Hey as stated above I hear a minor static sound and wondering is there anyway to prevent this?
It isn't cool to hear as I hear less of the caller and the caller doesn't hear me but the statics. Happens by time by time...
Please help
It has happend to me also, but not during a call. I was hearing a sound for a while with some stops and then looping again. Restarting the phone fixed the problem.

I have already replaced, this one doesn't do as much as before I asked them why it does it at all. They give me the answer of that phone is receiving too much signals and can't handle it. I am not sure what I am supposed to get by that but I said okay, as this is my second replacement.
I had the same problem... sent it for replacement but the new one not only had the same mic problem but also burned pixels... sent that one for replacement too... I'm really dissapointed from this phone...

Hey guys, I have had my Touch HD for a little less than a month.
I am extremely happy with everything about it...
But a couple of days ago, I started experiencing a static type noise during calls only. It seems like there is an interference or something every time I place a call.
I have never dropped it since I got it so I know I didn't break anything.
I purchased a Squaretrade warranty when I bought the phone. Do you think that I should send it in? What do you think is the problem?
Is is it on incoming, out going or all calls? Have you tried using the headphones that the phone came with? Do you still hear the noise with those???
I am having the same problem. Is this a hardware or a software issue?
I am also getting some static interference noises on calls only , only had my phone under a week , would a firmware upgrade fix this or is this a hardware fault?

It is on both incoming and outgoing calls.
I tried the headphones that came with the phone and I don't hear static with them.
Also, when using the speaker phone, it does not make any static noises.
Any takers?
Yep mine has static too, it can help a bit to hold the device high up since the Aerial is at the bottom.
I had the same problem. Only heard the static when using the phone to my ear. Never when using a bluetooth headset or the speaker on the back. I tried several hard resets and phoned HTC. I've since sent the handset back. I'm waiting to hear if they are giving me a new handset or a refund as I had only had the phone for 5 days.
I done a load of searching and couldn't find anyone else with the same problem. HTC said it was a new problem to them but it looks as though there are a few of us.

Please keep us updated on what they have to say about your situation.
Hi,
Im still getting that static noises , Also getting it when im playing audio on windows media player , Ive also tried core player , still same , so it's not the windows software , I reckon could be a hardward fault.
i have a orange htc touch hd .
does any1 else get these noises when playing any audio ?
I'm thinking the problem is hardware related. Seems like something is loose, connectionwise.
Whenever I hear the static in call, and kind of jiggle the phone around or press the screen and back together it goes away for a little bit.
I am going to take advantage of my warranty I believe.
Well I dropped my phone today and it appears the static noises in call have disappeared.
Hehe well I'm not trying that one out I also have the statice noise in call but its only at one person and its always the same one :\
So maybe I should drop that person on the floor
Onboard Speaker noise / crackling
I've had my HD since Friday, and I'm having the same noise. I hear it as soon as I press send and intermittently during all calls. When it goes away, if I stay really still, I don't hear it till I move. Really irritating for an $800 phone. I called the guy at the phone store where I bought it and he told me to call HTC.
i have the same problem .. sometimes the noise disapear when i press on battery cover, anyone found a solution for that problem
This has been bugging me since i got the phone
If i am on my handsfree talking to someone, and get an incoming call waiting call, the person who i am talking to can no longer hear me. its a big problem
anyone have this problem/sort it out?
is no one else getting this?

My experience is that, when there is a call waiting call comes in, the speaker phone turns on by itself. You may check if you have the same situation. Your other side cannot listen to you because you are far away from your phone and the speaker phone cannot pick up your voice.
Here is the fix from the forum if your case falls into this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3336118

cheers mate thats sorted me out
Yes, I do have this rather strange issue.
It happens rather often that when someone calls me, I can hear the speak or their background sound prior to answering their call...
Indeed, one might think that this is a great bug, that could be turned into a feature, but it's rather awful thinking that one might hear me speak, before he answers my call...
Does anyone have any suggestions for this?

