dude you sound like me, im always switching phones up. trust me as ive owned more than i posted above. hell im even thinking of returning my evo to best buy and reverting my upgrade and trying out a cheap lg optimus off of craigslist for a few weeks until the 3d comes. i just love to try new phones out. id even love to play with the hd7 if i could.
blackberry 8530 and before that was a palm treo.
Current phones: Nexus S 4G, AT&T iPhone 4.
Past phones: EVO 4G, iPhone 3GS, Touch Pro 1 & 2, iPhone 3G, HTC Touch, Palm Centro, iPhone 2G, HTC Wing, HTC tilt, Treo 700.
Looking forward: I'm definitely getting the iPhone 5/4GS. I have a full upgrade on Sprint right now but will probably wait for the next Nexus, but if ICS runs great on the Nexus S, I'll probably wont use it until when Windows 8 drops and will get a Sprint Windows Phone right around then.

touch vogue..running android!
touch diamond...broke!
blackberry curve 8330...hated it!
palm pre....broke!
palm pixi
then finally hero!
oh yeah and all of those phones i owned were within a years time!
ive had some bad luck!
Let's see... In order of acquisition:
LG CU2000 (Cingular)
Sony Ericsson W810i (debranded, unlocked, and custom firmware, also on Cingular)
Samsung Eternity (AT&T)
Samsung Impression (exchanged the Eternity for it because the Eternity wasn't as good... also AT&T)
Palm Pre (Sprint)
HTC Hero (Returned the Pre because the build quality sucked... didn't know if it would last me 2 years... also Sprint).
Nokia 5300
Tmobile SDA
HTC kaiser
Samsung in-stink
Blackberry 8330
Touch diamond
Touch pro
Palm pre
Touch pro 2
Finally the hero......... to be continued
Motorola RAZR (T-Mobile) - i loved that phone!!but needed an upgrade!!
Sidekick 3 (T-Mobile) - I think it was the best sidekick evar!
Sidekick iD (T-Mobile) - Crappy...didnt even last a year with it
G1 ( T-Mobile) - That was my baby!! i miss it sometimes but i couldnt stand T-Mobile service in area
HTC Hero (Sprint) - Better phone, better service provider! not changing it till i see another android phone worth it!
well ive owned a ton of other phones too but i can't rememebr them all.
my next upgrade will be the nexus if it comes to sprint or the supersonic.
The ones I can remember are Treo 650 then using Sprint's insurance got the Treo 700 and same way got 755p. Now I have the Hero.....
sidekick 1
sidekick 2
sidekick 3
iphone
blackberry 8330
htc hero
LG PM-225 in silver
Samsung Upstage in Black (didn't last 6 months
Blackberry 8703e
Blackberry Curve 8330
HTC Hero.
The Hero by far is the best phone I've owned. Only thing I miss from the blackberries is push email across all 3 emails that I had.

I got the tp2 and loved that phone(it was awesome) but 3 days later the hero came out and there was enough hype for me to trade in the tp2. After a few days I felt Android was boring so I booted the hero and got the tp2 again. A month later I final came to terms with winmo and realized I had to go back to the hero as android was the ishhhh. Lol ( you don't know what ya got till its gone) Now I got the hero again and don't see any reason why I should be leaving Android again
my phone
i owned
sprint instinct 4 months
iphone 1 year
iphone 3g 1 year
iphone 3GS 1 year
sprint hero 2 months
My issue was with winmo because I got sick and tired of flashing (flashaholic) and the OS never truly got better no matter what the build. I thought if I was to stick with android I wouldn't need to do that because from right after switching Android seemed perfect but yet I'm flashing again (facepalm) lol
(Virgin Mobile) Audiovox Flasher - 4 Years (this was during high school when I didn't really care for phones.)
Samsung Rant - 5 Months
iPhone 3G - 5 Months
HTC Hero - At the 5 Month mark again and I'm craving something far more powerful like the Supersonic.
hmm.. i've had a lot of phones i cant even remember them all in order haha
i've had...
iphone
iphone 3gs
blackberry pearl flip
samsung omnia

Sorry if this is old news, but I was in 2 malls this week doing some christmas shopping, and saw kiosks devoted ONLY to the Evo. There were about 6 Evos on display and 2 big evos like the iphones in the apple store. Funny thing was, one of them was setup right in-front of the apple store. Im sure that wasnt on accident! Go sprint!
PS, this was in Los Angeles Anyone else see these?
Is that the new EVO 4G Tablet on the side of the kiosk?

