Hi does anyone know whether we will be able to buy the 4G version that isn't going to be locked into a particular carrier?
Just I am in the Philippines and they are generally about the last country in the world to get things like this - so i would have to wait until September or 1Q 2012 before i could buy it here...
Also can a carrier locked version be unlocked at all?
Thanks in advance
The only carrier version that has been announced so far is for Verizon, expected to come out in July with LTE. No other information has been released

I'm very curious to know if I am going to have any problems rooting my phone when I get it and using it on the rogers network here in Halifax, Canada. I don't know if I need to unlock it after getting the new software on it since the software out there expects a US network. I really want this phone badly but I really only want it for the newer features rooting provides. Does anyone know if I should expect any problems even though it the same phone? I wouldn't expect that because it is a different network that I would have problems.
Since it's not officially released yet, rogers will not quote me a price but I can't see it being more than a damn iphone and T-Mobile released it as $179 with contract and still remains the same so besides a difference in Canadian funds plus tax it should not differ that much.
So can anyone shed some light as to whether the firmware will be able to be loaded on the "Canadian Version"?
As far as I can tell all that is new is this....
"On June 2nd, 2009 it will be released through Rogers Communications in Canada as the HTC Dream. This edition of the HTC Dream includes the UMTS 850 / 1900 bands for use on Rogers' 3G network."
I am unsure if this is new hardware or not and I dunno if it will affect the install of the ROM or not. Please help me out! Thanx!
how can we help u since we don't have either the hardware or the firmware yet. It's only ONE day left so calm down
no damnit...too excited!!! lol
As some people have might noticed, the official specification sheet from samsung say that this phone has 4G LTE, what it does not state however is that only specific regions will get the 4G LTE version. As the info I have now it seem that ONLY south Korea will get the 4G LTE version in December (hopefully early december)
This will force me to import the phone from Sout Korea...I suspect it will not be cheap...
Any one have any more info..about which regions that will get the 4G version and when ?
who knows if the LTE version will be frequency compatible with AT&T though?
well if not, you got 4G, which is getting a lot more common here in sweden.
I am very pissed of that they even release a 3G version, I Was not expected this I was thinking about buying one right now, cause I need one at work, when I get bored...
Would be interesting to know if it is any sites in south Korea that take pre orders of the 4G version.
I also strongly want the White version..
I will be selling mine and getting it from att if they get it with LTE and the version I'm getting next week doesn't get LTE
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA Premium App
well since I am not korean, it will be very hard to find information or shops..but if it will be released next month, it for sure would already now be possible to pre order right now..but since I Do not know korean it will be impossible to find these sites...
I live in the UK and am on a Vodafone contact, I am planning to buy the S5 when it is released here. However I am off to New York in a few weeks and looking at the US unlocked pricing I can save myself over £100.
Is the US and UK phone exactly the same as I know previous models were different and will it work with my sim ?

Think the LTE bands may be different. Best to wait til they're released to check specs of both.

Any US model won't work on LTE in the UK or EU. Only 3G will be working.
However, you can easily buy international version of S5 in the US cheaper than in the UK and it will work on LTE in the UK.
International version are SM-G900F or H.

Try here : http://www.voloxcellular.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=samsung+s5
Or you can go to their store so that you will be able to ask everything you wanna know. :fingers-crossed:
Many thanks for all your replies, I will be sure to go to the store and even try my sim before i buy.
Wow. Where was the marketing? I really want them to do well but they're off to a pretty bad start already.
$699 US; $899 CAD. Shipping begins Nov. 6th.

CAN: http://store.shopblackberry.com/store/bbrryus/en_CA/pd/productID.328095700/categoryID.70448700
Pretty bad start indeed. I was so excited for this phone, willing to pay whatever they charged.
Only to find out today that it isn't on Verizon. I'm crushed! I can't leave the carrier given what I pay for my service. I'd be paying double if I switched.
So so sad
Guys, the carriers have yet to announce their plans on carrier branded versions. This is the unlocked version direct from BB. Give it a week, we'll most likely hear announcements then. I hope T-Mobile announces theirs soon, I want to get it on Jump On Demand with $0 down!
I hope you're right, but I don't have a lot of faith given that they could have said "VZW/SPRINT coming soon" or something like that D:
I don't think the direct shop link would say that, though, because that would imply that they'd sell a VZW/ Sprint version in their online store, which is untrue. That's something they work out with the carriers, who do the marketing in exchange for "exclusivity" and all that blah blah. Don't fret, amigo. Just gotta wait a little bit.
Telus has said they are releasing the Priv on November 6th. That seems to be the date everything is happening.
I hope they will sell the unlocked version in white but not limiting the white version to specific carrier like AT&T or Verizon.

Does Spain not have GSM networks? Just buy it from BB unlocked, it'll work on any carrier. I'm no expert on European cell providers, but to my knowledge almost all carriers use the GSM standard there.

I usually buy my phones unlocked, but if I was to buy it locked from T-Mobile, what would this mean for me? I am somewhat hoping there will be a way to root this, in the future, no matter how vain this hope may be. I'm wondering if it's carrier locked if this will mean it'll be even harder to customize.
Also, it is my experience, carrier-branded phones have a ton of bloatware BS that I don't need installed. I usually wiped and installed a custom rom. If I cannot do so on this phone, will I be able to remove the apps I don't want?
Hi,
I'm interested in buying a A3 (2017) phone.
The model sold in my country (France and rest of Europe) is the a320f, however I may go to Canada next year and I want a device compatible with LTE bands from Europe and Canada. The model a320y sold in Asia and Australia is the same as a320f, except it supports a few more bands (not less), including the ones I need for Canada.
Did one of you manage to buy a different model from a shop? Do you think some shops will be able to ask Samsung to send them a different model? Otherwise, did one of you succeed in importing from other region, for not too expensive, and where did you buy it? I would like to think of importing as a last solution since there will be double tax + shipping costs…
Thanks in advance,
Galaxy A320Y 2017 dual sim
Dear Yurien

Unfortunately, this website only ships within the USA.
Plus, 400 USD + shipping + border taxes is high, considering it costs 330€ in France
Is there any place to buy the A320Y? When I contacted them, welectronics said they are selling the A320F. Only markets I have come across selling A320Y so far are Chile, Mexico, Indonesia, Thailand and New Zealand. I haven't found a source to get one in the US though. I really wanted this phone for its size but if I am not able to get the A320Y I may just go for the S7 after the S8 is released.
*Also don´t forget that sometimes the Data Bands change depending in the carrier!*
A320YD
Hi to All,
I too am trying to get the famous A320Y model. It is obviously better, not only in Canada but in France too because one of the major operators, Free, is developing the LTE 4G band 28(700) which is not on the A320F models.
I contacted Samsung in France and they simply said that only the A320F is available in France and that it would not be possible to get the A320Y.
I have seen some A320Y models on sale in NZ but not in Australia. They seem to be available in Vietnam but I don't speak Vietnamese and I suspect it would be difficult to buy them without some knowledge.
The 320Y I saw on NZ sites was not the dual sim model that I want.
Any more information on this would be most welcome.
Thanks in advance!
