hi there.
ive bought a refurbed hero from "3" uk, however it doesn't boot. it wont go into recovery either (home+pwr).
it will go into the fastboot though (pwr+back).
the phone connects to the pc, and the pc finds the phone using "fastboot devices" and "adb devices".
i tried flashing a custom RA recovery, however i received the message "failed remote not allow".
googling it, i found out it is because of the hboot being 1.76....... which needs flashrec to install a custom recovery. problem is i cant boot the phone to use flashrec.
basically is the phone screwed?
ive called 3 and they are sending a replacement on monday. i will then have to send the old one back to them myself, meaning ive got a few days to make sure the new one works etc, check condition.
thing is the one i have now is perfect and new looking. i could receive a slightly damaged working one on monday, so i want to see if there is anything i can do to fix it.
thanks for any help
What happens when you try to boot up normally? ... Anything?
How about without the SD in?... Does it make a difference?
when i boot up normally, it displays a thin "hero" logo, then after a while displays a htc logo with a green alien popping out.
a minute after that, it starts all over again until the battery is pulled.
tried with and without an sdcard, and no difference.
Flash a new official rru from HTC. If you can't do that you should be able to create a goldcard and flash a the rru that way. Check out parts of my guide and make up the rest.
i just got it sorted.
i downloaded the ruu, tried it while in fastboot mode. it didnt work, so i looked through your goldcard thread, and realised i hadnt got adb setup 100% (device manager had it down as android device or something, so did as instructed in the thread).
connected it up to the pc while in fastboot mode, then ran the ruu. it worked this time!
thanks alot for the help. its saved me alot of hassle sending the phone back.
This is what happens :
1. When I normally turn my N7 on , it goes throught the google logo and gets stuck on the ROM logo .
2. I can get into the bootloader when the USB is plugged off , but i cant get into recovery it just gets stuck on the google logo .
3.If I plug my USB in while in the bootloader the bootloader gets stucked and i cant move around in it or flash anything , but my PC recognize that an android device is connected . (if i get into the bootloader when the USB is allready connected it gets in the bootloader main screen but i cant move) .
So i cant flash , get into the rom or return to stock .
ANY IDEAS ?? please help me :crying::crying:
Bump
Definitely not bricked since of powers on. Fastboot flash the stock image and you should be good as new.

Strange, it shouldn't make a difference whether your USB is plugged or not when trying to get to the recovery.
If you get into the fast boot menu or "boot loader main screen" and you press the volume down button a few times you get no response? Sometimes it takes a few seconds for mine to switch to recovery, etc.
Also, what caused your tablet to get stuck in that state?

If I press the volum dowm bottom while on fast boot menu I can move around the menu if the usb is plugged off , but I can only shutdown or restart the fastboot since the start and recovery options just gets stuck on the google/rom logo if it is plugged in I just gets stuck in the menu and I cant even scroll . yea I waited about half an hour on the google logo trying to get to my recovery and nothing happened .
I JUST DONT KNOW WHAT I DID ! I really dont ! I am an experienced flahser and had been so for almost 2 years now ! I just left my N7 on the table and didnt touch it at all for a week and when I tried to turn it on after that I just got that prob . but I did nothing related to flashing or so - it just happened by staying at the table !
any help ?? PLEASE
I CANT RETURN TO STOCK , if i plugg in the usb fastboot gets stuck .
have you tried charging it on the wall charger to make sure the battery has got a full charge, don't know, just throwing out options
Hmmm, well at least you're able to boot the tablet and get to fastboot menu so its not a hard brick. Sounds like a corrupted partition of sorts if you can't get into ROM or recovery. Someone with more expertise might have a possible solution. I wouldn't lose hope yet.
yes , i did charged it to full batt .
i can get into fastboot but not rom or recovery and when i plugg in usb i have no fastboot , doesnt that mean i wont ever be able to flash ?
if i will make a vid of the prob it will help ?
Get to boot loader and do
fastboot flash recovery C:\File path to recovery on computer
Once you have a recovery installed you can push a ROM to your Nexus via adb.

Or you can always use wugfreshs toolkit and click flash back to stock option and check device won't boot, the same thing happened to me awhile ago and the bootloader problem is cause you have the old bootloader the knew 4.13 bootloader fixed that

i've had good luck with mskip's toolkit in a similar situation

It says you can get to the boot loader with the cable unplugged. So get to the boot loader and then plug in the USB.

Are you kidding ? "3.If I plug my USB in while in the bootloader the bootloader gets stucked and i cant move around in it or flash anything , but my PC recognize that an android device is connected ."
I really appreciate any kind of help, but why even write and answer when you didnt even fully read the question ?

