New Kies 1.5.3.10103.102

Downloading now.
Scripts for checking update no longer work, even when I supplied them with new version's number. Probably they made some additional changes to the process.

Already upgraded... JPO is still the latest Froyo release.

I'm still on 2.1 (XEO product code) - so be happy with what you have

does the dll patch still work?

My guess is that it would require an update, since the dll changed and things inside probably moved a bit.

Reg hack does not works any no more Froyo updates its totally blocked

I am using win7 x64 and I have not had an issue until now.
When I set my phone to connect to Kies the program loops opening and closing and never connects.

It was an app I had installed Either... Google sky maps, Google shopper or winamp (remove the newest apps and it fixed the issue)

They spend more time to make sure that people don't use reg hacks than on the roll out of the actual official fw. What a retarded company. :|

So annoying. Each time they do an update to Kies it effects the Firmware upgrade of the SGS.
My previous version of Kies 1.5.3.10103_100 stated:
"The latest version is already installed on connected device.
Which is correct as it's stock OPTUS Australian firmware and Froyo has not been released in Australia.
After the message indicating a new version of Kies 1.5.3.10103_102 was available, which I did not install, the statement changed to:
"This version can not be updated"
So are we being forced to do the Kies update.
I will do it and see what the message say's then but at this time things are not looking good for Kies, SGS and Samsung. Getting well and truly annoyed with the way they do business.
Have just updated which took less time then normal which is a step in the right direction.
Kies now correctly reports for my SGS:
"The latest version is already installed on connected device.
Whew.

This tool is was designed in order to easily patch the registry to force Kies to update your Galaxy S.
This latest version of patcher works even with latest Kies (1.5.3.10103.102), all you have to do is to spoof your firmware version to and older one, you can even spoof the product code in order to change it.
The new spoof system works differently from the older patching system, it allow you to use the original dll of kies and works on latest Kies; It should even be future-proof.

Ugh, I updated and now it won't recognise my Tmo SGS T959. It doesn't even acknowledge that it's plugged in. Back to Kies 1.5.3.10093_82, I go.

I have the same problem with 1.5.3.10103_102 on my I9000 on a windows XP system, when I plug in my phone just get USB not recognized. Kies is a pain.

In my quest to resolve the FsUsbService64 Service Initiali Failed errors, I found a newer version of KIES on this website.

and voila, no more errors !! Problem Resolved !!
However, I am not sure where this version come from as it is newer... than official Samsung version. If anyone knows ... pls share.
If you have USB driver issues, click on KIES pull down menu at top left and click on Driver Recovery. It should resolve your USB Driver issues.

Very slow downloading but lets hope it is way better on win 7 64 than the previous version....

It would be very difficult to make something worse.

OK so I am in the dark ages even though I have an iphone and a SGT i use parallels and load w2k for my windows needs.
Unfortunately I can't load Kies without XP or later. I know there used to be a way to trick Windows XP into thinking it was W2K, Is there a way to trick the Kies that I am on XP?

I just tried the link and it's Kies_2.0.0.11011_16_5.exe dated 6th Jan.
And at 95MB download, much less than older the KIES.

Its on support page http://www.samsung.com/pt stating Galaxy Tab

So I have downloaded the new version, installed and and I still get the "Connect device in the Samsung Kies (PC Studio) mode."
I've searched all over and can't figure this one out as my Verizon Tab doesn't have that mode anywhere...

Mine just says Connecting... forever. Help?

I have tried running Kies from all the above links and none work. Everyone says device not supported getting a little ticked off. I wanted to keep one of my tabs stock and one gianny pig but it looks like I have flash roms on both to stay curent

Yup same here (least on vista 32bit at work) ...2x downloads and not working here (get an access error on startup).
I will try again at home on win7 64 to see if i have more success there.
Still stuck on stock firmware here as i have a Tesco's Unbranded tab ..It's not network locked, but not updatable yet either!

Wow, thanks for the tip, this is indeed _way_ quicker (about 30-fold...) !

I'm running Win7 64bit and it works fine.
New UI is much better imo. Have not played much but it has a emergency firmware recovery option and now has an itunes playlist importer.
Says I have latest firmware (JK5)

try it on my XP cause fille missing error. Now I am not able to reboot my XP.

tried to update but it just makes a lot of problems
first opens 3 update windows automatically
then after one of them finish downloading it just closes itself and nothing happen

Just updated Kies to 2.0.0.11032_12 successfully. But no Ginger ATM.

And according samsung.de this is dated 5.1.2011. So it is out for a while

Thats odd os the one downloaded today although it has a lower build number is dated ‎29 ‎January ‎2011, ‏‎23:11:02. The newest part is dated Feb14th.

When I download the update for kies it gets to the dowloading files part and is on 100% but carries on downloading past the 53642kb on something like over 233343 whats wrong with it? Also it keeps asking for internet connection and i click retry every so often? Is there anyway I can download the new version and uninstall the old one rather than updating?

i noticed that this new update is more responsive than the last at least they are improving their apllication

That's happened to me a few times since Kies was first released. The short/kindest answer is that Samsung developers aren't the best...

Kies for MAC (OS X)

Just to let you know that kies for Mac's been released yesterday and it's available for download from Samsung website.
Seems to be exact copy (at least UI) of Windows version.

Is it fully functional, like Win version? Last time I tried to use KIES mini on my iMac and get the information, that my phone (SGS2) is not supported.

Well the Mac version only has options to Sync Music/Videos/Podcasts. Thats it.
Theres no Samsung App Store inbuilt and also I don't see any option for Firmware Download settings or Emergency Firmware Recovery or Install Drivers settings.
So the Mac version seems highly limited in comparison to Windows one.

when I connect my sgs2 on it they has found my device and found the fw I got in my phone + the newest FW on samsung, but in kies mac say can't update fw and wait for the official kies on mac first !! wierd I think this is official when they put this app in to there website??

Well, I heard, that Odin is a service tool and there is an "inside counter", that tell the service (when you give phone on guarantie), that you've used it x times. I'm new to Android (I had i4 until last week) and still learning and I'm quite afraid to use Odin. Can I brick phone using odin?

Can you brick a phone using a firmware-flashing utility which let's you overwrite your phone's internal drives with random binary files? Yes.
That said, I find Odin much easier and much more reliable than Kies.

yes u can brick urs phone in a any fw update as kies or odin but samsung factory using odin as well and not that user app Kies! and odin can u flash to new FW or reflash to old version if the new version is bugged , if u brick wont start op så try using odin for reflash and u phone will be new again

Im getting "recconet the device in samsung kies (pc studio) mode". I cannot find any specific setting for kies, any help plz ?

I was thinking that myself psp888 but I'm not too confident on that.

For some reason my says that already has the latest version which is 2.0.0.11044_11. Well it is not for some reason, it is for Kies reason..

Done the update and plugged in my phone (KE7) on the off chance of a further firmware upgrade but still states it's the latest one.
But it did connect to the phone right away which normally never happens.

Updated Kies but no new firmware.

In the SGS days (not that long ago) a new version of Kies was often just a few days before some nice new firmware releases.
Keeping the hope up, but we'll see..........

2.3.4 does not require a kies update for it to be downloaded or installed. Kies uses a specific protocol to communicate with your phone. Update is usually to add features or speed up things, improvements etc.

I thought that for those like me still not ready to root their devices can only update to 2.3.4 can only do so through Kies or go to a Samsung service center, or is there any other means?

My Kies bugs out every time I try to update, says the internet is not connected.
It also downloads more files than it is expected whilst retrying internet connection (eg. 54000/40000 KB).
Can anyone post a link to directly download the install file instead of using the update feature?
