Adobe and Qualcomm working to provide FULL Flash Support? - GT540 Optimus General

Great news for users of smartphones such as the Samsung Ace, Sony Ericsson and LG Swift X8. As reported Qualcomm on its official website, along with Adobe are already working on enabling the plug firing Flash content on smartphones equipped with the older processors that manufacturer. The reference is to a specific model, namely MSM 7x27 with 800MHz clock speed (although phones with a lower clock should not have problems with the operation of plug-ina).
Although Flash will continue to require the Android version 2.2 or higher, then there is nothing to worry about. Even if you upgrade to Froyo or Gingerbread does not provide us with the manufacturer, we have available to many custom ROMs that will allow us to enjoy acting plug.

Or no hope?

Very Good NEWS!
Now this is a very good thing! Flash for our phones, we all have swiftdroid and aosp 2.3 gingerbread to get this working. Our Processor is a 600 MHz Qualcomm MSM7227. Overclockable to 900mhz

Swift is like iphone 3gs in hardware ... flash should work nice there

Swift like 3gs?
arm11 600MHz vs cortex-a8 600MHz (downclocked from 800MHz)
adreno 200 vs SGX 535
CPU and GPU are around 3-4x faster than those in swift

I don't think this means Optimus will get Flash 10.1.
Here's press release from Qualcomm site.
http://www.qualcomm.com/news/releas...capabilities-across-multiple-tiers-qualcomm-e
The process mentioned seems to be a new processor that is yet to be release/just released.
http://developer.qualcomm.com/dev/chips/msm7x27-chipset-family
It says,
ARM11™ applications processor running at 600 MHz
ARM9™ processor running at 400 MHz
QDSP5000 high performance DSP running at 320 MHz.
ARMv9 is included here. It doesn't mean ARMv6. However, this appears to be a cheaper processor which would replace ARMv6. MSM7227 600MHz is mentioned nowhere in the article. Of course, you could try emailing the contacts listed at the bottom asking for details. xD

@nibras: no, u're wrong. Arm11 is armv6, while arm9 is older version of arm. Arm11 is instructions that introduced in armv6. Armv7 has arm cortex instructions. Just Google them. urself .
N how can u say our phone's processor isn't included? The web says msm 7x27, if u change the x to 2, Viola it's our phone's processor.

I know ARM11 is ARMv6.
My bad. I read the ARM9 as ARMv9, the next generation processors(instruction set). lol
Adobe maybe making the move finally. They are now allowing packaging flex apps for iOS 3.0 and upward.
But, Flash needs to die. It's in Google's hands. As soon as Google starts pushing HTML5 with Youtube, Flash will need to die.

Wildfire GPU - Games not sure what to think

OK here is the thing i have checked on many website of the wildfires specs and it doesnt say if it has a GPU and allot of forums say it doesn't then i popped on the well knows site GSM Arena and it updated to saying that the wildfire has a
528 MHz ARM 11 processor, Adreno 200 GPU, Qualcomm MSM7225 chipset
so it has a Adreno 200 GPU but why doesn't it run games like other phones is it because the CPU is slow ?
my ZTE racer has a 600Mhz CPU and the same GPU ( if this is correct )
and it plays games much better.

It is incorrect. I believe they have inadvertently mixed up the specs of the Wildfire S and the Wildfire. I say this because it is the Wildfire S which has the Adreno 200 GPU.
We wouldn't have got such poor performance in games, and incompatibility in 3D games if the Wildfire did have a GPU.
This should be in the general section, not dev
And as 3xeno said, that information is incorrect. the wildfire does not have a gpu.
I can third this. If the wildfire had a gpu angry birds would be playable

Nope. Then how did he already test games like Angry Birds on the WF S? Besides, the WF S has a 600 MHz Qualcomm MSM 7227 CPU, not the 7225.

Whoops, I answered in your other thread as well.
Anyhow, as I said, no, absolutely not. It runs perfectly fine, and, the only casualty as far as I can tell, is the battery, which seems to drain alarmingly fast when playing that, not too big an issue though, since it is to be expected.

