I have engineering SPL(.85.2007), stock is .86. Dont know about .76, never heard of it.
It depends on the root method you used. The "gfree" method leaves the stock bootloader in place (0.86) unless you follow the optional steps and flash the engineering bootloader (0.85). The "visionary" method flashes the engineering bootloader as a key part of the root process (when running the root.sh script). I've never heard of a 0.76 bootloader for the MT4G. Could it be from the Panache?
Aren't you supposedly a dev? If one could supposedly cook cough. .. cough... I mean code his own roms. Wouldnt one know the answer to that already?!!

its not anything new, they are releasing the source of the exploit they are currently using. Also, theres another thread talking about this, like 15 days ago
1st. I didn't create this ROM, just asked Kenia1234 what to change and did it.
2nd. Kenia1234 and myself WILL NOT BE HELD LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO YOUR PHONE!!!!!!!!
3rd. I9000 OP IS HEREhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1116161

This still has the button mapping problem and the auto rotation problem, If you know where a kernel(reoriented for HONEYCOMB on this device) is or someone that will make it ask them to do so, and post a link!(PLEASE!!!!!!!!!) Or make your own!
If coming from CM7/MIUI then just reboot into recovery and go to mounts&storage, wipe system, data, datadata, and cache, and flash GalaxyComb.zip !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If not follow instructions after download section.
Download the following Files-
1.- http://www.oozeroo.com/galaxycomb/captivatedownload.html OR http://www.multiupload.com/84KZ33WOUU (both the same, but show some love to the oOZerOo website )
2.- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1066885&highlight=MIUI OR http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=captivatemtd GET THE LATEST VERSION!!!!!!
3. Flash back to stock, if you don't know how- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731989

5. Reboot into recovery, go to mounts and storages, format system and data and datadata and cache.
6. Flash GalaxyComb.zip and enjoy!
7. Fix I9000 Issues by flashing Glitch v12b3 Captivate kernel!
awesomeee! cant wait!
There are the regular problems with a ROM ported from an I900 phone w/ out reoriented kernel. The volume only has one level, data, doesnt work, not reccomened for daily use right now, but if you want a taste of Honeycomb on ur Cappy, here yahh go!

How is that not answering the question? Your original question is if kenia lets OP take the credit for the port. OP's answer is that he is not taking credit, and he clearly gives kenia credit in the first post of this thread. /facepalm

You say in the instructions you can come straight from CM/MIUI, which is what he is asking.
Honestly, it would be a lot easier for them to just download the latest (or just any) CM nightly, and then install this over it. Less downloads, no Odin, just 2 installs and you're set.

You're gonna have to mess with the cid.xml files, and maybe even your backup cid.
I had to do that to change my phone from italian to english.
I''ll maybe write a simple guide for that tomorrow when I'm sober. Or you could come to the #g2root channel on freenode irc in ~9 hours and I can try walk you through it if I'm awake.

Can I suggest you guys also sort out any differences between different carriers, regions, etc in relation to the method being tested. For example, having a willing test user from the majority of regions. That way, if the method is found, we can know if it will work with all One variants or certain ones. Just something to think about.

However, these type of threads are for the devs to discuss this and keep it out of the dev boards until the method is found. We, as normal users, can contribute to their efforts by suggesting and testing if we are willing. However, if you have nothing to contribute to their effort, and the ultimate goal of this thread, then they kindly ask you to not post and just enjoy the reading when the dev part comes into play after release.

That has never been the point of these kinds of threads, these threads have basically been a way of keeping the "GIBE ME S-OFF PLS WHEN I WANT S-OFF" types out of dev threads.
People that actually know how to crack security post in the dev threads.

Sigs don't always tell the truth, just want to know
there are or were 2 ways of rooting a Wildfire [buzz] the latter you had to default to if the best one didnt work or wouldnt take on your revision - i have 2 wildfire one unrooted and the other rooted via the second method - i may try and brick the second one with this method - the only thing annoying about the Buzz is the 2SD to get any reasonable storage from it.

I think you're still in stock recovery. Try flashing CWM.
Find a PC49IMG.zip (look in development section) and copy to SD. Boot into the Bootloader, it'll detect the zip. Choose yes. it'll install it.
This will give you CWM recovery.
