Extending WINMO Dialer - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

I'm trying to add a custom menu entry to the pocket outlook contact list so that i can do my own thing when a user with a pager number is selected.
At the moment i have this working, if you select a contact with a pager number and then press the menu softkey you see my menu entry, if the selected contact does not have a pager number my menu item is disabled.
All good now my problem is i'd like to change the text of the left softkey that normally says "call" or 'Send text msg" to my own custom
message.
I would even like to intercept when the contact "details" item is selected.
This is all on wimo 6/6.1
thanks for any help.

My contacts list remains on the screen, please help

I am trying to send text messages using my XDA IIs and things are not working. When I select "to" in the outlook window, "my contacts" list shows up, I then select a contact, but the list remains on the screen preventing any text entry. Any ideas?
Press the little "contacts" icon to the right of My Text at the bottom of the screen, this puts the contacts list away (or pops it up).
Thanks mate, so simple.

Selecting Multiple Receipients when sending txt msg

Hi, This is an easy one but couldn't find anything in the forum searches probably wrong key words, but how do you select multiple receipient when sending a txt msg without having the need to go back to menu - add receipient - there has to be an easier way?
Thanks
After you enter the first receipient, just start writting the name of the secondone in the field To, a list will be displayed with your contacts list, just select the one you want; go ahead untill you have added all the contacts you want.
Hope this help ...
Regards
You can also press select (d-pad center) immediately after selecting a contact while you are in the TO field and it will take you back to your contacts where you can search.

Anyone know a faster way to send sms text message

So i changed from the 8125 to the wing and I have discovered it is much more difficult to send a new text message. You have to go through like 5 different commands...(open the message bar, select text message account, tap menu, scroll to new, scroll to sms) it just seems so tedious so i was wondering if anyone knows of a way to make it so i can have new message be one of my soft key choices (preferably where the delete soft key is). Its really annoying.
Thanks BP
How about when you install the HTC Home plugin, I HAD one until i bricked my phone yesterday :'( it came with the PDAVIET rom which was released some time ago.
What it does is, it shows on the Today screen a link to Email and one to SMS.
That's probably the fastest way.
Cheers
how 'bout putting the command "new sms" under a softkey ?
Or simply install the program "name" (sorry forgot the name) that puts a "New" menu at your left soft-key in the today screen, from there you can choose sms, e-mail, mms etc.. Just search for New menu
Press Contacts softkey. Scroll to the intended recipient. Tap, hold, pick "Send Text Message". Type text message. Press Send softkey.
What's the problem?
How About VIJay?
Hello,
I use VijaySMS All the time... It allows you to make a shortcut (I use SPB Today so I create the shortcuts in there) that either starts a blank SMS or start one to a specific contact. You can find the program at Vijay's webpage here: http://www.vijay555.com/
Enjoy!
You could set up the Message button to automatically go to your SMS Inbox when you press it.
Messaging Inbox > Menu > Tools > Options...
Select Text/SMS and uncheck "Display account picker when opening Messaging." This will automatically open your SMS Inbox, thus eliminating the first two steps of your problem.

highlight numbers to call

in an sms message, potential phone numbers are underlined. and tapping on it will give you the option to call these numbers. however, this option is not present for numbers located inside contacts or calendar entries.
is there a program that can do this?

[Q] Forwarding Texts - Where are my contacts?

So I had received text message that I wanted to forward. I pressed and held the text, selected "Forward" from the menu, and I get the "to" box and the body, but where are my contacts? I can't select a contact to fwd the message to, can you?
Tapping the "to" box just brings up swype, and taping the little contact icon does nothing.
Help!
update--- okay, so apparently the samsung messaging app on this phone sucks, but fwd'ing happened to be my first run in with it. When I click on messaging from the home screen, then "compose new" @ the top, I can't select from a list of contacts. Instead, I have to start typing out the name of who I want to send it to in the "to" field and find them in the drop down autofill list. Also, the name that appears at the top next to the "contact" icon only shows the first name entered.
So, it would appear this is more along the lines of an annoyance with their program than a bug. Can anyone confirm these issues? Is it maybe just that my contacts aren't synced correctly or something?
