If what you mean is flashing a ROM onto your phone then clearly seen as the actual phone is a T-MOUS phone you should use T-MOUS version.
yupp thats what i mean...
thanks

The TMOUS version has 576 MB RAM, 1 GB ROM, compared to 448 MB RAM, 512 MB ROM on the EU version so you can use ANY ROM - Just make sure that you set the System partition to the right size!
Hope this helps

Hello =)
I am considering buying the USA version of the HD2
I was searching all over E-bay but it seems all they sell there is a version that has 512mb Rom and not 1GB.
Can anyone direct me?
and what is the best price to pay for this device?
i have one for sale
PM ME
No one knows?
I thought maybe another rom neeeded to open the 1gb Rom...
Or maybe T-mobile have 2 versions of the HD2...1 with 512MB and 1 with 1GB
some info plz ^_^
just so you know, only TMOUS has 1gb of ROM, not ram.
Huge difference there.
Damm
I made that mistake again...I ment Rom not Ram.
1gb Rom 576mb Ram. this is what I want )

HTC makes 2 different versions of the HD2. The T-Mobile US version is the only one with a full 1GB of ROM memory, period.
Well
So How can you explain that ebay is full of T-mobile USA versions of the HD2 that has only 512mb Rom? its just like the European version but with another radio version..so maybe there are 3 models?
It could be the UK T-Mobile version which only has the 512 ... the US T-Mobile version has 1GB
if I buy a German ONE, I wonder whether I can flashing the rom of USA one here,
thanks all!!
The european models have less memory. you cannot flash USA rom on the european models. There is a separate forum for the HTC Leo.

yes you can.
Its the other way that doesnt work, you cant flash euro roms onto tmous phones, but our euro phones will happily run tmous roms. Thats how we get our RAM unlocked to the full 576, , ,by flashing tmous roms and radios.

Hello guys!
Yesterday I bought my new HD2!
BUT it looks like a normal Leo (not the T-mobile one) but on the back of the case, and on the white sticker sealing it, it's written "PHONE KIT T-MOBILE LEO" and when the phone starts it displays the T-mobile logo without displaying the "htc quietly brilliant" logo!; same on shutting down. (even after a hard reset).
From the inside it's a normal 448 MB RAM phone!
I've attached some explaining pics.
I bought it from the UK!
Here are the original stock specs:
OS version:5.2.21889 (21889.5.0.87)
Manila version:2.5.20121429.0
ROM version:1.72.110.4 (86525) WWE
ROM date:04/02/10
Radio version:2.07.51.22_2
Protocol version:15.32.50.07U
Please tell me what is this phone?! How should i treat it?! And how come there's this combination!!??
What about the apps and official/unofficial updates not applicable for HTC T-mobile version!? Should i install them or not?!?
It's confusing
Thanks guys!
The one that is different is the US T-Mobile version. Your UK T-Mobile is a normal euro version, or T8585. You don't have to worry about what radio or rom you flash like you would with the US version, but you only have 512mb ROM rather than the 1024MB ROM the T-Mobile US HD2 has.
ok man thanks a lot!
That's relieving!
Am, hello guys.I think my HD2 is with 448 mb ram, will this work to me? also it's from Orange France but unlocked with rom from bouygues telecom..im afraid that the radio version might brick my phone?
Can somebody please tell me which radio should i use? Also how do you know if your leo is 512 or 1024? Mine's with 448 ram and 512 ROM memory i think..Will it run WP7?

If it days t mobile on the top its the 1024 version, very high chance you have the eu 512. Any radio above 2.10 should enable the 512 but just read the guides, simple to install
No it doesnt have any T-mobile on it.So i should install whatever radio i want?

no.
Flash the 2.15.00 radio on it for best performance IMO.
some people report better battery life with 2.12.50

You at least don't have to worry too much about a radio bricking your HD2. Only T-Mobile USA models are instabrickable by flashing a wrong radio.
If you really, really want to be sure, check your model identifier while in bootloader. It'll be near the top of the screen and should be PB81100. On T-Mobile USA HD2's, the model identifier will be PB81120.

That page, while informative, answers absolutely none of OP's questions in its current form.
It doesn't contain any warning about flashing non-576MB RAM enabled radio's to TMOUS HD2's, only a vague warning not to flash a 512LEO ROM to a 1024LEO. It doesn't mention WP7 at all.
Reading through the stickies in relevant forums is probably a much better place to start right now.
Been out of the HD2 forums for sometime so bit rusty & out of touch.
I have manged to get hold of a T-mobile HD2 & would like to know if I can put a standard WWE ruu 6.5 on if I need to go back to windows for w/e reason?
I do intend to put Andriod on due to the extra memory on the T-mobile version.
Thanks
If you mean a t mobile USA (tmous) then NO!! Never ever flash an unbranded or non tmous branded) rom. Tmous will ONLY take tmous branded roms, otherwise the radio in regular roms will brick it.
However yes its simple to go back from android to winmo stock.

As far as i am aware it's a UK t-mobile thats been sim unlocked.
Will this make any difference? How can i tel if it's a tmous or not?
Ta
Ah that's different, only tmous (green send red end keys) are affected by radio brick. (Well, normal flashing risks apply, of course, but there's no rom that can brick your phone just by flashing it.)
The confusion is your post 1 mentions extra memory(edit see **), , that's tmous only. Your phone is a regular hd2, rom locked to t mobile. (Not connected to sim unlock, it will always be rom locked to t mo, so your stock roms will be "HTC Leo UK tmo 1.43, 1.72 and 3.14.
The tmous can be considered a slightly different phone than the rest of us have.mines o2 UK, same as yours but different rom lock. Everything's the same tho, dead easy to go back to stock, various ways to do it should you need to.(I wont 1,2,3 it, go read the tuts and stickies)
Edit ** I assumed you meant 1024 rom instead of 512, but maybe you mean the ram, 576 vs 448, well that extra 128 is actually there in our phones, you just don't get to use it in the stock roms, it requires a tmous spl and radio to unlock it,, android will see and use it, you don't need to do anything.