Lol just calm down man we're all just trying to help you!
Now, you need to get your N7 into the bootloader, it does not matter if you can't navigate the bootloader on your N7. Once in the bootloader, connect the N7 to your computer with the USB cable.
Once you're connected, make sure you've downloaded the Android SDK and open a command prompt. Navigate your command prompt (make sure you ran that command prompt as administrator) to the "platform-tools" directory.
Once in the platform-tools directory run the following command without quotes:
"fastboot devices"
It should return the serial number for your device, indicating that fastboot sees your N7 and can work with it.
After that type
"fastboot flash recovery *.img"
You'll need to head to clockworkmod.com to download the N7 recovery image. Place the downloaded image in the platform-tools directory and replace "*.img" with the filename of the recovery image you downloaded.
That's it! Unplug your N7 and go into recovery, and sideload whatever ROM you want!
Let us know how it goes!
PS: If fastboot devices shows nothing, we have a bigger problem...

Its hard to be calm then you new N7 is dying :/
somthing like this ? (pic attached)
If i did everything like you said it means i do have the bigger prob help me!
OK. Next thing is to ensure your N7 is properly detected in Windows.
Just head to the device manager. You should see Original Android Interface or something along those lines.
Report back with a screenshot, those are very helpful!

Here you go (attached) ! you have everything you need mate ?
I really appreciate the help ! :good::good:
I had similar issues and was able to get back to stock using WugFresh's Nexus Root Toolkit. Highly recommended!
From the same command Window, in the same platform - tools directory, does adb devices show your device?
I'm not the lowest of the low, but I am the slowest of the slow.
So, i tried flashing the lollipop upgrade with flashfire and bricked my phone.
When I boot s4 into bootloader mode it says
" SAMSUNG custom" with a unlocked paddle lock. then next screen says "exclamation mark in Yellow triangle" underneath; System software not authorized by AT&T has been found on your phone......
When I boot my s4 into Downloading mode windows gives me this...
"the last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it"
(all computers I've tried, different cables, different ports)
I know many people have asked this same question, but I've tried all the options.
after looking up usb Code 43 Error, the Samsung driver is telling windows that the device is malfunctioning.
is ther anyone who can help me?
K so from what I read quickly uve installed a non Loki patched kernel? Or non stock kernel and u cant get computer to see the phone? You could try loading up the stock kernel or a lokied one u know works on an SD card if u have one and flash threw recovery. I read one guy was able to get in to recovery after multiple trys so u might wanna try that. I'm just going off of what I've read I'm a lucky one and don't have to deal with a locked bootloader so I might be just blowing smoke just an idea.

Hello as per many topics on xda, you as well soft bricked you phone I suggest you didnt enable OEM or flashed wrongly CWM. However you need to do a full recovery. Go step by step on tbis guide, working 100%
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-2/general/guide-unbrick-recover-oneplus-2-to-t3269543
my phone is everything first off and i cannot do any thing erecovery cant do anything because im on unoffical 90nrdm os when i try do anything i adb it cannot find my device and just says waiting for device when trying to lock bootloader in fastboot mode so i tried unlocking it (i got the code) but it says s"FAILED stat does not match" and i cannot flash anything to fix my phone and i cannot find the huawei page to unlock my bootloader because it keeps saying " this id is registered on the other site" but never tells me where to go or find the "other site" bootloader unlock page i really need my phone to work resetting it is fine i got back ups but i really need the phone to work all help is welcome, i have adb and fastboot installed i tried useing srk tools 2.0 lod-chong and also cmd to try fix my issue but i get no where. i have no recovery either it just wont boot into twrp it just goes straight to erecovery so i cannot do any dload method. also when i tried other methods it said password wrong for some reason.
i flashed oeminfo.bin and custom.bin to go back to offical nougat from somewhere after this update nougat didnt work (hisuite refused to install it) : http://ministryofsolutions.com/2017/03/huawei-p9-lite-vns-l31-nougat-b371-update-stable-europe.html so i then looked into downgrading and got to this https://forum.xda-developers.com/hu...nt/europe-vns-l31-toolkit-bootloader-t3432873 and i did the oem info flash and it like the person said on my previews post ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p9lite/help/bricked-device-dont-how-to-fix-l31-t3617851) and it just like he said but i did it before he commented and now my phone wont boot and when i enter my bootloader code it says FAILED stat does not match and because i cannot re lock and unlock my boot loader i cannot flash anything to get my phone back, how can i fix this.
