Hi Kuzaima,
I think that the one with the 'extra' mic is from Asia or a different region. I have seen a side by side image of them somewhere......may even have been on XDA.
Regards

Mental.
Now I know why there is such a delay with getting these repaired... what a PITA they are to take apart.

Awesome. I've been on here since '06 and have seen it said so many different ways, but that is by far the most inventive.
I did do that. Unfortunately until now I did not see a video actually showing how to remove the track ball just how to take the device apart, Thanks

[Q] htc logo on back of phone

Hi all, the "h" from the htc logo on the back of my legend has come off. A trivial thing but annoying, it's now just an "h" shaped dent with a couple of glue holes. The metal "h" is now somewhere in Greater London
The phone's still under warranty but wondering if this was a common issue?
I have seen it before but not sure how common, try sending it back!
Well somebody already mentioned this problem. But his was the 'C'. Its not that common but it does happen.
I make up the trio - I've lost the 't' from the back of mine. It hasn't been through any major falls or anything so it's probably something they'd fix under warranty.
I've noticed mine sounds like there's something moving if I give it a fairly hard tap where the rubber around the camera is; I don't know if that's how it's always been though.
Crazy, I looked at mine after reading your post and I'm missing the h now as well. Wonder how long ago it fell off...

Yes! I've noticed that too since day one. The hell is it?

YEah I have that too; I think it's the AF lens?
It's the autofocus. Same "klick" as when it is focusing on cam app mode.

[Q] Can i replace a HTC Desire Z / G2 LCD screen with a Desire S one?

As the question states can i do so?
I see both have same screen resolution, screen type and size, what am not sure of is if the bus connector is in the same position.
I can't get a Desire Z screen from my where i am right now because they arent available at the moment(and not sure when they will), what's available is that of the Desire S. I cant order from the internet either because that would mean i would have to wait till January to get it
Can someone confirm if it will work? I'm a little desperate and need the phone working as soon as possible. Please help
Not sure really look up teardowns and see if it even looks similar, I imagine the ribbon cable itself and placement location might be different. Have you tried searching here and google? I'm curious to know since I repair smart phones, but I've never used a screen from another phone like that.

Things arent looking so good. The screens seem to be similar but the connectors are different.
I'll link pictures as soon as I find a clear one for a Desire S screen
Figures oh well, that sucks

Not entirely. Just found out that it shares an LCD screen with the HTC 7 Mozart.

HTC One tiny gap between casing

Afternoon all,
So yeah I'm loving this phone greatly, but I've noticed something horrible for a phone so well made.
If anyway else owns one can you please check if your headset has a tiny gap ( Im really do mean tiny gap) between the front metal casing and
the cream looking plastic band around the phone. So were the headjack and on switch is . . . .
I noticed it last night and if I press the back and front together the gap closes.
After speaking to P4U they said no one else has rang in with such problem and they said they would exchange it wen more arrive in stock.
I ended up going in store were I discover they ave one there but is a pre ordered handset. The guy did open it up and checked both handsets.
They new one did also have a tiny gap but not as bad?
Bit shocked as I havent really used the phone alot as Im still using my S3 till I pay my contract off.
Anyone else got this?7
Cheers
Re: HTC One Owners check it out!
I have read somewhere 2 weeks ago it is a problem for some demo set. But seems it existing on retail phone now. Also I heard iphone5 has such problem but people think it acceptable.
So maybe other users can give their view.
And you would better to have a clear photo upload others can judge.

What would be best way to post a photo on here? I havent actually needed to do it before?
Re: HTC One Owners check it out!
There was another thread on this exact issue. It is very small, but then again these phones aren't exacty cheap. So should be uniform all around.

Re: HTC One Owners check it out!
I got mine today, have looked but not used the phone yet. On both the top and bottom, I can squeeze and a hairline gap will come together, but I don't think this is a problem really. It is negligible and it probably won't have any impact at all, the phone still seems premium and solid in the hand, and it is not like they advertise it as being waterproof or anything in which case this would be an issue.

I have a slight gap on the top, nowhere else though, and its very slight, I keep a case on it at all times though, so no big issue
Ive put two links to photos I took. Hopefully the links work. One is with gap and then me pushing the edges together . . .

This gap may be engineered to provide for thermal expansion differences between glass and aluminum
Definitely looks like a defect to me. Lint, dust, water etc could all get in there very easily and cause problems down the line. I'd get it replaced.

My mates htc one had zero gap all the way around.
Yeah I maybe abit paranoid on this matter. After seeing the other newly opened htc one and seeing that also had a little gap then I though maybe
its just the way its made. I will see hopefully thursday if more come into stock.
Re: HTC One Owners check it out!
If I'm looking at the same thing is u on top of the phone theres a very very small gap between the metal casing and plastic filler.
Can't see I'm bothered about a gap of 0.25mm though. I don't think I'd ever want a replacement.

This photo is posted by others sometime ago.
But this kind of gap also on other phones, like S4.

I can definitely confirm such behavior in my One X, it expands a little from heat
but by design? i don't know, HTC promised zero gap didn't they?
Thread title is misleading: please change it.

T-Mobile version missing a microphone...

I have the T-Mobile version and it's great (love Wi-Fi calling).
I've noticed that the AT&T version had a Mic hole on the back near the lens & flash. At first I thought maybe this meant that T-Mobile version didn't have audio zoom, but I can confirm that it does.
Any clue why T-Mobile version doesn't have this Mic?
Could just be a different placement issue. Have you checked the phone schematics?

It looks like there is a mic hole on top of the phone instead of the back. It's on the right side. Just looked cause you mentioned this. Not sure if it's the same and just placed in a different spot

I'm pretty sure the AT&T version has that top Mic hole as well based on the photos I've seen.

It's the same as the international version. I have no issues with any type of call quality whether indoor or outdoors.
