but you can just unroot it by flashing stock rom via odin - no one would ever know

yes but if something happens to my mobile and i can't unroot it..? :/

well unless you have total hardware failure then you will be able to flash stock rom via odin and if you do have hardware failure no one would be able to tell it was rooted anyway cause the phone dont work and needs replacing

Recovery problems. ALL SORTED

ITS DONE AND DUSTED , I USED THE LINUX LIVE CD AND IT HAS WORKED.
Im tring to root my wildfire with unrevoked3 but it just says "pushing recovery image" and has been like that for 10mins, how long should it take?
Also before trying this I tried to install clockwork recovery with Rom manger only for it to reboot into recovery and quickly install maybe 25% then show a phone with a big red question mark then it reboots.
Also if I try to boot into recovery manualy I get a phone with a red triangle and a ! in it.
How can I fix the recovery?
in rom manager it says current recovery: clockwork mod 2.5.0.1
latest recovery: clockwork mod 2.5.0.1
Really need help , I want to jailbreak my ps3 , will donate if a DEV helps me.

It might be easier to root the phone and try this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1084184
you might also want to try and download a Third Party camera from the market.
however if you just go the phone and the camera is AWOL i'd return it.

Well if flashing the PD15IMG didn't work. 3rd party cameras aren't working sounds like the phone is physically defective. As far as just download and running VISIONary.apk it does root the phone but it doesn't keep s-off. And that is needed with most root options. Even it did work once you reboot the phone you would of lost everything.

i understand that there is an option to "root on boot" but once you turn off the device all of the /system files will return back to 100% stock. So once you turn off the phone it returns back to a 100% factory. there are no one click rooting options for this phone as of right now.

[Q] Deleted Bloatware.... I thought

First post on XDA so might as well be a noob mistake and cry for help. :crying:
So after rooting my GS4 I went through on Titanium Backup and deleted all the AT&T apps. Was careful not to delete anything that was related to Samsung. Shortly after went to use S Voice and now S Voice crashes saying "Unfortunately, S Voice has stopped".
I remembered deleting an app by the name of "attupdate..." and now when I go into settings to About device > Software update nothing happens when I click on that.
I made no back ups and can't find any option in Titanium to restore the file. Not sure what to do at this point.

I believe you are out of luck until we get a usable stock image. Unless someone can backup that particular app and send it to you for restore. I am not totally sure.

Lesson learned, OP and others? Before deleting anything, FREEZE them, especially when we don't have a way to go back just yet! With a phone this new and no ROMs available, I haven't deleted a single thing off of it, all my bloat has just been frozen

From what I have found online they havent released the firmware for the I337 GS4 yet only the I9500. I have it plugged into my computer and Kies sees it but doesnt let me do anything the firmware. It says "Your device's current firmware version is not supported to update firmware via Kies".
In recovery mode I get an error when I try to clear the cache partition. Though it does let me do the factory reset. When first booting after a factory reset I get an error saying Text-to-speech as stopped. Then after I name the device and check which options I want on it comes back saying Settings has stopped and kicks me back to naming the device. I have tried turning off all options (S Beam, etc.) and still the same.
Had I not done the factory reset I would still have a working device just without S Voice. Freezing vs uninstalling is for sure the better way to go about things, I just got ahead of myself. Now I have a cutting edge desk ornament until I can find a fix.

Yes that is exactly the idea......hope this helps.........
Sorry skimmed past our first question , you can freeze them by applying root , then installing an app called titanium back up from the market , I use the paid version , Pro. You can also disable apps without root by going to application manager ,all , then disable what apps you want to freeze , do a couple at a time and make sure apps you disable don't disrupt your phone then a few more and so on and so on..........

What he said.... but if you don't know what you're doing with this, chances are you SHOULDN'T be doing them! Just follow those steps and you shouldn't screw anything up, but if you get stuck, ask for help on the forum please and not in PM to just one person BEFORE going through with the step you are unsure of! We all weren't born with this knowledge and we're glad to help, but it doesn't help when you go and screw with stuff you shouldn't be just because the opportunity is there - if you don't know what you're doing, don't do it!
For those who don't know...You can also go to settings, more, application manager, all, touch the app you want to "freeze" and touch disable at top right...without root.

[Q] Disabling Apps

Hi everyone,
i bought my SGS4 in april,
And since then i have disabled some apps which i never use, and which used to keep running in the background to save battery,
I recently enabled them all, but theres no diff in power consumption
Does disabling app really freezes them?
If not how to get rid of the power usage by those apps?
I m not rooted, and dont want to root for another month or so ...

Root the phone and either uninstall them with Root Explorer or Titanium Backup or just freeze them with TB. You could also use this script based app called ROMCleaner from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2348256.

Unauthorised actions have been detected

Since switching back to stock lollipop firmware from a custom rom, I'm continuously seeing this message "Unauthorised actions have been detected" in my notification bar. When I open it, it takes me to smart manager where I've got an option of reboot. After rebooting it takes me to TWRP, nothing else happens after TWRP opens.
Any fix for that?

Hmm yes I'm thinking to go for android 4.3 now rather then 5.0.1.
Depending on the model of you phone, I'm not sure if you can downgrade to 4.3 from 5.01. If you can't, Odin should not flash the ROM.
