand).
anyway, i am glad, you worked it out
It is said that you have to hold the power button to load MAGLDR after resetting the phone, but when I reset the phone it automatically boots to MAGLDR, instead of WM 6.5. Can you guys tell me how to access WM 6.5 from MAGLDR?
I forgot to mention that I always get this message before it boots to MAGLDR after resetting.
Rebooting Android from SD
Android loads at 11000000
From MicroSD
Load zIMAGE
K:\ zIMAGE
SD Kernal Open Failed.
Should I be concerned?
I haven't installed Android yet, but I'm in the process of installing Clockwork 1.3
I also tried to do a factory reset through MAGLDR, but it only goes back to the MAGLDR main screen. Help? Please?
First of all, use the "edit post" button to add text to the first post instead of making two new
Yesterday I got the exact same problem. Someone said that it is because the MAGLDR can't see the wrongly flashed ROM. However, I did not notice that it is something wrong with it.
What ROM do you have and which HSPL version ?
I had WinMo 1.46 stock and HSPL 2.08
my apologies.
stock? i'm using Radio 2.15 HSPL 2.08
did you correct your problem?
would it be safe to manually hard reset?
You can't boot Windows Mobile 6.5 if you have MAGLDR installed. But there is simply way back - just run RUU with stock 1.48 ROM on your PC, while having your HD2 connected to PC (phone has to be in bootloader, that rainbow screen).
I didn't correct my problem. I had to flash WinMo back from the SD card but the raven_raven's method is also possible.
So raven, why I can't boot into WinMo with MAGLDR? I've seen many people doing that by not keeping the power button pressed
From what I know, it's impossible to boot into WM6.5 if you have MAGLDR on your device. Its purpose is to load Linux kernel, not WM .
I'm kinda confused right now
If you flashed MAGLDR, why would you want to use WinMo? The main purpose of MAGLDR is to boot Android/WP7 on the NAND. It over-writes the WinMo you had on it before.
The error you're getting, you shouldn't be worried about it at all. All it is is that you haven't flashed a ROM yet. What do you mean you're in the process of flashing Clockwork? It's not hard... just flash the DFT file on your PC via the USB Flasher option and you'll have Clockwork. Then you install your .zip ROM, reboot and you won't get an error anymore as you'll have a ROM flashed.
Thanks for the help. It is greatly appreciated.
I can't access the USB Flasher. When I connect my phone to my PC, my SD card doesn't show up, instead, its recognized as an "unspecified" MAGLDR driver. I can't do anything with that.
But I can access my SD card through USB Mass Storage, but I don't want to install DFT on Mass Storage when I'm told to use USB Flasher. I don't want to do anything stupid

the usb flasher option is not to mount your sd card, it is just used to flash files/roms via daf.exe. use the usb flasher to install clockworkmod1.3, once that is done boot back into magldr and go to ad recovery, and recovery should start. from there you can mount as usb mass storage. i belive the one in magldr doesn't work very well, or at all for some, the one in clockwork always seems to work well for me.
guys its simple your not supposed to use MAGLDR if your going ot go back WM6.5.
tunr your phone off. hold the volume down button and press the power button, do not let go of the volume button, its going to bring you a tri colored screen. once your in that screen plug in your USB cable to the phone and to your computer. once that is doen flash a official WM6.5 rom let it do what it does, its going to restart and there you go back on WM6.5
there is no way you can boot Win 6.5 if you got MAGLDR, never seen it here
(unless someone shows a video or something)
the only way that can be achieved is to go into bootloader (tricolor screen)
and flash Win 6.5
I thought MAGLDR was for dualbooting. I wanted to go back to 6.5 in case I ran into any problems with the android builds Nontheless, I successfully installed Cyanogenmod, and it works perfectly. I dont think i'll be going back to 6.5.
Thanks for the help, it was greatly appreciated.
Hold volume down and power button when turning the phone on, it will get you into tree color screen...then plug your phone into pc .....on the of run rom installer for win 6.5 and after it is done you should be able to boot into win 6.5.

Hi guys!
I have the same problem.
my question is if I the official ROM is it going to erase/format the old one that I had?
The reason is that I did not backup everything and it would be nice if I could go back and get the rest of my contacts...
Is there any way of having a dual boot
BEWARE: complete noob!!!

Are you honestly incapable of reading? What kind of complete MORON flashes something to their phone without a full knowledge of exactly what it will do?! If you install WinMo again you will have lost all of your data that is on the internal storage of your phone, and to be honest you deserve it if you are stupid enough to flash something without reading about what it does.
On a more positive note, you can flash NAND Android instead of reflashing WinMo if you want, using this guide. Since you would go ahead and flash this without reading up about it, I should probably warn you that IT WILL DELETE WINMO FROM YOUR PHONE! Is that clear enough for you?

