I'm considering buying an (carrier-) unlocked Omnia 7 and was wondering if it will work on T-Mobile USA.
Thanks in advance!
I bought an sim unlocked omnia 7 online for 2 months.
I bought an sim unlocked omnia 7 online for 2 months. It works both AT&T and T-Mobile, except you don't have 3G with T-Mobile (only EDGE).

So I purchased the phone 2 weeks after it came out and I'm looking to sell right now just to downgrade. Can this phone be used for Tmobile 3g or just ATT?
That depends on whether you bought the T-Mobile version of the Nexus One or the AT&T version. Being that you bought it, you should know which one you bought.

judging by the "..or just.." you have an AT&T N1 which can not work on T-Mobile 3G but does support Edge.
Its the unsubsidized version.
No, which one did you buy? You can get unsubsidized for either one of the 3G bands.
You mention 2 weeks after it came out, last month when the AT&T one came out? Or in January when the T-Mobile one came out?
If you bought it in January, then the 3G only works on T-Mobile, it won't work on AT&T.
No, I meant 2 weeks after the first initial release. I assume it would work w/ Tmobile since now you can choose between two different versions of the phone. When I purchased it, I had no choice then.

If you purchased a Nexus One in January, you have a T-Mobile 3G Nexus One.
If you put an AT&T sim card in it, it will work on AT&T but only on 2G.
/end of thread
Yeah, when you purchased it you had no choice for 3G, you had to use it on T-Mobile for the 3G to work. So you bought the T-Mobile version. The AT&T version didn't come out until last month.
If you have been using it on AT&T you have only been using the slow 2G data.
So now when selling it, you need to tell the buyer it will be very slow unless they use it on T-Mobile.
I am traveling to France for 2 weeks
I would like to have 3g Data and voice while I am over there
Does anyone recomend a Pre Paid Sim provider that i should go with?
I have a Unlocked Tmobile Galaxy S2
Thanks in advance
Hi,
Here in the UK it seems that the O2 network has plenty of Nexus 4's in stock. They provide the phone on a monthly contract on their network or you can buy the phone on O2 pay as you go for £399.
I am currently using a HTC wildfire as my Galaxy Nexus developed a charging problem, therefore I am desperate to get my hands on a Nexus 4 asap. If I were to purchase an O2 pay as you go Nexus 4, how easy would it be to unlock the phone from the O2 network and use my Vodafone sim card with it?
Thanks
From reading other threads it seems the phone comes unlocked?
Has anyone on Vodafone been able to use their SIM with a phone purchased from O2?
It's already unlocked
Hi!
I'm thinking of buying a Nexus 4 from a play store in Canada. My question is, does an unbranded Canadian Nexus work on European networks and sims?
Yes, nexus 4 is Quadriband and Sim Free.
I would like to buy a nexus 7 tablet with cellular data. I saw on google play device page there is a version for AT&T. I live in a different country. Device from at&t is compatible with my country network. I bought a Motorola Atrix 4G throught amazon.
If i buy from Google Play would the device be network locked to at&t? Should i buy from other place?
It is not a version specifically for AT&T. It is an unlocked GSM device. You can use it as long as you have a data plan for tablets or something similar.

Confirm. If you buy from Google Play it will not be locked to AT&T.
It's not sim locked, it just comes with a AT&T sim card, same goes to the T-Mobile version.

I can confirm this (least with a Nexus 4). The only difference between for example a Nexus 4 purchased from google directly and from T-Mobile is the higher price + Sim card, otherwise you can just pop in a new GSM sim card and it'll work. The same should be true of the Nexus 7, and Nexus 10 with 3G capabilities. (Google as I recall won't deal with carriers that wish to sim-lock their devices).
so basically there is no such thing as a locked nexus 7 2 gen + 4g (2013) ?
I'm looking for a nexus 7 2 gen 32gb + 4g and the seller stated that it's locked on t-mobile

I'm not sure about the nexus 7 but Google will allow simlocks what they will not allow carriers to do is lock the bootloader. The nexus range are first and foremost a developer range simlocks don't interfere with that but locked bootloader do.

I don't want to start a new thread for an old topic, so I'm recycling this one with the same basic question.
I have a chance to get a Nexus 7 2013 with LTE, but the seller claims that it is "locked to T-Mobile" and comes packaged with a T-Mo SIM.
I never thought these Nexus 7s were locked to any carrier. Has anyone here confirmed that these will work on other carriers, before I take the leap?
Have a Nexus 7 2nd gen, won't work with T-Mobile
I bought a used 2nd gen Nexus 7 which was sold as being unlocked, but it wouldn't sign in to T-Mobile's network. Their tech called support at ASUS who replied that the Nexus 7 can be locked by a particular carrier when it joins their network.
I did two full factory resets to no avail. My SIM works in my Chromebook but not in my tablet.
