Looking for the black keyboard in yota contacts to be used as all keyboards. Essentially i want Diamond original to be black
****************************
Allright LADIES and GENTS, Found THE nicest KEYBOARD in BLACK!
Step 1: Unzip File and copy the unzipped folder directly under PROGRAM FILES on you DEVICE (not INTERNAL)
Step 2: Run fingerkey_register file and select yes!
Step 3: Reboot Phone, and under SETTING, KEYBOARD select Finger Keyboard for Default keyboard
** If you dont like the PGDN buttons on the bottom, no fear
Rename SKIN file in SKINS DIR to SKIN3 and rename the rename SKIN1 to SKIN.
The page down buttons will now appear on the 123 page.
PS Found that on Touch HD ported roms, everytime you reboot phone it defaults to TOUCH KB, so just hit keyboard button at bottom and select finger. If anyone can fix this that would be great!
TO REMOVE - Unregistered it, then soft reset. Now go and delete the entire FingerKeyb folder. That should remove it all.
If the yota keyboard could be used as the normal keyboard is would be awesome!
IT CAAAAAAAANT!!!
does the yota phone use the normal diamond type keyboard for the rest of windows?
I inverted colours in some keyboard files now, I'll post them in few days, when I edit all of them.
That looks amazing keemot, im looking forward to it

wow nice think you can make the phone keypad like this too or u doing all the diamond keyboards thanx again for sharing
Hey.
does it exist anything able to make the keyboards on Diamond ROM 203 swe to become black? i've tried alot of things and it always ends with a Hardware reset.
would have been nice with a black skin for the Dial app too. now i'm using assets_black dial, but i need to copy the file after each soft reset.
finally,
I'm deeply impressed by all the hard work you guys have done, to develop some amazing apps/skins for the Diamond.

try to copy out the 2nd folder in FingerKeyboar... to device's Program Files. It works for me after doing so.
Not sure if this is the right place to put this, but it seems like it's as close as its going to get.
In doing some searches it seemed like at least in June there were problems using PocketPlayer 4.1 on the WM6.5 roms. I just got an Imagio yesterday and there still seems to be issues--but I can't find if there's a solution or not.
The problem is that many of the settings (for instance, where I first noticed it was in the podcast settings--I can't change any of them so I can't set it to use cell signal to download anything, for example). The advanced settings just don't change no matter what I do. Also, a new skin copied to the correct directory on the device doesn't show up in the list of skins even after the program has been totally shut down and restarted.
So, anyone know of a solution? I've got an email into Conduits but I haven't heard back. Hopefully they get back to me soon as I'd like to give them my $20, but not till this is resolved!
any ideas?
If you bring up the onscreen keyboard, you can use the arrow keys to navigate the options and the enter key to select the options.

It's a great program. I hope they make these menus a bit more finger friendly like they did with the rest of the application.
Hi
What is the best alternative keyboard for nook touch?
Thanks
I try a lot of keybords today. Two works fine (much better than nook's keyboard):
1. Go Keyboard
cons: You can't see any word in setings page (eink compatibility I guess)
2. Swiftkey
cons: Annoying preview when press keys and you can't turn it off.

Sorry for resurrecting this thread, but I just got a chance to experiment a bit more with GO Keyboard. Yeah, it totally sucks that you can't see ANY text on the Settings page..... and I'd kill to find out how to shut off the key preview (upon key presses). Love the keyboard but it gets sooooo messy when preview is on.
Kudos to anyone who knows which item in the settings list shuts it off!
I installed GO keyboard on my phone so I can see the text in the settings from there. Key preview, popup, is in Display settings (Tv/ square with chainwheel symbol), and than fourth setting from the bottom.
To install new languages you can just download them from market and than switch directly from the keyboard.

Thanks for noticing this thread AND helping me out with perfect instructions! Much obliged!
Is there a chance someone with Go Keyboard on their phone could post screenshots or a list of the menus? I've been blindly checking and unchecking to change things which is not working too well.
Hacker Keyboard
I tried GO Keyboard, but it had a little too much animation for my liking. I did a bit of Googling, and I found Hacker's Keyboard. The version on the Market requires a newer version of Android than we have on the Nook, but I found an apk here: http://code.google.com/p/hackerskeyboard/issues/detail?id=57 that is redone for 2.1. Been running it for a day now, and it seems to work great.

