Droid X Bloat Manager - Droid X General

Can anyone create (or modify the existing .apk) something like this? I found one for the droid2, but it doesnt find all of the bloat (at least for the gingerbread OTA)
Here's the link to the droid 2 apk - it worked well on my Dx for what it could find.

I'd recommend waiting until Apex on .596 comes out...he'll have all possible bloat removed.

[Q] Need Themes

I have rooted and installed JRummys Load_theme. Only problem is I need a theme!!
Was going to try one of the Froyo themes for Droid 1 but I do not know what version is in the droid 2 - FRG01B, FRG22, FRG22D, ?????
So... anyone have a theme or can anyone tell me what version the D2 is?
Thanks
I would love some themes also, I haven't rooted yet but once there are themes and/or roms I will go right ahead.
I managed to get the SenseX theme for the Droid X to sort of work. Unfortunately though for the text colors to be correct the phone needs to be deodexed and I have yet to figure out a way to do that on the Droid 2. I've tried doing it manually a few different ways with xUltimate but unfortunately doing so always results in a boot loop that I need to reflash the phone to get out of. I don't know if anybody has come up with a working way to deodex a Droid 2 yet.

Deletion of swype

Hello there everybody. I'm new to this site and am also new to "rooting." I just rooted my droid x and by accident I deleted swype instead of skype. I can't imagine my phone without sywpe! How do I get it back? I tried going to 4shared.com and downloading it from there. But after I did it said that swype wasnt right for my screen size. I'm currently running 2.3 so if anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it. Thanks.
How could you possibly be running 2.3? Motorola hasn't came out with the kernel yet.
My suggestion would be either sbf or download the fission rom manager from their site and get the droid x swype add-on. Then bootstrap recovery and install it from there. It may be a good idea to mount system before installing too
Bookmark this site. It has all of the .APK files for the DX.
NATF Edit: Sorry guys, had to remove the link since it has the Swype apk on it.
fasthair
Edit: Sorry mods... I thought since it is a version of Swype that goes on the DX that it would be ok to link to it. It was my understanding reading the Swype press release that they were fine with people distributing Swype with themes and ROMs as long as the .APK was the proper licensed version for the device the ROM was made for. Is this not the case?
I'm not saying any of this to argue. I'm just trying to explain what I thought I knew. Again I apologize.
He probably just accident hit "3" instead of "2"

[Q] Building native apps from source

Hello, I'm having some trouble building native apps from source and getting them to install.
Specifically what I'm trying to do is as follows:
I recently upgraded my Droid X to Gingerbread (rooted and deodexed). I can't stand the blur email app. I prefer the original Email.apk. What I did was download and compile Gingerbread from source. I had no problems doing this. After the build, I attempted to adb push the stock email app to my device. The push goes successfully, and I can see the Email.apk in the system/app folder, but it is not installing.
I figure this is due to some dependency not being satisfied.
1.) Does anyone know what the dependencies are for the stock Email.apk?
2.) Is there any way to find out dependencies for future reference?
3.) Custom rom makers obviously modify various apps for their roms, I have searched in many places for a decent guide on how to do this. Can anyone point me in the right direction please?
Thank you in advance!
Did you remove the blur e-mail app first? I doubt that will be it, but it's worth a try
Yes...the blur app is a different filename though...i appreciate the suggestion.

Turn Droid2 into R2D2

can I transform my droid2 a955 into a r2d2 version hardware exclusive, of course? I would like to have the device run like the r2d2 (themes, extras, etc.)
thanks
There is a system dump out there that would give you all the stuff the Droid 2 R2D2 had (minus the lock screen).
Or you could find the sbf file specific to the R2D2 Droid 2 (if it exists) and flash it. That would give you the lock screen, which the other way doesn't.
any idea where it is?
I see bits and pieces of it everywhere, but don't know where the full dump is. Give me a bit, I have an idea.
Edit: Scratch that. I thought I had the dump, but I can't find it anywhere. Google search for it. You can find the wallpaper (live and static), the sounds, the boot animation, and the apps/widgets. The lock screen is a bit harder to find.
I used my TBH app and it says it has the R2D2 Froyo 2.2 - flashed it but it didn't do anything
It probably just had the version of Froyo that the R2D2 droid had, but not the theme/content that came with it.
Don't know what else to tell you. If I could have found my copy of the dump, I would have uploaded you. Sorry.
This is old but it could work for you:

[WIP/TOOL] [Windows only] APK Multi-ROOT

APK Multi-ROOT is a application that was written based off of the zerg exploit and built off of the 1 click exploit script as a base.
The Key Features of this application:
Rooting your Motorola Devices:
Tested using the Motorola Droid Bionic and the Samsung Sapphire
This application will also install Busybox superuser su and also Titianum Backup
also optional is that this application will also add 43V3R Root as well as the Bionic Boot strapper to allow you to boot into a custom recovery
This should work on most Motorola Devices as well as some other Android Phones
I currently have the system.img of the Bionic 5.5.886 but I have not built it into the script yet since I am hoping to pull or if someone can suppy me with the system.img of the Bionic 5.5.893
Download:
APK MULTI-ROOT
Here is a Minor update on the progress of the project going on.
For the most part the API is almost complete and I am working on integrating the most current working exploit into the script.
Since for the most part this has been tested on my Motorola Droid Bionic and I can confirm is works 100% with it but for the most part I used parts from 1-click_exploit to build some parts of the application as well as I am using guides for the 43V3RRoot from all over the net.
I currently have the system.img of the Bionic 5.5.886 but I have not built it into the script yet since I am hoping to pull or if someone can suppy me with the system.img of the Bionic 5.5.893
I have no ETA For a release of this script just yet since I am working on making sure that this is as complete and bug free as possible so that None will brick there phone using this method.
As this application evolves and I can add support to new phones I will move the menus around but since is is small and I just have the bionic restore option for now I am including that in the main menu until I have to in the future I will have a Motorola, HTC and a Samsung menu section and then will have sub-menus for the different phone models.
I have tested this on my wife phone the Samsung sapphire and it roots her phone. I need to test this further before I move on to releasing this to the public. I am also working on adding a new features. I hopping to have more testing done and working on getting some of the features to download only if needed. This will save on space and this way you will not have the bionic files on this app if you're not a bionic user

Added Titanium Backup to the rooting process.
Added Bionic Bootstrap to the 4everRoot process.
Working on a Symlink script to run with the rooting process.
Looking into perhaps adding deoxing process into the script if I can find a way to do it safely without bricking phone.
Looking to add a hack to install theme chooser and have it work property with stock no promises for this one but hopping to make this a reality.