...because it just came out and is the headlining Android phone? Which brings me to my main point, does anyone think it's sad that the EVO is still Sprint's flagship phone? During the same time period:
a. Verizon had the Incredible, then the Droid X, Fascinate, Droid 2, and now the Droid Pro.
b. AT&T had the iPhone 4, Captivate, BB Torch, and now a slew of WP7 phones.
c. T-Mo had the MyTouch 3G slide, Vibrant, G2, MyTouch 4G, and now the Nexus S.
..and Sprint? The EVO and Epic. What's up with that? This isn't a which phone is better thing, just pointing out how much Sprint is lacking on the high end phone selection.
Since as a Premier member I can only upgrade every 12 monts, I'm cool with it.

Sprint's NEVER had the biggest phone selection. They offer a few fantastic phones and dirt cheap plans. Honestly though, I'd pick the Evo and the Epic over any Android phone out there right now though haha. The Nexus S would be the only one I'd consider, but not anywhere near enough to leave spring haha

T-Mo is arguably as cheap plus it's HSPA+ is free. With them you got the options of: the Vibrant (it's SGS variant but is "meh"), G2 (Powerful and slick slider with Vanilla Android), MyTouch 4G (which is just about the/one of the best spec'd phones out), or the Nexus S (arguably the best phone out right now).
You could argue that you'll just upgrade every year in June but how is that a good thing? I mean, look at that Shift 4G thread where people are arguing on whether the EVO is still worth getting? It's 6 months old, I would feel extremely limited and not to mention shafted if I needed to get a high end Sprint phone right now.
I just think that Sprint has to step up with some more phones.

The Droid Pro is trash IMO. I'd consider the Nexus S, iPhone 4, G2, and maybe (but probably not) a WP7 phone. It's all matter of preference but the fact is that you got more worthwhile phones to judge and I wish that was the case with Sprint.
And what does all this crap have to do with the original question about the kiosk?
Agreed! I sell phones and I am yet to come by an android phone as reliable, fast, and attractive as the Evo. Sprint's got a lock on phone quality. All the other android phones you mentioned dont measure up...except the Nexus S.

I rather walk in the sprint store and see a few great phones that will fit my needs... maybe like a front facing camera? Or a 4.3 inch screen? HDMI out? 10+mbps of data speed? A kick stand to kick back in the office and watch Hulu at full speed? Or play Need for Speed Shift while waiting for my girl? Maybe use Fring to video chat with her since she also has a front facing camera? Or how about getting on the XDA app and laugh at stupid posts people make regarding sprint and phones and trophys about tours..
Oh crap.. i just dropped my keys.. let me use my twin-led flashlight to find them...
I found them!!

I was jamming out... downloading music with Gtunes.. i can also use windows explorer/music/copy all... dragging and dropping the music files i need without connecting to itunes and syncing...
I just got a notification on my Sony Ericsson Live View... i can see my twitter replys without taking my evo out of my pocket...

Well, I wonder if Sprint will make a special request of Samsung, like they did with the Epic, and have a Nexus S with a external storage. I would consider one, then. You know as there new dev unit, google and the devs here will be blowing that thing up. I just wish it wasn't a Samsung.

