i Flash cyanogen need help going back to stock
going in the download mod doesn't seem to work (vol down + power) if i keep them press, it send me into a boot loop and when i let go it boots back to cyanogen

Search for Odin. He has the answers to find stock again.
Take out battery, sim, and SD card. Plug usb cord into pc and phone. Hold down vol up and down. While holding those two down put battery in.

can i flash a 2.2 ROM from this current ROM using rommanager or will that be incompatible
cause i cant seem to go into download mod anymore since i install cyanogen

nope, the only other thing you can do is download sgs kernel flasher from the market and flash a 2.2 kernel (bali, overstock, etc). This will throw you into a boot loop so you will have to use the 3 button combo (vol up + vol down + power button) to get into recovery mode and flash a 2.2 rom (make sure you have it on your internal sd card before you flash the kernel)

That's because in you original post, You're only using one volume button. You need to use both the volume UP and volume DOWN buttons. And, when you get to El mode, make sire you flash JFD and *only* jfd

ya dont really need to do all that, just take out battery hold down vol up and vol down and put the battery in, always works for me.

i am not sure if this is the newest or best, but i just flashed to cm7 as well.
Sadly my issue is my SD card DIED with my backup RIGHT AFTER my made a backup! Now i don't have my stock ROM anymore T.T

Sure you can manually install the ROM manager apk somehow? or reboot the phone into recovery mode with a button key set? I seen power button + vol down do something on some HTC phones.
To boot into recovery turn phone off hold vol down and power it will boot into bootloader then scroll down with the volume keys and hit recovery with the power button. Also if you have CM7 (Cyanogen mod 7) you can hold power hit reboot and it comes up with reboot options and ones recovery

I TRIED EVERYTHING the phone will NOT get into download mode... i forgot my got damn password to my gmail and now i cant even activate the phone.. i found out i can use odin3 but the thing is no matter what i do it will NOT go into download mode
Pull battery. Plug phone and computer using usb cable. Hold both volume up and down. Insert battery. Works everytime unless of course you flashed i9000 boot loaders in which case only hold either up or down.

i tried everything and all i can get it into is recovery mode and thats.. this phone is stock and not even rooted..
do i need anything else installed other trhan samsung drivers?
how come it can boot into recovery mode but not download mode? i have takin the battery off plug it into to my comptuer hold vol + and down and put the battery in and still nothing half the time it will boot into recovery and thats about it...

Do this + try tapping the menu key and or the home key while holding down the other buttons.......... there is a timing trick to this but one of these will work . Also in Q & A S14274N Noob bible has all the other ways check it out.
as a last resort u can always get a usb jig to get u into download mode!

If thats red recovery, voodoo, then go down to voodoo and in there should be reboot to download mode.
If its not there or you dont see red then search in recovery as some have dl mode. Also if you have adb set up on your computer and you can get to recovery then in command line type adb reboot download.

Try this:
Take the battery out and put it back. Then you should hold both volume keys while plugging the usb cable to the phone. Don't release the keys until download mode appears.
maybe ur hardware locked? s thats why u cant get into dl mode!

What ROM are you running?
If you are completely stock, then use Kies to update to the latest official stock ROM, this will fix your 3 button issue via a SBL fix.
I love the SBL fix.
I want to make my vega better but really how no clue! What is nvflash? How to get in recovery mode? I have read the threads but am still struggling.
Will some one plwase help?
I have just done it and installed corvu5 rom just got my vega yesterday. I downloaded modded stock rom from modaco.com then after that i went onto myadventvega.com and downloaded the usb drivers and followed the system update tutorial thats on there and when it asks u to select update click modded stock an thays that ull then have recovery to flash any other rom

Thank you. One thng.... it says flash in recovery mode, how do i do that?
Plug the device into the mains, plug the usb cable to pc and device. Open hardware manager on your pc. Then hold the back button for 2 secs, then while still holding the back button hold the power button down for 2 secs, then keep holding the back button for a further 2 secs. In the usb section of your hardware manager a nvidia recovery will show up. The screen on the device will remain black. That is nvidia recovery mode.
My Rom Add-on does not work with the modded sock rom.

Also... what is a nandroid back up and how do you do it?
nandroid backup is part of clockwork mod. It creates a entire back up of your current rom, to restore if a new rom flash goes wrong.

1. Press power button, Choose reboot into recovery or something like that.
2. When the screen turns off half way, press power button to turn off the screen completely. Once screen turns off completely, let the power button go. wait for 1, 2 seconds.
3. Then press power button until you see the screen is changed. Once you see the screen changes, let the button go. You should be in the recovery mode.
Most of the people using vega comes from android phone, so they are pretty familiar with the recovery thingy

Hello.
I have a problem with a Stock G3.
How do i get it in to recovery? Tried power + volum up/down + home etc etc..
The problem is that the phone has a locked security pattern and the customer does not remember his e-mail/password so i need to rest it.
Plz help

You should flash a rom with CWM or g3mod kernel.
Maybe you mean download mode?

Uuh you dont need cwm recovery to factory reset.

Recovery is vol up+vol down+home+power(All buttons should be pressed in order). Hold till you see I5801 bootlogo. Try it.
Edit : - This is for recovery. In download mode you can t factory reset.

Uh as I said you can boot into recovery (vl up/down + home + power) then wait till it boots. Or you can reflash the ROM if you know which on it is

Go in download mode and flash kyrillos rom non oc version.
Then go in recovery and wipe data/cache/dalvik cache
Then flash stock rom.
Now you are sure you have a factory phone.
Ps: this is the long way. If you just need recovery flash the rom you prefer
So much not needed to do a simple factory reset!
Do this:
turn off phone
press home & vol up/down(both) keeping them pressed press power button and on gt-I5800/1 logo release all buttons
you'll see stock samsung recovery(just 4 options available)
use vol keys to navigate and home to select
select wipe data/factory reset and let it happen

This does not work on this phone for some reason Doing it exactly as you have described...
Must probably do it the hard way and flash CWM etc...
Goto download mode and flash a .tar as one package that contains only datafs.rfs. You ll find it in CyanogenMod thread I think.

With cache.rfs for a full reset
Or a better idea
Open back cover of the phone
On the bottom left (near the screw) just where the battery ends there is what small hole
That's the hard reset switch
Press it with a small pin and done!
Remove sdcard if you wanna preserve sdcard data

i'm new to android stuff ,, anyway ive installed a rom on my sgs2 and now i want to shif to another rom somehow everytime i want to get my phone into download it just get into recovery mod and odion keeps failing i tried to get my phone back into refractory data and that even went worse now ,, can you pls help me and tell me how to get the new rom i've over the one i previously installed !

If you've installed a custom ROM, you may already have (or can download) the ClockWorkMod app and should be able to boot into download from that. Alternatively, beg, borrow or steal a USB jig and plug that in when powered down? Apologies if you've looked into all these option already and none are of any help. Good luck.
