[HOWTO] Clear custom ringtones from contacts - Atrix 4G General

This has been a huge bane for me after setting custom ringtones to a few of my contacts. Once you assign a custom contact, there does not seem to be a process to CLEAR the setting, just to change it to something else. You will need a sqlite editor on your phone in order to do this. Search the market for one.
So, first thing is finding the sqlite DB where your contacts are stored. On the Atrix 4G the sqlite DB file is stored in: /data/data/com.motorola.blur.providers.contacts/databases/contacts2.db
Use Root Explorer to navigate to that path and open the DB with the sqlite editor.
There are primarily two tables you will need:
1. contacts
2. raw_contacts
First open the contacts table and scroll to the right until you see the column heading/field name: custom_ringtone
Scroll down until you find a record that has any text in the field (not a null field). Write down the number in the field labeled _id and name_raw_contact_id and hit the back button to return to the list of tables. Now open the raw_contacts table and tap the menu button. Select set filter and change the field to filter on from the drop down list to _id. In the filter value, enter the number you wrote down from the name_raw_contact_I'd field from the contacts table and tap the OK button. This will load up the contact that has a custom ringtone. Scroll all the way to the right until you see the field name 'display_name'
If this is the contact you wish to remove the custom ringtone from, great! Hold down on the record and tap on edit record. Scroll down until you see the custom_ringtone field and remove the text in that field. Now, go back to the contacts and find the original record by tapping menu again, set filter, choosing the _id field in the dropdown menu and then entering the number from _id. Hold down on the record and tap on edit record again and scroll down and clear the text in the custom_ringtone text field (it should be the same as from the raw_contacts table). Once you hit save, the custom ringtone will have be cleared from the contact.
Now, if someone can write an app for this or something, that would be AMAZING!!

Selecting Multiple Receipients when sending txt msg

Hi, This is an easy one but couldn't find anything in the forum searches probably wrong key words, but how do you select multiple receipient when sending a txt msg without having the need to go back to menu - add receipient - there has to be an easier way?
Thanks
After you enter the first receipient, just start writting the name of the secondone in the field To, a list will be displayed with your contacts list, just select the one you want; go ahead untill you have added all the contacts you want.
Hope this help ...
Regards
You can also press select (d-pad center) immediately after selecting a contact while you are in the TO field and it will take you back to your contacts where you can search.

Extending WINMO Dialer

I'm trying to add a custom menu entry to the pocket outlook contact list so that i can do my own thing when a user with a pager number is selected.
At the moment i have this working, if you select a contact with a pager number and then press the menu softkey you see my menu entry, if the selected contact does not have a pager number my menu item is disabled.
All good now my problem is i'd like to change the text of the left softkey that normally says "call" or 'Send text msg" to my own custom
message.
I would even like to intercept when the contact "details" item is selected.
This is all on wimo 6/6.1
thanks for any help.

MP3 Ringtone for each contact?

I just figured out how to set mp3 ringtones for the Sony Xperia... but I'm wondering if there is a way to set a different ringtone for each contact in my phonebook ??
Yes open the contact and scroll to the bottom
I opened up the contact, and it shows their name , call, and send text message only. When choose "edit" to edit the contact, I can only change their name and number. Can you be more specific please ?
When I edit a contact I have 20+ things I can change about that one person. One of those is 'Ring tone'. Might be some of the SPB software adding it but I doubt it....
Ohh, ok thanks! I found it in the SPB panel, but it's not there in the windows mobile contact for some reason..
I think it depends on how you have the contact saved. The option to add a ringtone to a contact might only be available if the contact is saved to the phone, not the sim card.
search for vippimringtone

On my X1, this is how i get to do it.
1) open contacts from start menu.
2) select the contact to edit. You should now see a screen with options like call mobile, call home, etc
3) click onthe name of the contact, and you should now see a screen with a lot of options for that contact.
4) scroll down until you see the option for ring tone. now click in the text space for the ringtone drop down selection box.
Hope this helps. There are also a lot of other useful options to be found on that screen, like setting pictures for contact. birthday reminders, etc.

How increase the number of SMS recipient to be shown in "TO:" field

how to increase the number of SMS recipient to be shown when I type some letters in the "TO:" field? Currently it automatically shows only 3 contacts to choose from.
I already change both the font of compose & read from 11 to 8 by using registry tweak
even the Screen text size already changed to the smallest under Settings
and used the "E-mail" program icon rather the "Messages" icon in the honeycomb menu
Its still showing 3 drop down recipients only.
Found the solution
Use any Reg Editor
HKLM/System/inbox/RecipientAutoComplete/MaxSuggestions
changed the DWORD Data value to any number you like i.e. 15

highlight numbers to call

in an sms message, potential phone numbers are underlined. and tapping on it will give you the option to call these numbers. however, this option is not present for numbers located inside contacts or calendar entries.
is there a program that can do this?