I qualified for upgrade since 11/1/10 and im elegible was wondering if after april 1st I'll keep my elegibility or will start from 0 .
yeah nexus s 4g NEEDS a memory card slot
If its the LG 3D phone then I think its powered by TI's OMAP4 SoC which from what I understand about it, blows pretty much everything out of the water, and uses significantly less power than other options.
I was an Nexus-One owner, loved the phone, but hated T-Mobile, too many dropped calls, and very poor building penetration around Chicago, inside skyscrapers and Basements T-Mobile drops dead. So I made the switch to Sprint and picked up the EVO 4G the first week it came out, and loved it. Never drop a call, and this phone works great in my Basement office, and inside buildings, where my two previous T-Mobile phones never worked ( Blackberry 9700 + Nexus-One )
But I got tired of the brick size feeling of the EVO, and poor battery life, even though I am rooted with custom ROM that helps double my battery life, it is pretty still bad. So I got the itch for the Nexus-S when it first came out, I said F. it, going back to T-Mobile to get this Nexus-S. I just LOVED the Nexus-S, great light featherweight, very compact and fits in pocket easily, the screen tech is beautiful, and 2.3 Gingerbread was great. It was by far my fav phone.
But after two weeks I returned it and came running back to Sprint and my EVO. It was not the fault of the Nexus-S, but the same T-Mobile issues I had 6 months ago with my Nexus-One and Blackberry, dropped calls, and **** connection when inside Basement office or deep inside tall buildings. For some reason Sprint is much better around Chicago if your in tall buildings.
So I think Sprint bringing the Nexus-S will be great, I will for sure get it. And it is good overall for the "Nexus" brand, gives it more exposure, and more accessories and stuff will be made for it. I think it would be cool if the "Nexus" brand just stayed with the non iPhone carriers like T-Mobile and Sprint. They say the Nexus is Google's version of the iPhone. So lets see the Nexus-3.0 come out at Christmas on both T-Mobile and Sprint only, and be the baddest ass phone ever created, and market the **** out of it to destroy the iPhone5

hTC Evo CM7-n17
I was offered two phone choices nexus s and epic touch for my EVO as the phone is having hardware issues with the 4g connection . Replacement choices where offered by sprint tech support .
Any thoughts on the phones choices, don't need keyboard that leaves me with nexus
I take it they offered you the Epic 4g, and not the Epic 4g Touch? If it was the original Epic they offered I would go with the Nexus S. I really have nothing to back that as I haven't handled either phone, I have just heard some bad things about the Epic.
Did tech say you would have to take it to a store to swap out or that they would mail you one. Reason I ask is the wife is having problems with her epic 4G (random reboots and freezing screen to name a few) and they told me that i have to go to a store to swap out that they don't mail replacments out anymore.
now the voices are customized in 3d
no they can do mail replacement if you ask .
I already bought so many accessories for evo extended batteries, car mount I guess time to get rid of them. Yeah old epic touch was offered
Hey,
If you are going to go that route get the nexus, but it really isnt fair they are trying to gip you out into a cheaper phone. They tried to do the same for me...
Either call tech support or complain to them in your sprint store and they will give you another evo! Worked for me at least!
If not just see if they will cut you a deal to upgrade and get a newer evo!
Goodluck!
Stevo
Are you sure it was the Epic Touch? Highly doubt that. The Epic Touch doesn't have a keyboard, but the original Epic does.
If indeed it was the Epic Touch, get it. If it was the original Epic, get the Nexus S. Far better, pure Google, not plagued by the problems of the Epic, guaranteed updates, newer, better development.....
Sent from my NookColor using xda premium
I'm guessing that each time you say Epic Touch, you mean the Epic 4G (Galaxy S).
The Epic 4G Touch (Galaxy SII) uses the word TOUCH to indicate that it has no keyboard (touchscreen only)
If this is the case, the Nexus would be the way to go, which is nice since ICS update should be coming in a few weeks.
I'm surprised they didn't give an option to upgrade to the EVO 3d.
If they offer the Epic 4G Touch (Galaxy SII), then it's probably the best choice.
Not that anyone would care lol, but my HTC one is gone. It had a good run for about 6 months and I let that beautiful broad go for $350 cash yesterday. I don't think it was a loss considering I got it free through AT&T *business line* but I will definitely miss it. It was one of THE sexiest phones ive ever seen or touched. It could have been THE perfect phone if it wasn't for the camera, other than that kudos to HTC for a spectacular job engineering such a beast of a phone. I must move on though. I'm not leaving android all together i still have a nexus 7 and a kindle fire HD hanging around the house.
Here's my last question or post around the One's forum, a line has an upgrade and im considering either a note 3 or nokia lumia 1520/1020. I really want the 1520 and i could care less how big that sucker is. The phones will be reasonable since im stealing another of my lines upgrade, which phone would you get? The 4th option would be just pay 399 and get a unlocked N5 from google and save the upgrade. Thoughts?
