I dont think u have to install custom rom? not sure, but u probably might have to go on backup/restore and restore the floyo 2.2.1.

if you do backup and restore with xrecovery don't full wipe that will make your phone stuck on SE logo.

Hello everybody.
I have installed Swiftdroid 2.0 M6 on my GT540.
Today I would like to SIM unlock my phone. But I read that with Swiftdroid we can't access hidden menus needed to unlock the phone.
Does a solution exist to enable hidden menus ?

What i'd recommend is that you go back to 2.1, unlock your phone, and then restore back to 2.3.
Here is a simple way, it also lets you keep all of your 2.3 ROM and Data
Download my 2.1 Recovery Backup from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1110537
put the V20Ebackup folder on your SDCard in the: clockworkmod>backup folder.
Boot into recovery (Home+Power) and go to Backup and Restore and press "Backup" let the backup process finish, then go to "restore" and pick the "V20Ebackup" folder let it restore then "Wipe Data/Factory reset" (Don't worry, your data is saved in the backup you made earlier) reboot your phone, and then unlock it. Boot back into recovery and then go to "Backup and Restore" and choose and choose "Restore" choose the one with the latest date, then you will be unlocked and back on 2.3
Hope it helps,
Jack
Thanks for your answer.
So, I need to come in 2.1 version.
But, I can't use the clockwork recovery because I lost it when I did my first update. I can only change my ROM with fastboot.
Is it possible to come back to official LG ROM with fastboot ?

Just flash recovery again using fastboot or yaffsexpert.

Sorry I don't explain my problem correctly.
I think the clockwork recovery is well installed, but when I did my first update (2.1 LG official ROM), I lost my boot animation, it's a well known problem, so today I can only change my ROM with fastboot.
So does a solution exist to come back in 2.1 stock ROM ?
Hello everybody,
I tried JackG256's method but when I want to restart with the v20E backup rom, I get a boot loop on the LG logo.
How can I fix this problem ?
Thanks

boot into recovery and do a factory reset and also wipe dalvik cache.

I tried these two solutions but I still have a boot loop : LG logo appears and then the phone restarts and again...
Any others ideas ?
Do a full wipe or try different kdz version I went with v20d

The problem always exists, I did a full wipe and it continues to restart after LG's logo, it doesn't want to load the ROM.
I don't understand what is the problem.
I hope someone could help me....
"Have you tried turning it off and on again?" I'm joking. Here's an idea. Try flashing a fastboot rom in download mode(no battery, no sim, nothing - plug in phone holding vol-down) , if you haven't got one already, and then go into fastboot, connect phone and execute "fastboot -w". That should wipe it right up. For the problem with the black screen recovery, and loading see here. I know G translate makes it pretty much gibberish, but it's not that hard to understand. Here are the links to mentioned files:
V20a.kdz
Out.kdz
I hope this helps.
I've fixed the backup, you should be able to restore now, just download the new version.

what i do whenever i install a rom:
1. download the rom from the FroyoBread tread
2. copy the .zip file to sd card/xrecovery/backup
3. Reboot into xrecovery
4. make a backup of my current rom
5. once backup has finished do a full wipe, then wipe cache, then wipe dalvik cache and finally battery stats
6. install custom .zip go to where i put the froyobread .zip file and install it
7. repeat stage 5
8. reboot phone
9. leave it for a little while, the first boot always takes a while, then after so long you should go through the boot animation and so on so forth.
hope this might help