Hacker's Keyboard works realy nice. Very usefull for terminal app
Thanks
yes, hacker's keyboard seems to be the best for nook. unfortunately it is dark. It would be great to have white skin (similar to standard nook keyboard).

For those who have been able to install Hackers Keyboard, could you give a rundown on how you did it?
I copied it to /system/app, rebooted, and installed it but it still does not show up as a choice in keyboard selection in Nook Color Tools.
I installed the version from the above post.
Thank you

Delete that file from system, reboot, install as normal apk, then copy the installed apk from data/app to system/app, reboot. Then if apk is ok it will work.

Awesome, that worked!
I was copy/paste-ing the wrong apk.
Thank you
Hackers Keyboard works great for me.
I had trouble when in google talk app as it displayed only 2/3 of my keyboard but installed hackers keyboard and now it works fine
Hackers keyboard on android market wont work because its for 2.3+ android version but they made version for 2.1.
To install Hackers Keyboard:
I can't paste URLs links yet (dont have 8 posts) so go that link mentioned above and find comment # 8th, then download attached file "hkeyboard.apk" and:
1. plug in ur nook to pc
2. copy the hkeyboard.apk file somwhere on ur nook
3. unplug
4. install it normally (find and just run the file)
5. open a file manager that let u access root folder and let u see system files (i used "Root Browser")
6. go to /data/app (if it says the folder is empty u have to enable system files preview)
7. copy installed app (it should be somwhere on the bottom on the list)
8. go to system/app
9. paste the file
10. dont run the app yet! if you do uninstall it and go to point 1
11. reboot (turn off completly and power back on)
12. run the app and do what they ask u to do or (prefered way) go to Nook Color Tools (u should have it preinstalled when rooting) and change ur keyboard to hackers keyboard
13.done
14. if u want to go back go to old keyboard or any else Nook color Tools and change the keyboard
-------------------------------------------
Go keyboard works as well (to install do the same operations as mentioned above) but its to flashy and u dont see the text in preferences (u have to install it on ur phone and then go back and forth to see where u are).
BTW is there a way to see the text in Go Keyboard preference window? ive discovered that in some apps this happens to, is there an app for it? xD
PS Damn, my Nook just died after 3 days of intense usage
Where's my promised 2 months? ;O
2h hours left for it to eat up... gotta do something else for next 2h ;(

Well, looks like it's time for me to try experimenting with the framework-res.apk
If it helps: that white unreadable text also appear in xda app when changing the theme to dark. The whole forum is then unreadable...
Sent from my NOOK STR using XDA

Try getting the android sdk and installing go keyboard on that. You can then see the text in there, and compare it to your nook.
Do that until Googie comes back with a new framework file.
Hackerskeyboard works like a charm. ;]
code[dot]google[dot]com/p/hackerskeyboard/issues/detail?id=57
The Hackers Keyboard is great, but does anybody have the same problem as mine.
The problem is that even the Hackers Keyboard includes additional languages, I'm unable to change between them using the sliding gesture over the space bar button. I think it has something to do with the multi-touch support.
I will send and email to the author two. I think It wold be nice if the keyboard has a dedicated button for language switch.
changing language by long pressing the space and then sliding sideways works for me, no problem at all but i changed some preferences before using the app and but i dont remember if i messed with language change options
Actually the mistake is all mine. I didn't realized that you have to add more than two languages. The language switch works, except it is not changing the language, but that is another problem