Sent from my HTC HD2
So i'm pretty new to the HD2, but have flashed various ROMS etc in the past. A friend gave me his HD2 to flash Android onto, and I'm having a few problems with it.
Basically, After trying to install the MAGLDR, the phone will not boot at all. It loads up, and just sticks at the "HTC" screen. I can get into the "tri-colour" boot loader screen by doing Vol-down at startup, but whenever I try to run MAGLDR again the status bar on both the PC and the phone stay at 0%, then it errors out :\.
Any ideas how I can get this back to working? Thanks guys.
Is the phone switching to USB from SERIAL when plugged in at the SPL? Put the ROM on a SDCARD and rename it to LEOIMG.nbh then enter the SPL, it will see the ROM and allow you to flash via SDCARD. You may have a dead usb port on your hands if it's not switching to USB. Also try multiple ports on the computer and multiple computers to confirm this switch.

Thanks for the speedy reply!
It is switching to USB when plugged in, which is good o guess. When I try to use RUU or task29, it sits at 0% for a while then goes to "Error 262". When the phone switches on (NOT into bootloader) it just sits at the "HTC" screen, and I notice the R, G, D lines are not shown at the bottom of the screen like they used to be.
I don't have an SD with me at the minute, which ROM exactly would I need to place on there?
thanks again
First enter bootloader, if spl doesn't say 2.08.hspl then magldr wont start.
Radio. radio must be a ..50.. of 2.07.50.x or higher or magldr wont start.
Hanging at 0% is either no hspl, or USB error. USB ports in front of PC generally wont work, USB hubs wont work either, ,only use USB ports around back of the PC.

Guys, thanks so much. I got her to boot into MAGLDR and I *think* I got Clockwork Mod Recovery installed. I can now boot to the MAGLDR screen.
As I don't have the SD card from the phone (or any other SD at the moment), can anyone suggest a stable gingerbread ROM I can flash via USB Flasher? (ie it will need to come with the installer exe bundled right?). I'd prefer stock Android over a Sense ROM if possible, but I'll take whatever I can get
Thanks again!!
I have searched and searched and cant find a reason why this isnt working. I have a new hd2 with hspl and magldr 1.13. I have windows mobile device center on my pc. I have downloaded a partition to flash so I can install a rom, but the usb flasher option gets stuck on Wait USB... This is not my first hd2, and i recall having this problem before. Can someone please point me in the right direction? When I put the phone in bootloader and plug it in, my comp. recognizes the phone but not in magldr.
Edit: I have an old hd2 (touchscreen doesnt work), and tried the USB Flasher and had the same problem.

what hardspl do u have........i have 2.08,don't use the latest 3.0.3,magldr doesn't like it lol
I've already look through the other threads of users with the same issue, but none seem to have exactly the answer I'm looking for.
I was running windows phone 7 on my htc hd2, which was easy enough to do.
but yesterday I decided I wanted to put android back onto it, so I downloaded
Energy_2.8.2012.SensationXL from here. Followed all the steps in the thread, but now everytime I turn on the phone I get the error "NAND yaffs2 boot mount failed" and then just clicks straight over to the boot menu
so, as stated in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=971268 I tried to "task29" the phone through the HD2 Toolkit app, and start again.
But all I get when trying to: task 29, update to/ install magldr 1.13 or clockwork, it just gives me an error [264] connection.
I'm unable to get onto the tri-coloured usb flashing screen that I used when I put WP7 on it, i've tried putting it in 'usb flasher' mode from the menu to no avail..
is there somehow a way to put the new ROM I downloaded ^^^^ onto the phone by switching it over to mass storage mode,
and then selectiong option 3: boot AD NAND?
how about return to WM,then try task29 and MAG or CLK

I've always done the task29 and wiped it via HD2 Toolkit, but it's still stuck on the magldr boot menu
does the USB flasher option be the same at the bootloader (three-coloured screen) for flashing the new android rom?
If I simply loaded the android rom onto the SD card via an adapter, would that work if I went through the MAGLDR boot menu?
EG: 9: services, 1: boot settings, 1: boot source, 1: android from sd
..yes?
I'm at my wits end here guys!
I'm well aware of how to get into the three coloured bootloader screen, but the HD2 just wont do it!
I've done it numerous times before with this very handset from WM 6.5, then android (can't remember what version) , then WP7, and now it's decided to stop doing it when I want to go back to android, and the task29 has wiped it all, so I can't even simply revert back to WM6.5..
if someone could give me some step-by-step instructions on either a nand or SD android rom and the steps I need to take to get it working with that, bearing in mind the 'stuck on magldr' issue I have.
I can't remember if I stated it in my previous post but ever since I did the task 29, anything I try to do ie: update magldr to v1.13, update clockwork, or anything like that, it just give me an error saying it isn't connected via usb.
and now (started a few min ago) it isn't being recognised by the computer when I plug it in, even if i try and use 'mass storage' from the menu, whereas yesterday it was

Try flashing it back to window 6.5.... nbh.img?

Yes, I agree with the others.
When I try a new ROM and it fails for some reason or another, I always just go back to win6.5 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=623283) and start over.
A bit of a hassle, but have found this to be the most reliable way so far.

When flash back to 6.5... you don't need a computer. All you need is an SD card. Download the correct file that matches to your country... extract the file... pull out the nbh file and rename it leo... then place it on the root of your SD... then boot.
This is a short run down of how to get it back to stock. Search a little... cause I know there is a thread that tells you how to do it in detail... plus it have all the files that you'll need.
