Hi, This is an easy one but couldn't find anything in the forum searches probably wrong key words, but how do you select multiple receipient when sending a txt msg without having the need to go back to menu - add receipient - there has to be an easier way?
Thanks
After you enter the first receipient, just start writting the name of the secondone in the field To, a list will be displayed with your contacts list, just select the one you want; go ahead untill you have added all the contacts you want.
Hope this help ...
Regards
You can also press select (d-pad center) immediately after selecting a contact while you are in the TO field and it will take you back to your contacts where you can search.

I tried WebIS Mail but after uninstall something broke. When i try to get a name to send an SMS to, I start writing the first few letters and then I get a couple of names to choose from. Before WebIS Mail I could simply tap the name I wanted, but now nothing happens when I tap. Now I have to tap the vcard icon and choose name. Is there some registry setting that is fu**ed up?
hi im new to WM5, i used to have a nokia smart phone. i wanted to know how i can send sms messages to muliple mobile phones quickly. without having to continually going through my contact list and selcting each one, one at a time. thanks.
At the "To" line, type the name (or some letters) of the first person, select the contact from the list that appears, press enter, a ";" appears after the name, which means you can enter another contact after that.
Good luck with the Windows Mobile Experience!
re: send sms messages

So i changed from the 8125 to the wing and I have discovered it is much more difficult to send a new text message. You have to go through like 5 different commands...(open the message bar, select text message account, tap menu, scroll to new, scroll to sms) it just seems so tedious so i was wondering if anyone knows of a way to make it so i can have new message be one of my soft key choices (preferably where the delete soft key is). Its really annoying.
Thanks BP
How about when you install the HTC Home plugin, I HAD one until i bricked my phone yesterday :'( it came with the PDAVIET rom which was released some time ago.
What it does is, it shows on the Today screen a link to Email and one to SMS.
That's probably the fastest way.
Cheers
how 'bout putting the command "new sms" under a softkey ?
Or simply install the program "name" (sorry forgot the name) that puts a "New" menu at your left soft-key in the today screen, from there you can choose sms, e-mail, mms etc.. Just search for New menu
Press Contacts softkey. Scroll to the intended recipient. Tap, hold, pick "Send Text Message". Type text message. Press Send softkey.
What's the problem?
How About VIJay?
Hello,
I use VijaySMS All the time... It allows you to make a shortcut (I use SPB Today so I create the shortcuts in there) that either starts a blank SMS or start one to a specific contact. You can find the program at Vijay's webpage here: http://www.vijay555.com/
Enjoy!
You could set up the Message button to automatically go to your SMS Inbox when you press it.
Messaging Inbox > Menu > Tools > Options...
Select Text/SMS and uncheck "Display account picker when opening Messaging." This will automatically open your SMS Inbox, thus eliminating the first two steps of your problem.
When a new text msg comes to ur msg inbox folder from an unknown number which is not there in ur contacts list and now i want to store that number. How to do as there is no option to store the new number.
Go to "start", "settings", "personal", "phone", "advanced"......tic box new phone number......
Not 100% sure it does the job when receiving an SMS....and phone number must be visible ofcourse.....not hidden
This is helpful when u get a call from unknown number and you can save it, but it will not work out when u get a sms from unknown number
Tap on the Number from the message view and it shows you the option - Save to Contacts.
Its still not working
When i tap on the msg in msg view i am not getting "Save to Contacts" options
I am getting options like "Delete" "Reply" "Reply to all" "Forward" "Move"
I am using HTC Touch 2 phone.
I use the same phone, Ganesh and I am able to do it.
When you open the msg to read - It shows you the heading on the top line -
Conversation with XXXXX.
The next line reads -
XXXXX (TIME): actual msg displays here.
Now if you click on the second line which shows you the number & time; that will take you to the options of saving address: (in this case the number)
1. Send Email from Outlook
2. Search Address Book
3. Save to Contacts
On clicking the Save to Contacts, it takes you to another screen to add as a new contact or update existing contact.
I am getting it now
I was tapping and holding it for a while so i didnt get the "Save to contacts" options
I just need to tap once and i am getting "Save to Contacts" options
Thanks a lot dude
Glad to be of help.

Hi, does anyone know how to change back the option for a contact where I accidentally put someone instead of a phone number for their text option, I placed an email address for one of the 5 favorite people on the edge screen options. Then I chose for all times instead of one time only which would be able to ask again next time. I dont see any place where I can reset the default option. Now can I click on that person to send a text, it automatically populates an email address instead of a phone #.
Thanks,
Bill
Do you mean if you go in to Contacts, select the contact in question. Tap "More" top right and choose "Mark Default". This allows you to choose the default number.
Thanks Chris, that did the trick