Sorry to hear about your HD2, have PMed you
file uploaded
if anybody need file can be download from
world-call-trade.com/keyboard
1 download to your home folder of where you want.
2 extrect with command tar -zxf TouchKeyBoard.tar.gz
it will create a folder name TouchKeyBoard, in the folder TouchKeyBoard should be 2 files TouchKeyBoard binary and TouchKeyBoard.png.
3 run from same folder ./TouchKeyBoard
it is written in c and gtk you should not have any problem running on gnome desktop if you have any trouble please let me know i will try to resolv.
there in no F key and some symbols are also missing i can make it on if we need.
my goal is creating a good keyboard as android keybord and after then a functional call and sms system over ubuntu desktop.
ps i am new here so cannot post externel links add http &www befor link
I am using ubuntu 10.10 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1025499 running from sd CM9 android
keys are as follows
qwertyuiop returns 789-=[];' and one other char like ' but I can't it.
asdfghjkl returns abcdefghi
zxcvbnm returns opqrstu
1234567890 returns nothing except 8,9 and 0 returns 0,1 and 2 respectively
Shf button just adds a lowercase m before the above letters.
This could be due to VNC or specific ubuntu build.
will try using Ubuntu 0.3a and mouse.
The key windows are a bit small and should me made bigger within the keyboard window, because the main problem with any onscreen keyboard is the sensitivity of the touchscreen.
A maximise/minimise toggle button would be handy because the actual buttons are tiny.
Also a text window at the top of the keyboard showing the last line of text would be useful (like old typewriter software), then you could maximise the keyboard window to fill the screen without having to check your spelling in the document.
Best of luck with your projects
thanks for testing,
i will try to make change as you suggest and up load as soon as finish.
i used us_en char set may you are using dirfrent i will check also that.
please do a faver if you can some pics from v0.3.
thanks againg.
Have attached screenshot.
All buttons seem to work as they should using 0.3, so must have been different default keyboard in 10.10.
Note the keyboard was "always on top" and the tray buttons were grey
hi,
sorry for late responce i was rewriting everything from scratch.
now it should work on any desktop running xserver and gtk.
i have ported linux to my poor samsung 551 for testing in vnc.
samsung have very low screen resolution 400x240 but keyboard work as expected.
changes:
1. fonts are now more bigger and bold.
2. added configuration file buttons and size are configurable.
3. now there are 2 versions 1 for arm and another for x86.
please let me where i can add min/max button.
out of topic:
is there any port for samsung 551 or samsung 5510?
if no i have ported i will open a new thread if someone need.
Thank you for your work
Keyboard is a big threat in Linux :/
hi,
please test it if you can.
let me know if you need any help.
Hi ashgi, looking good so far.
It still needs a maximise/minimise button. I tried full-screen mode and couldn't get out. There seems to be no Function buttons either, so that I could do ALT F3.
Menu is good idea though
hi Robbie P,
thanks for testing again.
as i asked please give me advice where i can put a min/max button.
last row ramain same on all three pages so we should put a button on last row but there is no space for new button please sombody let me know witch button from last row should be put on another page (a button that less in use) i will try to add another page for missing keys.
but we should finlize first page.
hi,
uploaded 2 new files.
added min/max button.
added F keys please check in Num fkeys.
added missing symbols.
now we have more space on fkey page please let me know if you want add some more keys.
please test new version.
Looks good, m/M button in good position.
The "<" button returns a ">"
There seems to be a small delay between keypress and the colour changing on the button.
Have you thought further on having a toggled text box on the top of the keyboard window showing the last line of typed text. I think this would be a good idea, you could then maximise the keyboard without having to see what you have just typed, and no need to re-arrange windows for best view on such a small screen.
hi,
i am on debian on debian "<" ">" working as expected.
now tested on ubuntu use difrent keysum uploded new file for ubuntu please check if it work.
i will try to add oneline text editor but with toggle key because everybody may not use this feture.
hi,
uploaded new version 0.12
added toggle text box box.
you can access OBD (On Board Display) from Num fkey OBD.
removed ubuntu version added option "dist" in configuration file.
OBD have MAX. 50 words after 50 it will clear display and start from beginning
it have no effect on actual program where you are writing.
Enter key also clear display.
WARNING: OBD display as you type in clear text even PASSWORDS so use on you own risk.
i am not RESPONSIBLE if your girlfriend read you PASSWORDS
Please test and let me know how it works.