If you can hear what's going on at the other end of the line before you answer your call then you need to send your phone back to your manufacturer immediately.

could you please detail?
how would that help, since Vodafone will most likely exchange my phone to another HD2 which will probably have the same issue?
Moreover, in order to exchange, I'll need to demonstrate them this issue. And since it's not a regular-occuring issue (sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't), it will be hard to prove anything...

If you can hear what is going on at the other end of the line before you answer the phone (I assume you still have the ringtone at this point?) then that is a hardware failure and the phone needs to be replaced.
you could be paying for that time and as no-one else has the problem then your unlikley to get it as a recurrent fault on the next handset.

Got the same 'problem' I don't see it as a real problem though. You usually don't pay when you're the one getting called.

Agreed- if you can hear the other party before you 'answer' then it suggests the device is auto-answering. Once you can hear the other side, the line has connected regardless of whether you still hear the ringtone.
All WinMo devices have an 'auto answer' facility but it should only kick in when connected to a car kit, and even thgen only when specifically selected in Options.
This is not a common fault- indeed I've never heard of it before in any of my 8 years of supporting WM devices, so report it to Vodafone; at least it will then be on record that you have reported it.
Does anybody else have problems where the person you call hears them selves talk? There voice is echoing!
Does flashing a custom rom stop this or is it because of the Crystal Talk stuff?
Thanks
It is possible that you're using speakers and the voice is so loud that they actually hear themselves? If you have not flash a custom rom and you're on official rom then no, you should ask the company to look into this if you still have the warranty.

It's not on loud speaker and the volume is at the lowest point. I only got it on Thursday arranged for it to go back.
Does it do it everywhere? I have had problems with all of my tmobile phones on occasion. Not sure why. My last phone used to do it all the time. Very annoying. Only had it happen once with the defy in the last month.

Never had it before with any phone I have owned. It's seems to be worse when i'm outside when the wind is hitting the second mic, also when this happens it sort of makes it sort of sound like i've got my head in a box when I talk. Hope that makes sense? Iv'e tried all the call quality settings but it's still the same. It has to be this Crystal Talk Type or what ever it is..
Thanks for the reply guys.
Our of curiosity, while this is happening, have you tried opening the usb cover to see if that changes the sound. There is at least one report of a "pressurized" effect on the Defy (as it's sealed) causing sound issues, relieved when the ysb cover or battery cover are removed.

hhmmmmm interesting, I did think about the hands free speaker being behind the battery cover when I tried calling someone and they said it was terrible echo.
I'll go and try it and let you know.
Thanks

Hi,
I'm loving my OnePlus 5, but there is a strange behaviour with incoming calls. When the phone is ringing and vibrating, sometimes a really bad buzzing sound occurs every few seconds.
It doesn't happen with every call and I have absolutely no idea what's triggering it. I've thought about the vibration motor, but then it shouldn't only make that sound for some calls.
Anyone else with this issue?
Ok, I've done some tests and can easily reproduce the issue:
It happens when vibration is set to strong, like it is set default for calls, and the phone is lying somewhere. As soon as i touch the phone a little bit or take it in the hand, the sound stops. It cames definitely from the top (right?) of the phone.
It would be nice, if anyone could check if their phone makes the same noises. Either call your phone or simply go to vibrations settings.
I've made a video of the vibration sound on strong settings. Would anyone please be so kind to check it on his/her device? You can hear the strange noise pretty well.
OnePlus support told me it was normal.

Just tried on mine, doesn't have the issue, the support is clearly ****ing with you. If i had this issue, I would just get nuts

Thanks for your reply. I've set vibration to medium as a workaround. It would have been hard to believe every device is doing this ugly noise, especially since you hear it with standard settings for incoming calls.
Nevertheless I'd appreciate any further feedback wether his/ her device is affected or not.
Bro, I'd like to know if this issue got fixed for you? I am commenting because I started noticing this too.

I had to RMA the phone. Unfortunately it's the only solution.
I have 2 days left before my 10-day-replacement policy is over. You're saying, your replacement device doesn't have the issue?
