[Q] reboot from Android to Android

Sometimes Android gets slower and I want to reboot just Android, without going all the way back to WinMo. At the moment I use LCDDensity (marketplace) for that (apply the current density and it reboots just Android - very fast!). Can anybody tell me if there is another app/widget just to reboot Android back to Android?
Thanks!
Power off and on? Lol
Search market for reboot there's something there if not when you root it will show up reboot option in your power menu

hmmm... sorry, forgot to mention I'm on Hyperdroid1.6 on HD2. Reboot in the powermenu (hang-up button long press) reboots the phone and starts from WinMo. With LCDDensity it reboots Android, going back to the Android bootloader(?)screen and then you enter the code for the simcard again, etc. Android feels 'fresh' after that. Now if only I had a widget or something for that 'soft-droid-reboot'
Check out Hot Reboot, it's exactly what you're after.

Reboots/starts in recovery every time??

I have Fusion rom installed, used to have Liberty. Either way... every time I restart or turn it on, it starts in recovery. I select" reboot system now" and then it'll start fine. Any ideas?

I love seeing this question asked =)
this is a blessing man. It may be slightly annoying sometimea, but the first time you have a problem with your phone and it starts into recovery, you will be thankful for it. This is just a safeguard that the devs are building into their roms since so many of us mess with our phones so much and constantly need to recover backups. I think from liberty you can disable this feature. I personally love it and have been very thankful for it

Power button options

Has anyone seen a power button mod for our tablets? I know the transformer has one. Just so that when I long press power button I can reboot or get into recovery instead of only being able to shut off the device.

root and install cwm... gives the option of shutdown, reboot, recovery, (and this is possibly just in thor's rom, but) statusbar toggler.

Yea, check out THOR's ROM. With his ROM, you press and hold the power button and are given the options to shut down, reboot, reboot into recovery, or open his special status bar mod.
Yeah but auto brightness and rotation lock don't work on Thor ROM correct?

There's an app called RomToolbox. It's designed for phones, but, it has the boot options in the app. So far, I've ran several of the options on my 501 and haven't had but 1 fc on the animation viewer.
But the boot menu seems to work.
So it seems to function, HOWEVER, some of the options I wouldn't advise using on your tab, because it's a phone app.

Quick Boot is another app specifically for reboot options. Thor's ROM is the only one I've tried that has reboot options when long pressing the power button.

Thors Revolver Rom, was originally ported from an Asus Transformer, which has those boot options. There's one other Transformer port that has it.

There's also a paid version which allows you to hide the options you don't/can't use But yeah, the free version is good enough

Correct, but there is a rotation lock soft key when you click on the notification tab in the bottom right. You can also manually adjust the screen brightness here too, which is what I always did even with stock ROM.
In terms of changing the model name from EPAD, I'm not sure........ I never saw a need to change that.

Widgetsoid seems to have a hot reboot option in which it skips the Acer boot screen and starts immediately with the bootanimation. SAVES A FEW SECONDS. HAVENT NOTICED ANY ILL EFFECTS WHEN IVE TRIED IT.
It has

Recovery
Bootloader

check the themes and apps forum for a thread with a modified build.prop for thor's rom.
you could also manually change the build.prop yourself

yeah, I believe what it does is some sort of cache dump and restarts the android system only. as far as I understand. but yeah, it should save a touch of time off a full boot. I think the most used option, or at least that,s important to me, is the boot to recovery option. a real lifesaver!!!!

[Q] Black Screen in the morning...

Howdy all!!
I'm currently running Franco Kernel r111 and the latest CM10.1 Nightly (20130327), and twice now I've woken up and my screen is black and won't turn on. The LED at the bottom is flashing a notification, but I can't wake the device. I have to hold the power button and then turn the device back on. The issue is, that I use this as my alarm clock, so it's made me late a few times now...
Is this the "SOD" that everyone is talking about? I think it's related to this most current nightly, as I've used r111 of Franco's Kernel along with the 23rd and 24th CM10.1 nightly and I didn't see the problem.
I guess my question is, is there something I can do to tell what is causing the crash? It's plugged into the charger, so could I run some app that will take a log that I can check the next morning if it should freeze?
Maybe you have undervolted too much, how much did you UV?. Try raising the voltage and see if that helps.

Frano default is stock voltages, it is noy UV`d. Then maybe there is an installed app or widget that is going crazy and causes fc`s.

That's why I was hoping someone knew of an app that might log things, so I can check after the reboot.

So, I assume I would do these steps:
1. When I wake up and notice that the device is "frozen", hold the power button to turn it off.
2. Boot the device into fastboot mode
3. Use ADB to pull the logcat
4. Reboot the phone normally
Forgive me, but I haven't used ADB to get a logcat, and I believe that if I do it after a reboot into the full OS, won't the new boot overwrite the logcat from the frozen state?

Sounds like the "SOD" issue many of us have. It's cause is currently unknown although turning WiFi off may prevent this from happening.

Ok, this is good to know... I've only JUST started to experience it in the most current CM10.1 nightlies... It happened to me once a while back with a CM10.1 nightly, but the update the next day fixed it, and never showed up again until recently.
same here!
Hey all! havin same issues here! ;( Dont know why is it happenin, and most important, why it only happens sometimes.... :silly:
I attached a logcat to molesarecomming and he told me it is some kind of driver mess up I've done a full wipe and going totally stock with no luck, IDK what to do....

Why don't you open a ticket with Google support and send them the logcat?
No when its frozen plug it in the computer and type adb logcat in the cmd window. A cmd window should pop up with your logcat.

The 1026MHz slot is UV'd by default on Franco kernel. Though that won't have anything to do with the OP's problem.

This made me LOL so hard...
In other news its definitely some combination of CM nightlies & Franco kernel. I'm now on the newest nightly and r116, and it didn't happen this morning.
When it happens again I will try the adb logcat and see what I can figure out.
Ok... So! I am running Franco Kernel r117 & CM10.1 Nightly 20130403... I had the black screen again for the first time in a few days...
I plugged the phone into my computer, started the Nexus Toolkit, and followed the options to pull a logcat over to my computer. The problem is, the screen stayed at "Waiting for Phone" for almost 15 minutes, and then I had to leave for work...
Any help here?