Download TouchKeyBoard from http://www.world-call-trade.com/keyboard/
Will it support russian localization?
hi a4necromant,
i am currently working on localization if you can provide translation i will send you header file.
option for switching lang is added to configuration file.
I like the obd
I was thinking text would start on the Right hand side and as letters are typed the words would scroll to the left until they disappeared or reached 50 letters or a return key was pressed. But that might be tricky to code. And others may not like or use it. Possibly changeable font size in obd?Or proportional to window size?
<> is fine now.
Well done again
Dear Note 3 fans,
I have been fighting for almost a month with my new Note 3. I have tried an overwhelming amount of ROMs, but the ROM of artas182 is the only one, where it worked. I have posted a lot of questions and I have been sending a lot of PMs to developers. Unfortunately, nobody gave me an answer, nobody has provided help.
Hence I have no other choice, but to use this ROM. It is stable, but there are a lot of
glitches and a lot of inconvenience. At the price of many sleepless nights, I have finally managed to solve almost all of them and I have decided to publish a little guide, with the hopevthat it might be helpful to somebody:
Problem 1: SD card is not being seen from a PC, when the phone is connected to USB.
Solution 1: well, I still didn't find a real solution for this. But there is a nice workaround - use TWRP 3.0.2-1. When it's necessary to copy files to the SD card, boot into recovery - now the SD card is visible from the PC. I know it's cumbersome and it's
far from perfect, but it's way better than opening the phone, taking the SD card out or copying stuff to the internal memory and moving it then to the SD card
Problem 2: Everything looks huge. TouchWizHome is not looking nice with a grid of 4x5 on a 5.7" display !!
Solution 2: Install an app, called DPI changer and set a more appropriate value for DPI.
As far as I know, 420 is a standard, I have although set it to 400, because I desperately
needed to get things smaller. Now we've solved one issue, but caused several other glitches, which I will describe here.
Glitch A: The grid is still 4x5. There is a huge wasted space around the icons.
Solution A: I tried to put a lot of modded TouchWizHome.apk files and replace the original one, but no matter what I tried, I was always getting an error message "Unfortunately TouchWizHome has stopped". Hence the solution is to install another launcher. S Launcher is the closest to TouchWiz. But I decided to use Next Launcher, as it provides a really different looks to the phone and I like all those 3D effects (they remind me a little bit on the Linux Compiz). Now I have a 5x5 grid. Beautiful!
Glitch B: The dialer seems to be with hardcoded DPI. The buttons only cover part of the screen and they leave an unsymmetrical white space on the screen - UGLY!
Solution B: Install Zero Dialer. Set it as the default dialer (Settings / Default applications) and then go to Settings / Application manager and disable the original phone app.
Glitch C: The camera app is also with hardcoded DPI settings. It looks ridiculously small on the gorgeous 5.7" screen and leaves a lot of black space around the app. Worse, touching the buttons doesn't work. One has to kinda tap next to a button, in order to hit it. Terrible !!
Solution C: Install another camera app. I personally like Camera zoom FX. This causes glitch D.
Glitch D: It's not possible to set which camera app is being invoked from the shortcut on the lock screen.
Solution D: Download BlackRose ROM (BlackRose_Marshmallow_Note5_NewUx_v1_Light.zip). Open the zip file and go to
System\priv-app\SamsungCamera5 and extract SamsungCamera5.apk from there. On the phone, open Root Explorer and go to /system/priv-app/SamsungCamera3 and copy SamsungCamera5.apk there. Rename SamsungCamera3.apk to SamsungCamera3.apk.bak. Rename SamsungCamera5.apk to SamsungCamera3.apk.
Set the permissions to 644. Go to /data/dalvik-cache, scroll to the end of the list, and going from the bottom, look for a file, containing the name SamsungCamera3. Delete it and restart the phone. Now we've successfully replaced the stock camera with an app with better resolution. Now it only leaves a small black strap at the bottom of the screen. The buttons are working fine now!
Problem 3: When you long-press the power button, the 3 icons for setting the phone to mute, vibration and sound are missing.
Solution 3: Unfortunately, I still don't have a solution for this one! I would be very very
thankful, if somebody would advise how this can be solved. Maybe it's possible to replace the whole power menu ? I have tried Lockscreen vibrate widget, but I didn't find a way to make it show up on the lock screen
Problem 4: The alarm does not produce ANY SOUNDS at times. It might be related to charging.
Solution 4: Install and use Timely
@artas182x - MANY MANY THANKS for providing the only custom ROM with working encryption. I hope that you will not be angry about this post, on the contrary, you would hopefully embrace it as a contribution for establishing the leading posistion of your ROM
