Google for the manual update.zip, not sure if its allowed to post that kind of stuff here, so I'm not going to post. If you search, should be the first or second search result. From there ou should be able to download the update.zip

I bought a new SE Xperia X10 thru AT&T, tried rooting it but couldn't complete it properly. I tried to reset the device but that didn't help.
Now the phone says, it has an operating system for SO-01B and won't even show a keyboard (virtual) to type anything. Also, I couldn't update the software again using SEUS as I get the message that there are no new updates for your phone.
Any suggestions to reinstall the operating system all over again in original condition?
Öhm, yes you should download the NEW files. If your phone is SO-01b the files that you used are the very first that was available! (A few month ago )
Please download the new files and stick the guide:

If you have an AT&T version of the X10a it should have R2CA016 as the OS version. I have decrypted that version and created a recovery install for it. It is 134mb zip file so I can't share it here. I posted in the Decrypted ROM thread but no response from the OP yet. Send me a PM and maybe we can figure out a way for you to download it. It is basically the "debrick tool" with the AT&T files already merged. You will have to determine your device id but everything else is complete.
Also, I recommend using the one click apk to root your phone. You can install the apk using ADB and it does work on the AT&T X10a version.
Thanks for the help - I'm a little naive when it comes to acronyms, help me understand what you mean by PM here?
PM is Private Message! lol
If you still want to root I recommend universal androot. It roots your phone in one click and is pretty much an app that does it for you with no fuss or complication and it should hopefully allow you to root it again once 2.1 is released as it let's you choose which superuser version to install.
It also gives you the option of being able unroot your phone if you wanted to.
I can't post a link but a google search will come up with the goods.
I'm using it and it works great hope this helps

You might need to flash with the 2.3.15 sbf first. I was rooted and themed and the update kept failing. After the sbf, I had no issues with the update.

First time poster and extremely unknowledgeable about how to do almost anything except rely on the technical prowess and patience of the developers and other contributors here. That being said, I too have a rooted droid x (using z4root) and cannot get the ota update to work. I tried unrooting using z4root and downloading + installing only to have it fail.
If someone could please post a link or an explanation (in very simple terms, please), how to both obtain and install whatever this sbf is mentioned above, I would appreciate it quite a bit.
Thanks in advance.

PS: I only use and/or have access to a Mac running OSX 10.6.5 so, windows is not available.

Heres a link I found that may help some of us but, as I've changed the bloatware after rooting, I'm intimidated by the warnings contained on the post.
Please use this at your own risk and understand I have nothing whatsoever to do with the posts contents.
I'm just going to wait untilsome kind and patient soul takes pity on me and explains what to do in plain english with no acronyms.

When you ask for help I would advise for you to at least type in complete sentences so someone can try to understand what it is you're saying. I find it extremely annoying when people ask for help, but their questions are not clear or concise; just a bunch of sentence fragments.
As for everyone else I was having trouble early and just SBF'd. It was the only way for me. Running 2.3.15.
Is this 2.3 gingerbread?

make sure you don't sbf to something lower then your current version i.e. 2.3.32 > 2.3.15 is a no go. (results in brick i think) also make sure your bootloader is the right version and etc. etc.
What is the best way to update for 2.3.13? I just restored and it keeps saying there is no update necessary at this time.
Thanks Mike
do you mean update TO 2.3.X, or upgrade above it?
If you go to settings--> about phone, what does it say for sysyem information?
If you have removed any quick programs/bloatware, then you cannot get updates. If you can post more information I would be glad to help

To everyone / anyone lucky enough to recieve the 4.010.08 update or any update. Please download alogcat from the market and run during acceptance of the update so we can log the ota location and make it available to the less fortunate.
This will help millions!
Please share if you have 1.141.07 and going to 4.010.08

Special thanks to Vache for starting the log, Just wish people would continue to log the OTA update locations.
Please note which update you were on prior to update when posting.
If you can't figure out alogcat, Whenever you get an update prompt on your tablet, look in the /cache/recovery of your tablet while it's downloading and copy and paste the filename somewhere then you can post it publically and it can be downloaded from http://cdn.acer.futuredial.com/Acer_A500_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.zip
You will be thanked by millions! Ahahahha...

not sure this helps you but I was on 4.010.04 and got the 4.010.10 update today here is the info you wanted for that update.
Acer_A500_0.000.00_4.010.10_COM_GEN2_1310535068614_9b84abb1.zip
might not be useful if your just looking for the .08 update.
Thanks for the reply, Actually trying to find the OTA download location. It looks like the file you got is a complete rom. If you can find where it was downloaded that would be great it would look like http://cdn.acer.futuredial.com/Acer_...xxxxxxxxxx.zip , either in your cache or in the alogcat log.
Kappen, you have thanks. I saw the thread you created with the correct OTA update location, although I can't use it yet it may come in handy in the future. Please note what build you were on prior the update.

It's a known fact that the rooted Moto E (XT1022) can not be updated via the OTA update. Its my first time here and I'm proud to present my modded Moto E update. I'm not responsible for anything that goes wrong (it worked perfectly well for me). I've just modified the update script and packaged it back. You must have a custom recovery. Just copy the zip and install it. That's it. Why relock the boot loader and flash firmware again?

So will it work on modified system too.?
Or does it still need system to be just as stock.?
Read the op carefully. It needs to have a custom recovery.

I meant the system files.
If you modify say even de-odex a system app, the OTA usually don't work, no matter if you use stock or custom recovery cause it patches the system files.
So my question was, will this work in such case.?
Tapatalk with RAZR HD
I've removed the initial asserts and the apply_patch_check for debuggerd. If you change other system files, remove the apply_patch_check for the., @neo.ank