Boot Loop Problem

Hello, I did this:
YouTube:
/watch?v=Euafsq5KkCU
Within the xRecovery menu, I did:
- A backup of existing OS
- Wipe of all user data
- Flash GingerDX 2.3.7.
- Reboot
It worked! For the first time, there was root access. Later on, when the system was still up, Titanium Backup didn't recognize root status, although I have granted it earlier.
So I tried to reboot and then I was stuck in a boot-loop. Rien ne va plus.
It feels like that SuperOneClick gives root only temporarily. Later on I find it out that can depend on the Baseband:
"If you are stuck in a boot loop it's because you have got an old baseband xxx006"
(androidforums.com/x8-all-things-root/391956-rom-v017-upgrade-gingerdx-2-3-doixanh.html)
So I used the linked Baseband flash tool (X10flasher.jar), it did his job, and then there appeared "Reboot, set up Debug mode etc."
But how I should do that? Turn on and pressing the back button momentarily doesn't work as well (like there was no root / xRecovery installed). I cannot do anything!
Is there a tool and command like "runindos.bat" that was also for the HTC Hero? Some time ago, this helped me with my HTC Hero because I could enter Recovery menu, but now I'm having a X8 to do that procedure.
I think your best solution would be to restore Stock 2.1 through PCC (PC Companion) or SEUS (Sony Ericsson Update Service).
Once you're back on the stock ROM verify you're running on baseband 015 (Menu Key in the Home Screen -> Settings -> About Phone - in German: Menü Taste im Home Screen -> Einstellungen -> Über das Telefon)
You're looking for "Baseband Version" ... the LAST three digits are supposed to read 015. If they DO read 015 you're running on the required baseband, if they are reading 006 you need to update.
EDIT: If everything's working again: root your phone, install ClockWorkMod Recovery, copy the ZIP of GingerDX onto your SD card, reboot into CWM, flash GDX v017, Full Wipe, reboot.

During the CWM installation within the app I have to choose a device. There's everything except of Sony Ericsson devices...
You must install CWM manually, not through Rom Manager. Search in Android Development for some info.

Yap, you can't install CWM through ROM Manager on the X8 ...
Either use X8 Toolbox or search the forums for "Dual Recovery Mini Pro" (if memory serves me right); should work on the X8 as well. Edit: ClockworkMod Recovery 3.2.0.0 ported by nobodyAtall <-- That's what I had in mind
Thinking about your initial post for a moment ...
Any chance you caused the boot-looping by flashing GDX v017 through xRecovery (wrong way!) instead of through CWM (right way!)?

Hello IROC_69
Thanks in advance for the answers.
I did exactly the steps you describe. First I tried with the Froiobread xrecovery gingerdx and then tried to CWM. Both were frozen on the logo. I thought it might be very small memory card. I find no other explanation.
I already did restore everything and everything is operational. My question is to know why I can not install any room with the steps described in the forum
install rom and do full wipe (factory reset) in recovery menu

I have installed the CWM, can i update the rom with gingerdx?
After installing the ROM is that I do the full wipe?
How much space do I need on my memory card?
What kind of format should have the card? NTFS or FAT32?
greetings
yep, install rom and than full wipe
Now it's good. Thank you very much
Need your help to solve another problem

Flashing Boot.img doesn't boot the phone

Hey folks
Tried to flash this boot.img from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2018822&highlight=boot+img
to flash JB ROM and it has stucked on 'Free Xperia' logo when turning on. Had to flash stock kernel back. This .img is necessary for flashing the rom according to steps manual.
Any help please why this could happen?
Cheers!
Look for a more stable ROM that ROM is still in the Alpha stages. There are many on here

First time installing CyanogenMod 10.1 to Arc/S another ROM:
- Make sure you're running bootloaders unlocked
-Flash the Boot.img provided (Don't flash other boot.img because is different)
- Copy GApps and CM10.1 ZIPs to your internal SDCard
- Boot into Recovery
- Flash CM10.1 zip from internal SDCard
- Flash GApps zip from internal SDCard
- DO A DATA WIPE / FACTORY RESET (otherwise your device will be stuck at boot)
- Reboot
- Don't restore system data using Titanium Backup!
- Restoring Apps + Data might cause problems and is not recommended, avoid it if possible!

Try in this order, flash the kernel, reboot into CMW, wipe cache, data and battery, install ROM, reboot, flash gapps and reboot again.
thanks. my question is, how do I reboot into CWM, when after flashing the kernel, my phone is stucked on the logo? I must be missing something...

I thought I had the same problem, but all u need to do is wait. It stays on the fxp screen for ages, maybe 30 seconds once it lights up then start pressing vol down to get into recovery.

To enter CWM, you need to press the power button, when phone vibrates, press Volume Down button many times until a Recovery menu appears.
Only possible if you have custom kernel installed (if it has one).