I had to get it illegaly even if I own it on my Galaxy S II, I was unable to find it on the market from my SGT7.
I have test version 1.1 on My tab running ICS Alpha 3..and its work...^_^
Here the screenshot :
sweet!
Looks nice on ICS
Where do you get 1.1?
I got 1.0 via 4shared - I'm not unwilling, but hesitant rather, to spend $5 on an app that's currently known to be not working, and version unknown for the one on the market (if it appears for the Sprint 7 tab).
Very willing if it works, that's a cheap price for a big game. Anywhere to "try before I buy?" Usually that's an option with most games, sample or ad-supported version, etc.
thanks-
EDIT: Note I'm not running ICS, I'm not rooted, although that is in the cards at some not-far-future point. I just got this tab yesterday. Is your build a requirement? Looking to try this out on the stock Gingerbread - if it works, I'm glad to buy it for the cost of a Subway footlong.
It does work, many have confirmed it working. Just a bit laggy. So hopefully you can spare $5 to support development

Explain to me why the T30 or the T33 is crappy.
Thanks for the hasty reply.
Curious as to how Tegra 3s are bad. Must be that "its not the latest and greatest so its crap bro" mentality that has plagued the gadget world as of late....
I think people don't like it because it's proprietary and not open..?
the T30 version will be fine. same one used in the prime I believe. the one in the 300 is the T30L. this nexus 7 will be able to be easily overclocked also once rooted. thats if it has higher clock speeds in stock kernel but disabled. like in prime when it got ICS. might even be able to use the same EzOverclock apk install like on Prime.
is this using ddr2 or ddr3 ram? infinity pad uses new ddr3 ram with larger bandwidth frequency. over a ghz. I believe. compared to prime ddr2 which was around 540MHz. 300 has ddr3 but only slightly faster than prime memory. its still around 560 MHz also. I guess this lil 7in. would be fine with ddr2.

Install Ubuntu on your device — Now???

Is it just me, or does this Ubuntu release seem a lot like the Firefox Mobile project? How?
Well it seems that Canonical is trying to get mobile phone companies to actually adopt this OS rather than letting consumers install it on their devices, like what happens with Ubuntu Desktop OS.
Unless Canonical makes a really easy, simple way to install this on Android, I feel that this project will go the way of the dodo.
Unless of course, some awesome developers turn this into a custom ROM
It's going to be shown at CES (1/8-11/12), with the gnexus image being released soon. They've already said they want community members (it is open source after all) to help porting it to devices.
Now maybe a good time to get my feet wet with some of this fun stuff...the new Ubuntu and an extra One X floating around in my junk drawer.
Ubuntu for SmartPhones
I think its possible to port this in to most of the android phones after seeing the Ubuntu founder Mark Shuttleworth gives the Ubuntu phone OS demo on a GalaxyNexus which is a mainstream Android phone.

It is possible that later a developper changes it so it can be put on your phone but you will need to wait for that
Being sick of Google's and Qualcomm's disenfranchising my ARMv6 device, I am eager to try this baby. This is not an install over Android but a new OS but also Linux. I think that a Dalvik for this, such as the one for Sailfish/Meego, would be necessary for anyone to get into it. No one is going to install it in place of IOS or Windows. So our investment in the Android "ecosystem" would need protecting.
Android is opensource except for various "prebuilt" jni libraries. These are becoming increasing fatal exceptions.
So a complete opensource OS that one can compile for one's architecture would be most welcome. May Ubuntu will be this.
Minimally, the launcher (really, does anyone care what OS is under the hood?), would be a worthy port in itself!
I'm willing to port onto my HTC inc s with some help from the community.
Dead cookies leave no trails...
Same here for my LG P500 (but this phone is short on RAM for this, I am afraid).
Newer Linux Kernels should facilitate this since the Android mods have been incorporated and ARM devices explicitly supported.
